Muslims in France: Some Data

The tendency of ethnic clustering and self-segregation is being reinforced by the sheer scale of immigration, particularly Islamic. It is becoming easier and easier for Muslims to live among their own and not have to adapt to local French norms:

The greater the immigrant presence, the greater the tendency to reject mixed marriages among Muslims, reaching 35% or even 37% in neighborhoods and municipalities with a very high immigrant presence (15% to 30% immigrants or immigrants' children in the local population). (p. 153)

One set of polls found conflicting tendencies: between 2011 and 2016, the percentage of Muslims who would be happy if their son married a non-Muslim rose from 41% to 56%, while those who would be happy if their daughter married outside the faith fell from 38% to 35% (p. 152). Interestingly, the more educated a Muslim is, the more likely he/she is to intermarry with a non-Muslim (p. 158). The less educated working class Muslims are more hostile to intermarriage, reproducing the pattern of ethnocentric sentiment inversely correlating with intelligence and socio-economic status.

Hostility to intermarriage is suggestive of the clash of values between native French and Muslims. As a rule, we can expect initially stark differences between liberal post-60s Frenchmen and first-generation Muslims hailing from relatively traditional societies, and then a partial convergence as the immigrants acculturate to the new environment (or, to some extent, as the French are reeducated to "adapt" to the newcomers' cultures).

Convergence has always been limited. Muslims in France are no more likely to adopt French names for their children they they were in the past (p. 161). Muslim naming follows its own patterns completely independent from the general French population (p. 162). Whereas the French population overwhelmingly supports women's right to abortion or gays' right to "be free to live as they wish," only small majorities of French Muslims also do so (p. 165).

Convergence may have, if anything, peaked as there is evidence of a resurgence in Islamic sentiment:

The studies and polls that we have all converge in indicating a greater frequency and observance of religious signs in the population of Muslim faith or origin. The turning point seems to have been the early 2000s. (p. 163)

In the early 1990s, around 60% of Muslims in France fasted for Ramadan, the figure for the 2000s varied between 67% and 71% (p. 164). In the 1990s, 35% to 39% of Muslims said they drank alcohol, a figure which fell to 32% in 2011 and 22% in 2016. The proportion of Muslim women wearing headscarves has risen from 24% in 2003 to 35% in 2016. Perhaps most surprisingly, a recent poll found that young Muslims are significantly more hostile to sex before marriage than are their elders. Whereas 55% of Muslims over 50 said "A woman should remain a virgin until marriage," 74% of 18-24 year-olds were of this opinion (p. 167).

It is unclear what is driving this re-Islamization. In addition to the Muslim community's growing confidence as it also grows in size, it may also be an ethno-religious reaction to certain polemics of the early 2000s: the War on Terror, the renewed Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and new measures by conservative French politicians to limit overt Islamization (such as the 2004 ban on headscarves in schools or President Nicolas Sarkozy's "Le Pen-lite" campaigning). President Emmanuel Macron's draft "law against separatisms" may have a similar effect, aiming as it does to eliminate Islamism through various measures so as to assuage native French fears, measures which will likely stoke greater ethno-religious sentiment and a feeling of persecution (justified or not) among Muslims.

We can expect to see a continued cycle reinforcing Muslim and native French ethnic/religious sentiment as measures appealing to the French offend Muslims, Muslims adopting behavior offensive to the native French, and so forth. One of the most common vectors of this: cases of alleged police brutality becoming causes célèbres for protest among Muslims (and Africans), in a context of distinctly higher Muslim (and African) violent criminality).

There is strong evidence that the Muslim vote is opportunistic according to ethnic interests as against any particular principles. Whereas Turks in France largely vote for the multicultural, feminist, secularist, and redistributionist left in French elections, in 2017 65% of eligible Turks voted in favor of the referendum strengthening the powers Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a nationalistic Islamist politician (p. 141). The Turks indeed have developed their own cultural and political ecosystem in France, with spiritual leadership being provided by Turkish state-paid imams. Astonishingly, Erdoğan's Law and Justice Party (AKP) fielded 68 candidates in the French legislative elections of June 2017 (p. 172).

The Turks admittedly appear to be an especially endogamous community, with 85% Turks in France marrying fellow Turks (p. 170). By contrast, only small majorities of Moroccans and Algerians marry their co-nationals (though it is unclear how many of the "exogamous" in these two groups are marrying non-Muslims). Only a quarter of southern European and Indochinese immigrants marry fellow nationals. Christian Blacks intermarry more than do Muslim Blacks.

Black and Muslim immigrants have had a very detrimental effect on the French student body. Among 11 year olds, some 11.8% of French citizen children are a year behind at school, as against 32.4% of foreign children (p. 208). Second-generation immigrant children score on average 50 points worse on PISA exams, a figure that no doubt understates Afro-Islamic underperformance, because it includes European and Asian immigrant children (who, according to other metrics, appear to perform comparably to natives). There is a clear correlation between students' educational performance and parents' income.

The school system is increasingly segregated – Afro-Islamic children being concentrated in certain neighborhoods because of a combination of residential clustering and White flight. According to the researcher Georges Felouzis, the segregating factor is primarily ethnicity and not social class (p. 209). 37% of teachers say they have self-censored themselves to not offend students and 59% say that secularism is in danger in France (p. 215). This can indeed be a matter of life and death, as we discovered with the decapitation of history teacher Samuel Paty.

The Afro-Islamization of neighborhoods has coincided with the emergence of "sensitive areas" in middle-sized cities across the country, with similar patterns of crime, drug dealing, and attacks on police and firefighters (p. 184).

There has been an explosion of marijuana use across the country. In 1993, 21% of 17-year-olds had used marijuana, rising to 50.2% in 2002 (roughly stabilizing around that level, p. 195). An estimated 200,000 people live from this illicit industry as dealers and suppliers, with back-and-forth trips especially to producers in Morocco (p. 198). This rare example of entrepreneurship among youth in France today unfortunately coincides with the development of gangs and lawless buildings/neighborhoods controlled by local toughs. 76% of police officers are worried about the growth of no-go areas (p. 215).

Pariskunta on kertonut sosiaalisessa mediassa, että he ovat keskustelleet jopa 105 lapsen hankinnasta. Luku oli kuitenkin satunnainen, eikä päätöksiä lopullisesta lapsiluvusta ole tehty.

Jokainen sijaissynnytys maksaa pariskunnalle noin 8 000 euroa. Sadan lapsen synnyttäminen lähentelisi siis jo miljoonaa euroa. Raha ei ole perheelle rajoite, ja heillä on hyvät mahdollisuudet tulla tulevaisuudessa noteeratuksi maailman suurimpana perheenä.

How the pandemic reversed old migration patterns in Europe
Many Eastern Europeans have left the west and gone home

After a decade in Britain, it took Alexej Kirillov barely 24 hours to decide to leave. In March 2020, as Europe's borders slammed shut, Mr Kirillov, a 31-year-old strategy consultant, had a choice: lockdown in a costly, lonely London flat or go home to the Czech Republic and be close to family. "I was not planning to leave for another five years, or longer, or never," he says. But covid-19 changed his mind. Nearly a year on, he has set up shop in his homeland. A temporary return has become permanent. "Now I'm back, I think why didn't I move back sooner?"

He was not alone. In 2020 Europe saw a great reverse migration, as those who had sought work abroad returned home. Exact numbers are hard to come by. An estimated 1.3m Romanians went back to Romania—equivalent to three times the population of its second-biggest city. Perhaps 500,000 Bulgarians returned to Bulgaria—a huge number for a country of 7m. Lithuania has seen more citizens arriving than leaving for the first time in years. Other measures show the same. In Warsaw, dating apps brim with returning Poles looking for socially undistanced fun. Politicians in eastern Europe had long complained of a "brain drain" as their brightest left in search of higher wages in the west. Now the pandemic, a shifting economy and changing work patterns are bringing many of them back. A "brain gain" has begun.

Jälkimmäisessä tapauksessa vaikutukset ovat ylisukupolvisen pysyviä ja laajalle yhteiskuntaan ulottuvia. Voisiko ajatella, että näitä demografisia ratkaisuja tehtäisiin vähintään yhtä suurella maltilla kuin perustuslain muutoksia? Meinaan ei tarvitsisi sitten jälkeenpäin ihmetellä, mistä se vihapuhe kumpuaa.

The index of dependency of the young is considerably higher in theRoma population, given the high number and ratio of children, than in the non-Roma population.It is possible to assume that the number of Roma in Slovakia, as well as their share of the totalpopulation, will continue to grow, but not at the rate predicted by some politicians. In terms ofpossible threats, the development to a gradual ethnical domination of the Roma in some countiesof Slovakia and the possible migration of the majority population from the marginalized regionsare more dangerous. This may lead to the economic collapse of the counties if the Roma and Romahousing become dominant in these counties. A significant ethnicization of poverty may be expectedwithin the next fifteen years, which may acquire a regional character. Why US Conservatism Fails – Social Conservatism/Support for Working Class Whites and Neoliberalism Are Always Incompatible

Margaret Thatcher summed it up well when she said, "There is no society." This is what all conservatives want. They want there to be no society at all. It's odd because this white picket fence White America they all want to go back to was a society if there ever was one. So all rightwingers want to get rid of society (as it's bad for business) but then the paradises they all want to go back to had deep societal structures.

Another problem for Republicans is selling their project to working class Whites while pushing a project – neoliberalism – that is designed by its very nature to devastate all workers but the working class first and foremost.

Hence the Republicans claim to speak for the White Working Class while pushing the very economics that is causing declining life expectancy, opioid addiction and overdose epidemics, complete social degeneration, and economic wreckage in White working class America. The Republicans have always done this by getting working class Whites to vote for them on social issues. But then the Republicans never really get around to fixing any of the social issues.

Abortion legal yet? Of course not.

Porn illegal? You kidding?

Social degeneration arrested? You must be joking.

Divorce and single parenthood? Pull the other one.

Drug abuse, sales, and use? Please.

For abortion, porn, and illegal immigration, the Republicans don't want to fix any of these issues. They just want to say they will and then never do it. The daughters of the rich get abortions too. I'm sure the rich love their porn, depraved degenerates that they are. And Republicans will never fix illegal immigration because their corporate and small business supporters want to keep the illegal flow coming for the cheap wages and control over labor.

Divorce, single parenthood, social degeneration, drug use, sales, and abuse, including opioid use and overdose epidemics? Curiously, the neoliberal economics that Republicans push tend to directly cause all of these forms of cultural decay and degeneration.

US Conservatism Will Always Be Incoherent
As usual, conservatives are incoherent. The problem isn't capitalism, it "state capitalism" or "state interference in the market." This is the Libertarian idiocy. Yet every time there's a crisis in the market – and under neoliberalism there will be more than ever – the capitalists all go running to the state with their hands out asking for the workers to bail them out. The only thank you the workers get is a giant IOW for trillions of dollars they have to pay back that they loaned to the capitalists.

I go to rightwing blogs all the time and I see them flailing about. Many are starting to figure out that neoliberalism is utterly corrosive of all of the socially conservative values that they wish to cultivate.

Neoliberalism will always support mass immigration and illegal immigration to keep wages down.

Neoliberalism will always oppose any moral structures in society because the more we let it all hang loose, the more consumers we have.

Neoliberalism will never be race realist because capitalists care absolutely nothing whatsoever about race. It means nothing to them. The only color capitalists have ever cared about is green.

I see them flailing around, searching for something, anything – that will give them their social conservatism while keeping their free markets. Huey Longism, "agrarian socialism", distributism, antisemitic campaigns against "banksters" that leave the rest of the neoliberal economy alone, on and on.

They want the usual starvation of the state with low taxes and no social programs, but that always results in no society at all or something that looks more like Somalia than Norman Rockwell.

They decry the pain that neoliberalism has inflicted on the White working class while refusing to recognize that neoliberalism had anything to do with it.

They never have any solid proposals about anything because their love of neoliberalism, a small or near-zero state, no regulation, etc. always runs afoul of their desires to limit immigration, slow the decline of the White working class, arrest the decay of values and behavior, and adopt some sanity on race, gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity because the two things are utterly incompatible.

You either have one or the other.

Study shows that testosterone levels can have an impact on generosity

A team of researchers affiliated with a host of institutions across China has found a link between generosity in men and their testosterone levels. In their paper published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the group describes experiments they conducted with male volunteers and what they learned about the impact of testosterone levels in men.

Prior research has shown that elevated levels of testosterone in men can lead to changes in decision-making, antisocial behavior, damage to romantic relationships and in some cases, an increase in desire for material possessions.

To find out, the researchers enlisted the assistance of 70 male volunteers between the ages of 18 and 25. The experiment began by separating the volunteers into two groups—both had a gel rubbed into their upper arms and shoulders. For one group, the gel contained 150 milligrams of testosterone; the other group got a placebo.

The next part of the experiment involved explaining the idea of social distance to both groups—the kind that describes emotional closeness with other people in their life. The researchers then asked all of the volunteers in both groups to rate how close they felt to various people in their life. The researchers then excluded any volunteers that reported having a negative relationship with the people in their lives. They then asked the volunteers to rate the degree of social distance of the people in their lives after which they were given a certain amount of money—the amount differed between individuals. Next, each of the volunteers was asked to lay in an fMRI machine as the researchers chose one of the people the volunteers had rated and then asked the volunteer to make a decision regarding the cash—they could either keep it or split it with the other person chosen by the researchers.

In studying their data, the researchers found the volunteers gave roughly equally to people they had reported as close to them in their social circle. But those given the testosterone were found to be less generous to those not very close to them. They also found differences in activity in the temporoparietal junction in the brain—the part of the brain associated with empathy.

Ranskalainen filosofi Michel Onfray uskoo, että "suuri väestönvaihto" on tapahtumassa riippumatta siitä, mitä vasemmistolainen valtamedia haluaa meidän uskovan.

62-vuotias Michel Onfray on kirjoittanut yli 100 kirjaa ja jättänyt virkansa lukion filosofianopettajana jo vuonna 2002. Hän on perustanut kansanyliopiston Caeniin, jossa hän ja monet muut opettavat filosofiaa ja muita aineita.

Filosofi Onfray toi käsityksensä demografisesta muutoksesta julki Front Populaire -uutissivustolla Youtubessa.

Is There a Happiness Gene?

One secret to happiness may lie in genes, a new study suggests.

Denmark and other Scandinavian countries regularly top world happiness rankings, and while many factors influence happiness, genetics may play a larger role than previously thought, according to the study authors.

The new research examined the average genetic makeup of people in more than 100 countries, and compared how similar their genes were to people living in Denmark — a measurement called genetic distance. They found that the greater a nation's genetic distance from Denmark, the lower the reported well-being of that nation. [7 Things That Will Make You Happy]

The findings held even after the researchers took into account other factors that could affect happiness, such as GDP level and cultural differences,

Proto and his colleague, Andrew Oswald, compared the genes of people in 131 countries, and used data on happiness from the Gallup World Poll, World Value Survey and European Quality of Life Surveys.

Countries near Denmark, like the Netherlands and Sweden, ranked among the happiest. Given their close proximity, these countries are some of the most genetically similar to Denmark. Countries that ranked particularly low on the happiness scale, like Ghana and Madagascar, have the least genetic similarity to Denmark.

The researchers also looked at the relationship between people's well-being and the mutation of a gene that governs serotonin, a chemical linked to feelings of happiness. The research is controversial, but some studies have found that individuals with a mutated, shorter copy of this gene report lower happiness levels. For this part of the study, the researchers looked at people in 30 countries and compared how many people had the mutation in each country. They found that Denmark and the Netherlands have the lowest percentage of people with the mutated shorter copy of the gene, and also ranked the happiest. Italy had the highest percentage of people with the mutation, and ranked the least happy of the 30 countries.

Finally, the researchers looked to see if the link between genetics and happiness was passed down from generation to generation. They examined well-being surveys from a group of Americans, and then traced the origin of their ancestors. They found that the happiest Americans descended from immigrants from the happiest countries.

Kainuuseen halutaan enemmän nuoria naisia.

Siksi Kajaanin kaupunki ja Kainuun liitto aloittivat Naisnäkökulmaa Kainuuseen nimisen hankkeen. Sen tarkoituksena on kartoittaa nuorten naisten näkemystä siitä, miten Kainuusta saataisiin nuoria naisia houkuttava asuinpaikka.

– Kainuussa on sellainen tilanne, että nuoria naisia on noin 800 vähemmän verrattuna nuoriin miehiin, Kainuun liiton aluekehitysasiantuntija Minna Komulainen kertoo.

Naisnäkökulmaa Kainuuseen -hankkeen järjestämään kyselyyn vastanneista moni toivoi Kainuuseen yliopistollista opetusta. Opettajakoulutuksen loppuminen Kajaanista noin kymmenen vuotta sitten näkyy Komulaisen mukaan nuorten naisten luvuissa.

Komulaisen mielestä digitalisaatio tarjoaa koulutusasiaan uusia mahdollisuuksia: oppilaitokset voisivat esimerkiksi järjestää yhteistyössä eri toimijoiden kanssa muuntokoulutuksia ja sitä kautta parantaa tarjontaa.

Vuonna 1983 syntyneiden nousua suurimmaksi ikäluokaksi vauhditti maahanmuutto. Ikäluokasta joka seitsemäs oli vieraskielinen eli muuta kuin suomea, ruotsia tai saamea äidinkielenään puhuva.

China must "fully liberalize" its birth-control policy to increase its labor force in the upcoming decades and compete with such countries as the US economically, a paper published by the People's Bank of China says.
Beijing should pay close attention to the fact that the country's birth rate is declining, while its population is aging fast, the researchers argued. The research, which was published this week by China's central bank as part of its working paper series, suggests that the country's main economic rival, the US, is undergoing "favorable changes" in working population rates, largely through mass immigration.

Based on statistics and forecasts by the United Nations – which might even overestimate China's reproduction rate, according to the researchers – the report suggests that in the next three decades, China's population will decrease by some 32 million people. At the same time, US may add 50 million people to its population by 2050.

The authors argued that China's government must quickly change its family-planning policies: "Our country must clearly recognize the changes in the situation... firmly seize the precious time window, change concepts, comprehensively implement policies, and respond effectively." Beijing "must fully liberalize childbirth" allowing "three births and above," the paper said.

In fact, women should be encouraged to have more babies, the researchers added, calling on both the government and society to create a "good reproductive environment," improving childbirth, healthcare and school systems.

Tuppukylissä kaikki ovat jonkin sortin serkkuja keskenään niin pariutumisenkin kannalta on hyvä että nuoriso lähtee pois tuppukylistä.

No ei se asia nyt aivan noinkaan Suomessa ole. Tuntuu että kärjistät hieman liikaa. Täällä meidän syrjäkylällä, pohjanmaan lakeuksilla on monellakin puoliso savosta, tai Karjalasta. On lappalaisiakin. Oma äitinikin ei ole täältä kunnasta, vaikka pohjalainen onkin. Itsellänikin on vaimo haettu myöskin parin sadan kilometrin päästä.

Mitä itse tullut katottua sukupuuta niin karjalaiset on ryssiä ja savolaiset taas hurreja(tässä mennään johonkin (1600-1700 luvulle,"alkuasukkaita" siis ).Se että haet vaimon parin sadan kilometrin päästä ei tarkoita sitä etteikö se voisi olla sulle jonkin sortin serkku nykyään.Sitä Poikkinaintia on tapahtunut hitosti itä-länsi suunnassa tuolla päin.

Itse ainakin mieluiten tekisin lapsia Länsi-suomalaisen naisen kanssa. Savo-karjalalaiset on njet puhumattakaan nyt mistään muista kansoista.
Etnisesti puhdasrotuiset on yleensä terveempiä anyway ja tasapainoisempia psyykkisesti.

China is expected to report its first population decline since Mao Zedong's Great Leap Forward in its latest census, which could spark a crisis moment in a country deeply worried about its aging demographics. After the one-child policy was formally lifted in 2015, the government hoped that a baby boom would follow, but the figures show it hasn't materialized—because having kids in China is just too expensive.

The population decline fundamentally reflects a simple reality, pandemic aside: Having children in China is expensive and burdensome, as it is in most developed economies. By the end of the one-child policy period, the financial and social costs of raising children were holding urban, middle-class families back from having multiples—not family planning rules. (A recent video game captured just how much is involved in modern Chinese parenting.)

On top of that, many Chinese face the responsibility of caring for aging parents, especially tough for a generation of only children, as well as the stigma of single parenthood. For the poor, the stress of separation from children due to labor migration, the difficulty of finding education or health care in big cities, and the impossibility of buying apartments—often a social requirement before marriage—present other obstacles.

China isn't a developed economy, making its low fertility rate even more of a burden than it is for countries such as Japan or Italy. Despite China's vast economy, it still has a per capita income below the global average, making the problem of supporting a graying population with a shrinking labor force more acute. China's growth model is still labor-driven, and unlike European countries or the United States, it has no immigration flow to counteract fertility loss. The ethnonationalist turn under President Xi Jinping makes it unlikely there ever will be.

Chinese authorities are also focused on so-called human quality: They want college-educated women, not farmers, to have babies. Pressure on women to abandon careers in favor of raising children has increased, along with plenty of feminist resistance. The shock of the new population figures will likely cause a jump toward more natalist policies. On the positive side, that could mean more public resources for health care, child welfare, and education.

But the machinery of the Chinese state turns more toward repression than reform right now, and negative policies such as abortion limitations and forcing women out of the workplace could be more likely. Beijing has spent decades claiming authority over women's reproduction already, after all, and there's a vast family planning bureaucracy that needs something to do.

Tiedättekö missä määrin kungfutselaisuuden kunniaa ja asemaa on palautettu viime vuosikymmeninä? Käsittääkseni kulttuurivallankumouksessa oli merkittävältä osalta kyse juuri kungfutselaisuuden eetoksen tuhoamisesta.

Kungfutselaisuudessa nainen on selkeästi miehelle alisteinen, ja yhteiskunta ylipäätään rakentuu perheperustaisen patriarkaalisen hierarkian varaan. Marxilaisen sosialismin kanssa tuo ei sovi yhteen, mutta eikös tuo kiinalainen sosialismi ole osoittautunut aika mukautumiskykyiseksi ja halukkaaksi tarvittaessa luopumaan Marxin opista.

Historiallinen pudotus: alle puolet helsinkiläisistä kuuluu enää luterilaiseen kirkkoon

Enää alle puolet Helsingin asukkaista kuuluu evankelisluterilaiseen kirkkoon. Seurakuntayhtymän tuoreen tilaston mukaan jäseniä on noin 327 000, mikä on 49,9 prosenttia helsinkiläisistä.

Helsingin piispa Teemu Laajasalo kommentoi historiallista notkahdusta Ylelle sanomalla, että nyt on heräämisen paikka.

– Rajanumerot ovat sen takia tärkeitä, että ne saavat miettimään yksittäisiä ihmisiä sekä sitä, kuinka monta ihmistä pitää olla, että olisimme 50:n toisella puolella, Laajasalo sanoo.

Pääkaupungin evankelisluterilaisten seurakuntien jäsenmäärän lasku on jatkunut koko 2000-luvun. Vielä vuonna 2001 seurakunnissa oli yhteensä noin 402 000 jäsentä.

– On syytä nöyrällä mielellä pohtia, mitä olisi pitänyt tehdä paremmin ja mikä on jäänyt tekemättä, piispa toteaa.

Vaikka seurakuntalaisten määrä on siis vähentynyt noin 20 vuoden aikana pääkaupungissa yli 70 000 ihmisellä, Laajasalon mukaan on kuitenkin syytä huomata myös se, että 327 000 jäsentä on valtavan suuri määrä.

China bans binge-eating videos as part of new law prohibiting food waste

Chinese lawmakers have enacted legislation that will allow authorities to crack down on various kinds of food waste, including videos of binge eating, in an effort to conserve resources and promote responsible consumption.
Ratified by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) on Thursday, the new law prohibits vloggers and social media influencers from creating content in which they eat, or pretend to eat, excessive amounts of food. Anyone who makes such videos now risks a fine up of up to 100,000 yuan ($15,451).

Some Chinese content creators reportedly make hundreds of dollars in donations by hosting livestreams, known as a 'mukbang' shows, in which they binge on enormous amounts of food or alcohol. Earlier this month, China's corruption watchdog called on video-sharing platforms to crack down on the 'shows', saying they encouraged food waste.

Additionally, the law will allow restaurants to issue fees to diners if they leave large amounts of food uneaten. The legislation also protects consumers from deceptive marketing that leads to food waste. Vendors can be fined if authorities determine that their advertising encourages customers to order more food than they really need. Food providers that are found to be wasteful face a maximum fine of 50,000 yuan ($7,731)

Chinese media said that the law was designed to "guide society to foster rational and healthy catering consumption habits.
