27-vuotias nainen on pidätetty Heathrow'n lentokentällä Lontoossa. Suur-Lontoon poliisin Scotland Yardin mukaan naista epäillään terrori-iskun valmistelusta. Nainen pidätettiin, kun hän laskeutui Heathrown lentokentälle. Hän oli tulossa Addis Abebasta Etiopiasta.

Man (26) admits to funding Islamic State from County Waterford

A 26-year-old man has admitted providing funding from his Co Waterford base to terrorist organisation Islamic State.

Hassan Bal, formerly of O'Connell Street in Waterford but recently in custody since being arrested at his Waterford home in April of last year, pleaded guilty at Waterford Circuit Court on Friday to two counts relating to the funding and attempting funding of Islamic State.

His case was adjourned by Judge Eugene O'Kelly to April 10, when a date will be fixed for the case to be finalised and Mr Bal to be sentenced.

Mr Bal, who is in custody, was in court wearing a blue and white check shirt, green jacket and grey trousers.

He was only called upon to speak when asked to confirm he is Hassan Bal and he said "I am, yes," and also when he said "guilty" in reply to each of two charges put to him.

The accused is originally from the UK and moved to Ireland with his family when he was 12 years of age, living initially in Wexford and then in Waterford from 2007. He holds an Irish passport and was training to be an electrician. After he was arrested in April, the district court heard that his wife, who was also born in the UK, was pregnant with the couple's first child.

Mr Bal pleaded guilty on Friday to unlawfully providing €400 in funds, using an An Post/Western Union money transfer, in Co Waterford on October 2 of 2015 to a Stevo Maksimovic in the city of Brako in Bosnia-Herzegovina, intending or knowing that the funds would be used in whole or in part for the benefit or purposes of the terrorist group known as Islamic State or DAESh. This offence carries a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment, on indictment.

He also pleaded guilty to unlawfully and wilfully attempting to collect or receive cash from a person known to him as Omar Abu Aziz, by means of telephonic communications and an intermediary at an address at 2 Geron Way, London NW2 6GJ, knowing that the funds would be used in whole or in part for the benefit or purposes of Islamic State. That offence was committed on October 23 of 2015.

The teenagers used encrypted messaging app Telegram to chat about fighting for Isis in Syria.

A group of teenage jihadists who planned to travel to Syria to fight for Isis were arrested after their school notified anti-terror police.

Ahmedeltigani Alsyed, 20, and Yusef Alsyed, 18, from Feltham, Middlesex, have admitted terror charges, while Mohammed Ali and an unnamed 17-year-old were jailed at earlier hearings.

Woolwich Crown Court was told on Thursday (11 January) that the brothers prepared for jihad with paintball sessions and took out gym subscription to "increase their fitness".

The unnamed 17-year-old worked as a Deliveroo driver and had planned to sell his Playstation to fund his trip to Syria.

While 18-year-old Ali booked plane tickets and travel documents and believed that his death would "achieve martyrdom", reported the Daily Mail.

The Met's counter-terror unit investigated their plans after assessing online communications on encrypted messaging app Telegram.

Under a group called "Peace" the group prepared for their trip until they were arrested in January 2017 ahead of their trip to Turkey on 14 February.

Yusef told Ali in one message: "if you get martyrdom before me please tell Allah I love him".

The gang had contacted a terrorist fixer in Yemen, discussing how to travel to Syria or Libya, and packed camping gear in preparation for the trip.

According to the Daily Mail prosecutor Annabell Darlow, QC, said Yusuf, 18, came to the attention of police through the government anti-extremism programme Prevent.

The prosecution said that Ali had a "very sad and very traumatic childhood" whose friend told authorities about his plans to leave the UK.

The Alsyed brothers admitted preparing to commit acts of terrorism, disseminating a terrorist publication and possessing information likely to be useful to a person preparing acts of terrorism.

Ahmedeltigani also admitted possessing information likely to be useful to a person preparing an act of terrorism. They will be sentenced on 9 March.

Ali and the 17-year-old admitted preparing acts of terrorism at an earlier hearing although they told the court they wanted to fight for other extremists, not Isis.

Ali was jailed for four years and two months and the 17-year-old was detained for two years and eight months at the Old Bailey last November.

Kaikessa hiljaisuudessa tiedustelupalvelut ovat perustaneet tilannekeskuksen, joka aloitti toimintansa viime vuoden tammikuussa. Sisäministeriön elokuussa päivätyn tiivistelmän mukaan, myös Suojelupoliisi on lähettänyt virkamiehen Hollannissa sijaitsevaan tilannekeskukseen.

Tilannekeskus sijaitsee Hollannissa paikassa, jota ei kerrota julkisuuteen turvallisuussyistä. Tiedustelupalveluiden yhdyshenkilöt istuvat samoissa tiloissa nyt koko ajan, kun aiemmin he tapasivat toisiaan säännöllisesti.

Umar Haque -nimistä ISIS-musulmaania syytetään terrori-iskun suunnittelusta Lontooseen. Häntä avustivat Abuthaher Mamun ja Nadeem Patel, joihin Haque oli tutustunut itälontoolaisessa moskeijassa. Muhammed Abid tiesi syytteen mukaan suunnitelmista, muttei kertonut niistä viranomaisille.

Islamic State group terror plotter 'tried to radicalise 11-year-old pupils'

An Islamic State group follower accused of plotting terrorist attacks at London landmarks also showed beheading videos to children worshipping at a mosque where he taught, a court has heard.

Umar Haque hoped to radicalise the youngsters and allegedly encouraged them to carry out violent role play against the police.

The 25-year-old is accused of planning an attack in the capital and having considered potential, targets including Big Ben, the Queen's guards, Heathrow, the City of London, Westfield shopping centre, Transport for London and Parliament.

Haque was allegedly helped with his planning by Abuthaher Mamun, 19, while Nadeem Patel, 26, agreed to provide Haque with a firearm, their trial at the Old Bailey was told.

Muhammad Abid, 27, is accused of failing to tell the authorities of Haque's plans.

Mark Heywood QC, prosecuting, said Haque had resolved in 2016 and early 2017 "to carry out one or more violent attacks in this country, with others if he could".

"His motivation, says the prosecution, was just that same motivation that drives the banned Islamic State group. And it was, at its heart, religious, political, perhaps other motivations as well.

"He hoped, Mr Haque, in due to course to be able to inspire others to join him in one or more than one significant violent attacks on targets in this country - including on both civilian, police and other targets."

Haque knew Mamun and Abid from the Ripple Road Mosque in Barking, east London, while he knew Patel from the local area.

The prosecutor said: "Mr Haque was fascinated by the warped and extreme ideology of the Islamic State. As he later told the police after his arrest, he was their loyal follower.

"He is a man who agrees with the thinking and aims of that organisation. He is a man who has spent a very great deal of time considering how to further those aims, including by violence."

Audio records showed that Haque had spent a "great deal of time" planning an attack and had  "identified methods and targets", the trial heard.

Mamun set about raising money to help fund Haque's plans, while Patel became involved when Haque decided he needed weapons, the court heard.

Mr Heywood said Haque's plans "extended to the recruitment of yet others to the causes. Those others were not grown men, but youngsters. Youngsters aged about 11 to 14."

Cuspert on vannonut lojaaliuttaan Isis-johtaja Abu Bakr al-Baghdadille sekä toiminut saksalaisten taistelijoiden päävärvääjänä.

Taiteilijanimellä Deso Dogg tunnettu räppäri on yksi tunnetuimmista länsimaista Isisin riveihin lähteneistä taistelijoista ja on esiintynyt useilla terroristijärjestön propagandavideoilla. Videoilla hän on muun muassa pidellyt käsissään murskattua ihmisen päätä, esittänyt uhkauksia Barack Obamalle ja Saksan kansalaisille sekä kannustanut länsimaissa asuvia muslimeja tekemään terrori-iskuja.

Saksalais-ghanalaisen miehen nimi tuli julkisuuteen myös keväällä, kun hänen uutisoitiin avioituneen Yhdysvaltain liittovaltion poliisin FBI:n kääntäjän Danielle Greenen kanssa. Kääntäjän piti vakoilla saksalaisräppärin toimia, mutta hän karkasikin miehen perässä Syyriaan kesällä 2014. Greene pidätettiin välittömästi, kun tämä pakeni Syyriasta takaisin Yhdysvaltoihin.

Man charged with terror offence

A 36-year-old man from south-east London is to appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 24 January charged with a terrorism offence.

Anthony Small, 36 (28.06.81) was charged with encouraging acts of terrorism under section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006 in connection with a video posted on social media in September 2016.

It follows an investigation by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command.

Anthony Small, British Boxer, Sold Champion Gloves to Try and Join ISIS

Anthony Small, a retired British boxing champion, has been accused of attempting to travel to Syria and join ISIS and is now facing terrorism charges.

Small, along with friends Michael Coe and Simon Keeler, was busted in 2014 when law enforcement officials found out the trio had falsified travel documents, according to the Daily Mail.

"The prosecution's case is they intended to travel to Syria to join and support what is called Islamic State of Iraq and Levant, known as ISIL or ISIS," prosecutor Richard Whittam said at the start of the trial, adding that Small was a former British and Commonwealth boxing champion, according to the BBC.

"That is relevant because he was, moving up towards the time of the arrests in November, selling some of his memorabilia, boxing gloves and boots and the like," Whittam said, implying that Small was selling the items to fund his trip to Syria.

The 33-year-old allegedly planned to join ISIS but called his trip off when he broke his hand two days before he was scheduled to leave, the Daily Mail noted.

Small also allegedly published an online article and video sympathizing with the terrorist group. The article, entitled "Attacks By Muslims in Perspective," and the video justifies ISIS' beheadings of journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, saying it "wasn't unprovoked," Metro U.K. reported. To prevent ISIS "retaliation," Small suggests that the Western world "stop interfering in lands that are not their own."

Suspected Boko Haram attacker arrested in Germany

A 27-year-old Nigerian man suspected of being a member of Boko Haram and killing people in Nigeria during attacks on schools and a village has been arrested in Germany, the federal prosecutor said on Friday.

The man, named as Amaechi Fred O., was detained on Wednesday in Bavaria and a day later a judge issued an arrest warrant and ordered that he be remanded in custody, the chief federal prosecutor said in a statement.

"He is strongly suspected of being a member of the foreign terrorist organization Boko Haram," the statement said.

It said Amaechi Fred O. was believed to have joined Boko Haram in 2013 and had admitted to actively taking part in four attacks against Nigerian civilians during his one-year membership of the group.

He is accused of killing several people during two attacks on schools and one attack on a village and taking part in another attack on a village, during which members of Boko Haram took girls as hostages and burned down a church.

Boko Haram has been trying since 2009 to establish an Islamic state in northeast Nigeria, from where it has launched attacks and suicide bombings in Niger, Chad and Cameroon. More than 15,000 people have been killed and millions displaced.

Frenchman jailed for 10 years for plan to stab sailors

A Paris court on Monday sentenced a 27-year old Frenchman to 10 years in jail for planning to stab sailors in Toulon, the biggest naval base on the Mediterranean.

The court ruled that Hakim Marnissi must serve a minumum of half his sentence, the longest possible under the law, after finding him guilty of criminal conspiracy with terrorist intent.

He was arrested in 2015 after receiving parcels containing balaclava helmets and a knife with a 10-centimetre blade.

The judges considered there was sufficient evidence to conclude he had a "plan to commit an attack" at the Toulon naval base, home to 70 percent of the French fleet and 20,000 military and civilians personnel.

He aimed to stab sailors and "die as a martyr", they concluded.

During a period of unemployment after a breakup, Marnissi, who worked in fashion, became socially isolated, spending most of his time at home on his computer.

In 2013 he started attending a mosque, where he met Mustafa Mokeddem, who had spent several months in prison for threats against Charlie Hebdo satirical weekly and had bought knives to "butcher" the cartoonists.

In 2014, at Mokeddem's urging, he tried twice to travel to Syria and, having attracted the intelligence services' attention, was banned from leaving France.

While in detention he told police that Mokeddem, who had settled in Syria, encouraged him to launch an attack in France.

He retracted the statement in court, claiming he had been tricked by the police and denying there was any plot.

Sainsbury's shop assistant jailed for encouraging terrorism on WhatsApp

A Sainbury's shop assistant who sent WhatsApp messages glorifying and encouraging terrorism has been jailed.

Teenager Iftikhar Ali was charged with 12 counts of transmission of a terrorism publication after being arrested in December 2016.

Ali sent multiple audio files, containing Nasheeds (songs). They included For the Sake of Allah and Give Our Regards to Abu Bakr and Oh Islamic State You Light the World.

A judge sitting at the Old Bailey heard that the 19-year-old from Totteridge, High Wycombe, Bucks., sent the text messages between September and October 2015.

A spokesman for the South East Counter Terrorism team said that Ali was sentenced to three years and six months at a Young Offenders Institution.

'Ali was found guilty in December 2017 of 12 counts of transmission of a terrorism publication, contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006 and one count of possession of a document likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000, following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing South East.

'The sentences for each count were ordered to run concurrently,' said the spokesman.

'Between September and October 2015, Ali sent several WhatsApp messages which glorified acts of terrorism. Upon his arrest in March 2016, he was found in possession of a publication likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.'

18-year-old Sandeep Samra has been jailed for three and a half years on the charge of preparing to commit terrorist acts.

An teenager who planned to travel to Syria to commit terrorist acts has been jailed for three and a half years.

Sandeep Samra, 18, of Alder Road, Coventry, admitted planning to travel to Syria in preparation of terrorist acts at Birmingham Crown Court.

She claimed she was going to work as a nurse, but messages were found where she wrote "May Allah give me death in this cause".

The Muslim convert was reported to an anti-extremism team by teachers.

Samra, formerly a health and social care student, admitted planning to travel to Syria but claimed it was for nursing, not violence.

However, extreme content, including Isis execution videos, was found on her phone.

Judge Melbourne Inman QC said Samra, originally of a Sikh background, was effectively "training" herself to watch the "horrific" material, which he said "deeply radicalised" her.

Prosecutor Sarah Whitehouse QC told the court that WhatsApp messages found on her phone in 2015 showed that Samra, then 16, "had become a supporter of Islamic State".

MfD: Former Prague imam, his relatives accused of terrorism

The Czech police have accused former Prague imam Samer Shehadeh, his brother Omar Shehadeh and the brother's wife Fatima (formerly Kristyna Hudkova) of terrorism and the latter two of joining a terrorist group fighting in Syria, daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD) wrote on Tuesday.

All the three suspects are Czech citizens, the two men are of Palestinian origin. They have been prosecuted as fugitives, the paper writes, citing the Czech National Centre for Organised Crime (NCOZ).

The former imam helped his brother and the brother's wife travel abroad, join a terrorist group in Syria and he approved their actions, MfD writes.

Omar Shehadeh travelled to a war zone in Syria, via Jordan and Turkey, in October 2016 and joined the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham group, a successor to Al Nusra, in Idlib. He was trained in fighting with arms and then chosen for training for committing terrorist attacks, the paper writes.

Before his departure, Omar lived in Mratin, a small village near Prague.

Samer Shebadeh fled the Czech Republic in October 2016 when the police showed interest in him over a message he sent through the WhatsApp application to Czech Muslims, warning them against taking part in a Christian religious service. He keeps hiding in Mauretania, the paper writes.

Muneeb Alrawi, head of the Czech Centre of Muslim Communities, distanced himself from Shehadeh if he had any possible links to terrorists, MfD writes.

Alrawi said he has not had any contact with Samer Shehadeh for at least two years.

He told the paper the Muslim community registered Shehadeh's fundamentalist views in the past.

The accusation of Samer Shebadeh may have far-reaching consequences for the rather small Muslim community in the Czech Republic, Miroslav Mares, an expert in extremism, told MfD.

"He was a person with a high position in the Muslim community and with a considerable influence. The community has always been telling it is moderate. Now this image seems to crack. We should not ignore it and the secret services should monitor the situation, especially if these people returned to our territory," Mares said.

Apart from names, the list includes the date ISIS recruited them, their last likely address including the mosque at which they have been praying while away fighting, their mother's name and any photographs, the report said.

Putin attack foiled: Russia's FSB kills ISIS terrorist plotting election day strike

RUSSIAN security services say they have thwarted an Islamic State (ISIS) plot to carry out an attack during next month's presidential election.

A statement issued by the Russian FSB said officers had shot dead a suspected ISIS militant who "provided armed resistance" as they tried to arrest him in the city of Nizhny Novgorod.

The agency said it found a powerful improvised explosive device, bomb-making equipment, guns and ammunition after searching the location where the man was killed.

The suspect was reportedly "prepared to carry out" an attack on March 18, when Russians head to the polls to vote in the presidential election.

The FSB added the alleged jihadist was from an unnamed former Soviet republic but did not provide any further details.

Saudi Who Attended Qaeda Camp Is Arrested in Oklahoma

A Saudi immigrant who attended Al Qaeda's most notorious training camp was arrested on a charge of lying to the F.B.I. and on two counts of visa fraud in Oklahoma, where he had been living for years with his family, federal law enforcement officials announced Tuesday.

The F.B.I. discovered the man, Naif Abdulaziz M. Alfallaj, only recently, when the authorities matched his 15 fingerprints to those taken from a document captured in Afghanistan, the officials said. The document was a five-page application for the Farooq camp, where four of the Sept. 11 hijackers trained.

He apparently filled out the application in September 2000, when he was a teenager, the officials said, well after Al Qaeda had made its intentions of attacking the United States and its allies known to the world. Anyone who tried to join the camp would have known that Al Qaeda was a terrorist organization, law enforcement officials said. The United States military recovered the document at a Qaeda safe house in Afghanistan in December 2001, prosecutors said, who added that the document had an emergency contact for Mr. Alfallaj's father in Saudi Arabia.

Typically people who applied to the camp filled out what was known as a "mujahedeen data form." They needed an invitation to join the camp and a reference from someone known and trusted by Al Qaeda. Trainees learned how to use weapons and explosives at the camp. After training, camp attendees fought with Al Qaeda or the Taliban in Afghanistan. Osama bin Laden and his top deputies frequently visited the camp.

Mr. Alfallaj, 34, used a fraudulent visa to take private flying lessons in October 2016 in Oklahoma, according to federal court records. Noncitizens are required to submit fingerprints as part of the licensing process. The Federal Aviation Administration revoked his license last year after the F.B.I. made the discovery.

Mr. Alfallaj was arrested Monday and made an initial appearance in federal court in Oklahoma City. A message left with a public defender assigned to represent Mr. Alfallaj was not immediately returned.

A RADICALISED young Bangladeshi woman was wearing a black burqa when she stabbed a sleeping man in an Islamic State-inspired attack in Melbourne, police say.

His five-year-old daughter was present at the time.

Momena Shoma, 24, allegedly stabbed the 56-year-old man in the neck and shoulder while he was asleep at his Mill Park home on Friday afternoon.

"I'm led to believe she was wearing a black burqa," Victoria's Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Ross Guenther told reporters on Saturday.

The Bangladeshi national has been charged with engaging in a terrorist act as it's alleged she was inspired by terror group Islamic State.

"We will allege she was ISIS-inspired," Australian Federal Police's acting Deputy Commissioner of National Security Ian McCartney said

"So she has been inspired by the doctrine of ISIS.

"When that radicalisation actually occurred will be a real focus of the investigation."

The diminutive Shoma faced court on Saturday and was remanded in custody.

Police say she travelled to Melbourne from Bangladesh on a valid student visa on February 1.

She was renting a room at the victim's Callistemon Rise home while she was studying at Latrobe University.

A neighbour raised the alarm after hearing a commotion at the house about 4.30pm on Friday.

Emergency crews arrived, arresting Shoma at the scene and giving the injured man first aid.

The man is in a serious but stable condition after having surgery at Royal Melbourne Hospital.

College student is jailed for 18 years after helping ISIS plot a pressure-cooker bomb attack on New York City

A college student will serve 18 years in prison after he admitted to plotting a bomb attack in New York for ISIS.

Munther Omar Saleh, 22, admitted to scheming to help the terror group hit New York landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty.

He was sentenced on Tuesday in federal court in Brooklyn.

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty last year to charges of supporting terrorism.

As part of his guilty plea, Saleh admitted that he had sought to communicate with and support the group and assaulted a federal officer.

Prosecutors said he escorted a co-defendant to an airport for a planned trip to join the Islamic State group overseas (the co-defendant was arrested before he could join the group), researched how to build a pressure-cooker bomb and discussed potential landmarks as targets with an Islamic State recruiter.

'I'm in NY and trying to do an Op,' Saleh told a confidential source in an intercepted conversation, according to court papers.

Later, Saleh charged, while armed with a knife, at a federal officer who was watching him, prosecutors said.

'Saleh attempted to turn our city into a staging ground for violent attacks,' William Sweeney, the assistant director in charge of the FBI's New York field office, said in a statement.

Brooklyn US Attorney Richard Donoghue said Saleh's sentence would deter 'those who contemplate waging violent jihad in New York City at the direction of a foreign terrorist organization.'

Saleh's lawyer, Deborah Colson, said her client was relieved that the case was concluded.

'Mr. Saleh is sincerely remorseful, and he is committed to making amends,' she said in an email.

Saleh, an American citizen, was a college student when he was arrested in 2015.

His case was linked to five other conspirators in New York and New Jersey.

At least four of them have also pleaded guilty.

In a letter to the judge earlier this year, Saleh said he was drawn to the Islamic State group because he saw it as an 'Islamic resistance movement' amid the Syrian civil war.

The four alleged 'IS' supporters are believed to have known Berlin Christmas market attacker Anis Amri. The trial is expected to offer insights into the Islamist scene in the German capital.

The Berlin Court of Appeals on Thursday began hearing the case involving four suspected "Islamic State" sympathizers who wanted to go to Syria to fight alongside the jihadis.

German law, amended in 2015, outlaws any attempts — successful or not — to leave the country to join a terrorist organization and considers it a "serious act of violence endangering the state."

The men — two Turks, a German Moroccan and a German citizen — are said to have regularly visited the infamous "Fussilet" Mosque in the German capital, suspected of being a meeting point for radical Islamists, including Berlin Christmas market attacker Anis Amri.

Amri, a Tunisian national who killed 12 people and injured dozens more, frequented the mosque, according to authorities. The mosque, which has been under surveillance since 2015 for its suspected links in recruitment activities, was sealed by the law-enforcement authorities last year.

Unsuccessful bid to reach Syria

The men facing trial in Berlin — identified only as Soufiane A, Emrah C., Resul K. and Feysel H., in accordance with German privacy laws — are said to have had no direct links to Amri.

19- ja 22-vuotiaat terroristit joutui vastaamaan oikeuden edessä Wienissä suunnitelmistaan iskeä St. Pöltenin poliisiasemalle. Heidän tarkoituksenaan oli perustaa Itävallan kalifaatti yhdessä ISIS-johtajien kanssa ja todistaa olevansa ISIS:n arvoisia.

Kaksi nuorta olivat suunnitelleet tekoa tsetseenien ISIS-johtajan Abu Nuuh:in kanssa sosiaalisessa mediassa. Molemmat nuoret radikalisoituivat vuoden 2015 aikoihin. Kesällä 2015 Abu Nuuh antoi nuorille tehtävän iskeä ISIS:in nimissä itävaltalaisessa pienessä kaupungissa poliisiasemalle. Nuoret vannoivat kuuliaisuusvalan (Baya) ISIS-miliisille.

– Suunnitelma oli ampua poliiseja niin kauan kuin elämme. Meille oli selvää, että poliiseja tulee kuolemaan, ja lopuksi mekin kohtaamme marttyyrikuoleman.

Nuoret olivat jo valinneet kohteensa, mutta sisäministeriöön tuli nimetön varoitus nuorten suunnitelmista ja poliisi ehti estämään suunnitellun teon.

'I Mean to Take as Many of Them Down as I Can': Muslim Teen Planned 'Maximum Fire' Terror Attack

A Muslim man who was part of a group seeking to "kill as many unbelievers as they can and impose Sharia law" used the Boston Marathon terror attack as his model, an Australian court has heard.

The claim was made during sentencing proceedings for Tamim Khaja, 20, who pleaded guilty in October to planning and preparing a terrorist attack two years ago.

The then 18-year-old was arrested while readying for a massacre, either at the U.S. embassy in Sydney, an Army barracks or at a court complex. It's alleged Khaja is close to imprisoned Islamic extremists Milad bin Ahmad-Shah al-Ahmadzai and his brother, Maywand Osman, who are also in custody on terrorism offences.

Video evidence was shown of Khaja appearing expressionless as he talks about murdering innocent people, ABC News reports.

He told undercover officers he was planning "maximum fire."

"I mean to take as many of them down as I can. I'm not going to stop firing... If there's like a two month old baby, or someone holding a baby, I'm just trying to think if that's true, I wouldn't buckle in that situation."

Khaja started planning the terror attack after a failed attempt to travel to Syria to fight with Islamic State in 2016.

He wrote to an unidentified man: "I am so sad I couldn't come. My heart has been broken. I wanted so badly to be on the battlefield with my brothers.

"I am thinking more along the lines of Boston Marathon... I know how to make a portable microwave b..b [sic]... Even with a handgun I would be able to cause a lot of damage."

He said instead he would fulfil his "obligation" in Australia, telling the person he was sourcing a glock pistol but was arrested later that month by NSW Police.

Counsel for the defendant, Ian Temby QC, tendered to the court a list of recent sentences handed down to other men who had been convicted of terror offences.

In response, Justice Fagan told the court that Australia had "been under attack for 15 years by about 40 Muslim men, to kill as many unbelievers as they can and impose Sharia law."

The trial comes in the wake of the pre-Christmas terror attack in Melbourne where the Afghan refugee responsible  "attributed his actions to perceived mistreatment of Muslims."

New Zealand Muslim community shocked by Christchurch teen's terror plot

A plot by a teenager radicalised online to ram a car into a group of people in Christchurch and then stab them has shocked the New Zealand Muslim community.

The 17-year-old boy, who didn't go through with the terror plan, was sentenced to intensive supervision at the Christchurch District Court yesterday.

He was radicalised online and told police he'd "done it for Allah".

Court-imposed suppression orders prevent further details from being published.

Hazim Arafeh, president of the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand, today admitted that he was alarmed by the plan.

"We knew there was a bit of risk [to terrorism in New Zealand] but we used to think it was minimal. But obviously it was a bit more than we thought," he told Newstalk ZB.

Arafeh wasn't concerned about a backlash to the Muslim community, but said they were "still shocked".

"We certainly don't want to see these events or actions in New Zealand," he said.

Arafeh believed the teen could be rehabilitated and agreed with the judge's decision to impose wide-ranging suppression orders to help the boy get his life back on track.

The boy's youth was the main reason he was "led into this destructive ideology", Arafeh said. And he stressed that the Muslim community would promptly report any suspicious or concerning behaviour.

"We don't waste time when it comes to these things," he said. "We actively cooperate with all New Zealand government agencies that are related to these kinds of incidents."

The teenager has been sentenced to intensive supervision with a list of conditions, which if breached, could lead to imprisonment.

The Muslim community is applauding a judge's decision not to send a radicalised teenage boy to prison for a violent attack in Christchurch last July.

Police said he terrified a large number of people, but all details of the attack have been suppressed.

The teenager was sentenced in the Christchurch District Court yesterday to two years' intensive supervision.

Federation of Islamic Associations president Hazim Arafeh said that was the right thing to do.

"Sending him to prison would deprive him [of] the proper help that he needs.

"He will be receiving some proper Islamic counselling which we believe will help him overcome his radicalisation."

Mr Arafeh said the Muslim community in Christchurch will help monitor the boy, and exactly how he would be de-radicalised was still being worked out.

"This young man has been very misinformed about Islam and our role is to provide the proper information.

"He's been scammed."

Mamdoh A. -niminen syyrialaismies on nyt Bayreuthin käräjäoikeudessa syytettynä terrori-iskun suunnittelusta. Oikeudenkäynti vuonna 2015 Saksaan saapunutta turvapaikanhakijaa vastaan alkoi jo helmikuun alussa. Syyttäjän mukaan Mamdoh suunnitteli terrori-iskua Saksaan tai Syyriaan.

Poliisi pääsi Pegnitzissa asuneen Mamdohin jäljille sattumalta. Poliisi teki Mamdohin asunnossa kotietsinnän muun asian tiimoilta ja löysi pomminteko-oppaan ja Isis-videoita. Miehen puhelimesta löytyi myös lapsipornoa, ja hän oli ajanut autoa ajokortitta.

Mamdoh pidätettiin kesäkuussa. Tänään keskiviikkona oikeudessa kuullaan jutun viimeistä todistajaa, lääkäriä, jonka omistamaan taloon Pegnitzissa alaikäiset turvapaikanhakijat sijoitettiin.

Lääkäri oli tutustunut hyvin Raqqasta kotoisin olevaan Mamdohiin, joka oli oppinut nopeasti saksan kielen ja halusi työskennellä apteekissa.

Viime kesänä nuori mies oli kuitenkin muuttunut radikaalisti ja katkaissut yhteytensä lääkäriin.

Syyttäjä vaatii Mamdohille kahden vuoden ja kymmenen kuukauden rangaistusta.

Israelin tiedustelu otti keskiviikkona kunnian ISIS:n iskusuunnitelman estämisestä. Israelin pääministerin Benjamin Netanjahun mukaan maan asevoimien salamyhkäinen yksikkö 8200 oli vastuussa ISIS:n juonen paljastamisesta ja ratkaisevien tietojen toimittamisesta Australian viranomaisille.

The Russian Security Service (FSB) say they have prevented a string of terrorist attacks targeting public places and public transport. A suspect from Central Asia has been detained.

Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the suspect, for fear of compromising the ongoing investigation.

In December, seven alleged supporters of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) were apprehended on suspicion of plotting attacks across St. Petersburg.

Terrorists have targeted the northern Russian city repeatedly over the last year. Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) claimed responsibility for an improvised explosive device that injured more than a dozen people at a store in St. Petersburg just days before the city rang in the new year. In April, a bomb attack killed 15 commuters riding the St. Petersburg Metro.

Lonely hearts couple who plotted Isis attack in Britain jailed for total of 26 years

An internet dating couple who plotted an Islamic State-inspired bomb attack over the Christmas holidays have been jailed.

Munir Mohammed was handed a life sentence with a minimum of 14 years and Rowaida El-Hassan was jailed for 12 years with five more years on extended licence.

Mohammed volunteered for a 'lone wolf' UK mission as he chatted on Facebook with a man he believed was an IS commander.

He enlisted the help of pharmacist Rowaida El-Hassan, drawing on her knowledge of chemicals needed to make a bomb after seeking her out on dating website SingleMuslim.com.

At the time of his arrest in December 2016, Mohammed had two of the three components for TATP explosives as well as manuals on how to make bombs and ricin poison.

Mohammed, 36, of Leopold Street, Derby, and mother-of-two El-Hassan, 33, of Willesden Lane, north-west London, denied preparing terrorist acts between November 2015 and December 2016.

But following an Old Bailey trial, a jury found the pair guilty of the plot in January.

The court heard that Mohammed arrived in Britain in the back of a lorry and claimed asylum in February 2014.

Illegal asylum seeker who shared ISIS video showing how to make the Manchester Arena bomb on Facebook is jailed for nine years

An illegal asylum-seeker has been jailed after using Facebook to spread an ISIS bomb-making video that showed how to make the same explosive used in the Manchester Arena attacks.

Zana Abbas Sulieman, 26, was sleeping rough in a storage unit in an underground car park 100 yards from Paddington Green police station - the police station formerly used to interrogate terrorism suspects.

Police discovered he was working illegally on a nearby market but was using his Apple iPhone to post deadly ISIS propaganda on social media.

In total, detectives found 32 Facebook accounts linked to Sulieman that contained terrorist-related material.

Three months after the Manchester attack, he used Facebook to publish an instructional video about how to make a viable improvised explosive device.

He was caught after he accepted a friend request on Facebook from an undercover police officer on August 7, 2017.

On the account, in the name 'Zedan Kurdi Abbas', the officer found a 14mins 57secs bomb-making video which provided 'detailed instructions on producing an IED in the kitchen using hydrogen peroxide and ball bearings,' prosecutors said.

It featured an ISIS flag in the corner of the screen and at the end of the video the viewer was urged to have a 'clear intention', maintain faith and he would be rewarded by Allah.

The video was published on the Facebook account with the comment, 'Making explosives is very important for local operations'.

The Forensic Explosives Laboratory (FEL) assess that the video provided 'sufficient instructional information for use in the manufacture of the high explosive material TATP, a viable detonator, and their use in the construction of an IED.'

As Sulieman was jailed for nine years at Kingston Crown Court, Commander Dean Haydon, head of Scotland Yard's Counter-Terrorism Command, said he was 'prolific' in his sharing and promotion of ISIS material and propaganda on social media.

'But what was of most concern was that he viewed and shared a video showing how to make a bomb, and encouraged others to follow and carry out the instructions,' Mr Haydon said.

'He was a dangerous individual and I have no doubt that the public is safer with him behind bars.'

In one exchange, Suleiman was asked: 'Brother can you send the video of making explosives to me?'
