UMP unveils ideas for secularism

THE UMP party has produced a total of 26 propositions which cover areas such as funding and the relationship between religion, the state, the public and the workplace.

The party's debate on the issue of religion, Islam and France drew criticism for stigmatising Muslims and protests were held. Here is an outline of the UMP proposals:

Three propositions for a balance between a secular state and religious freedom

1. First proposition: a parliamentary vote to demonstrate MPs' attachment to and approval of the 1905 law separating church and state.

2. Second proposition: collect together the myriad laws, rules, government circulars and legal rulings concerning religion and the state in France to clarify various positions.

3. Third proposition: to create a code of law specifically for religious freedom and the state that would outline the rules in particular areas such as the work place, public spaces, the home etc.

UMP:n depatti aloitus floppasi mm. pääministeri ja monet korkeanluokan poliitikot kieltäytyivät ottamasta osaa UMP-puolueen avaustilaisuuteen. Syynä he pitivät sitä, että depatti stigmatisoi islamin.

Ranskan sisäministeri Claude Guéant onkin jo aloittanut oman depattinsa aiheesta väittäen, että kasvava muslimiväestö pitää sisällään ongelmia.

Vättämä onkin jo niin stigmatisoiva, että SOS Racisme on jo nostanut kanteen sisäministeriä vastaan.

Muslim row over minister's speech

THE INTERIOR minister Claude Guéant has been accused of Islamophobia and dishonouring France after saying the growing population of Muslims in the country 'poses problems'.

His comments were made on the eve of a debate within his party, the UMP, on Islam and secularism in France.

UMPssä löytyy taas yksi todella rohkea mies, puheenjohtajakandidaattii J-F Cope. Hän nimittäin sanoo että Ranskassa esintyy nykyään 'anti-white'-rasismia:

Jean-Francois Copé, candidate to be the next leader of the UMP, has published a paper in which he criticises "anti-white racism" in France.

The current secretary general of the UMP, who hopes to be elected president of the party in two months, says he realised he is "breaking a taboo" by talking about anti-white racism in the paper called "Manifesto to destigmatise the right".

Extracts in Le Figaro Magazine reveal an anecdote Copé tells of a mother in his hometown of Meaux, north east of Paris.

The mother opened her front door one day to a teenager who pushed his way into the house and stole her son's game console.

After speaking to the parents of the teenager and several neighbours to get the console back, she was told "get lost if you're not happy, Gaul woman."

"[This] is just as unacceptable as other forms of racism, and we should talk about it, like we condemn all other forms of discrimination," Copé wrote.

"These kinds of things are not obvious when you live in Paris, in media and political spheres where the majority of the directors are French and white, born to French parents.

"In these microcosms, the lack of diversity limits the presence of people of colour, or of foreign origins. But let's look at the reality before us - the opposite situation is found in lots of areas in the suburbs."

The paper also prioritises education in France, talks about the work of Sarkozy and Chirac and suggests what the UMP should become now.

Olin vähän aikaa matkoilla enkä seurannut hommaa! Ranskan tilanteesta ei voi muuta sanoa kuin, että sitä saa mitä tilaa! Eli Ranska on tämän Eurabia-projektin isä ja du Gaulle oli se joka aloitti koko touhun. Olisiko jo korkea aika katsoa vähän peiliin?

Tämä tuli mieleen kun Ranskassa kauhisteltiin muslimien mielenosoitusta USA:n suurlähetystön ulkopuolella sen takia, että Elysé-palatsi on ( minun tietojeni mukaan ) ihan lähellä suurlähetystöä. "Kuka päästi nämä ( huutavat ja riehuvat safistit ) ihmiset näin lähelle Elysé-palatsia kysyttiin lehdissä?

Kysymys on väärin asetettu ja oikea kysymys kuuluu " Kuka päästi nämä ihmiset Ranskaan?". Vastaus tähän kysymykseen löytyy onneksi hyvin läheltä, eli koko sopan on keittänyt sarja kokkeja, jotka ovat asuneet juuri Elysé-palatsissa!
