(by Paola Del Vecchio) (ANSAmed) - MADRID, DECEMBER 8 - The reported capturing of a Muslim women in Reus (Tarragona) and the issuing of a stoning sentence for adultery by religious fanatics are a gauge of a phenomenon that has already appeared in Holland and France, and which is now taking root in Catalonia: the creation of Islamic "moral brigades" by fundamentalists, who claim the role of judges and police officers imposing a strict observance of Sharia, or Islamic law. The theatre of the incursions of these Islamic "moral patrols" are the rural towns where the mosques are controlled by Salafists, a fundamentalist sect of Islam, with a substantial presence in the province of Tarragona. These groups are heavily inspired by the Koran and the rigid regulations applied in countries such as Saudi Arabia and Nigeria. Confirming investigators' worries are several disturbing episodes reported by police. Specifically, on November 14, nine alleged Islamic extremists were arrested, accused of having captured and sentenced a Northern African woman to death after convicting her of adultery. The investigation, still in the preliminary phases, is classified. However, according to reports in the media, the woman was captured and held for three days in an abandoned factory, and then in the home of the group's spiritual leader in Reus, where she was tried before an "Islamic tribunal" made up of seven people, who found her guilty of infidelity and sentenced her to death by stoning. The woman, who was pregnant, managed to escape and call the Catalonian police, the Mossos d'Esquadra, for help, and she is currently under their protection. In the meanwhile, the operation against the fundamentalist cell is ongoing. Investigators have warned that the phenomenon of these "brigades", which could increase, has not only been found in Tarragona, but also in the provinces of Girona and Segarra, where mosques are controlled by Salafites. Many of the victims do not dare report their persecution, and intimidation continues for them. Investigators have confirmed beatings and segregation by their parents or spouses of women who do not wear veils, and the case of a Moroccan teenager who was beaten because he played football with other non-Muslim children. No niin. Suomen maahanmuuttoviranomaiset nyt ottamaan oppia muiden virheistä. Mehän (eikä pelkästään ME hommalaiset, vaan muutkaan suomalaiset) emme kai halua tätä Suomeen? Kuinka vastaava kehitys voidaan Suomessa välttää? Onni onnettomuudessa meidän kannaltamme on se, että meillä on vielä verraten vähän maahanmuuttajia ja siten aikaa niille toimenpiteille, joilla tällaiset lieveilmiöt vältetään.

ANSAmed) - MADRID, JANUARY 28 - Threats, intimidation and slander used against a Moroccan university professor residing in the small town of Cunit (Tarragona), "guilty" of not wearing a Muslim veil. On these charges, the preliminary investigations section of the Vendrell (Tarragona) court has ordered that the imam of the Cunit mosque, Mohamed Benbraim, stand trial. The public prosecutor has requested five years in prison for the imam and four for his second-in-command, the president of the Cunit Islamic Association, Abderraman El Osti, as well as two for the imam's wife and son, Zohra Ahmaddach and Haffsa Ben Brahim, accused of intimidation. According to judicial sources quoted today by the media, the individuals had made a normal life impossible for Fatima Ghailan, a 31-year-old Muslim born in Morocco but cultural mediation teacher in the Cunit Town Council, since she did not wear a Muslim veil and both she and her children were friends with Spanish inhabitants and not Muslim ones, in this way - according to the imam - cutting herself off from the Muslim community. Fatima suffered threats, pressure and intimidation to the point of having to ask for police protection. Due to the threats and defamatory campaign she suffered, Ghailan became deeply depressed and was assigned a police escort, which has since been withdrawn. While awaiting the trial, the woman avoids leaving her house alone. (ANSAmed).

Eivät ne vääräuskoista kyttää ole huoletta. Mutta, kyttäävät mitä kyttäävät silti niille ei ole mitään tilausta täällä "vääräuskoisten pahassa maassa". Jos niitä siltikin ilmestyy niin meidän alkuasukkaiden pitäisi vastaavasti kehittää alkuasukaspartiot kyttäämään niitä kyttääjiä. Mitään en vihaa tässä maailmassa enempää kuin stasilaisia kyttääjiä. Argh!

SPAIN: SEVEN CHARGED OVER SHARIA COURT RELEASED
(ANSAmed) - MADRID, MARCH 12 - The seven Moroccans charged with having set up a court of Sharia law in Valls (Catalonia) and of having passed a death sentence on a women accused of adultery, have today been released. The committal judge at Tarragona Court was forced to overturn their imprisonment after the woman who had brought the charges failed to appear in court to identify them for the third time, say court sources, cited by the EP agency. The woman, of Moroccan citizenship, disappeared without trace last November and is thought to have returned to live in Morocco, although the police in that country have not been able to trace her. The charge brought against the seven men, who were facing the prospect of 23 years' imprisonment for kidnapping, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a crime, is entirely based on the inquiry conducted by the Catalan police force, the 'Mossos d'Esquadrà, who had corroborated the 'probable' existence of a Sharia court at Valls. The court has, however, left the case open, as well as the accusations against the seven men, who are now free to leave custody. (ANSAmed).

Seitsemän miestä olivat syyttäneet naista aviopetoksesta ja julistaneet hänelle kuoleman tuomion. Uhrina ollut nainen on kuitenkin kadonnut kuin maan nielemänä eikä näin ollen ole ilmestynyt oikeuteen todistamaan kyseisiä miehiä vastaan. Tuomioistuin onkin joutunut vapauttamaan syytetyt.

Espanjan Chartagenassa paikallinen imaami on aloittanut jihadin prostituoituja vastaan. Syytösten mukaan imaami on lähettänyt "muslimivartijoita" estämään katutyttöjen työskentelyn, hän on mm. yllyttänyt uskovaisia loukkaamaan prostituoituja sanallisesti ja uhkailemaan heitä väkivällalla.

Paikallisessa lehdistössä tapausta on alettu kutsua "prostituution vastaiseksi jihadiksi".

Espanjassa prostituutio on laillista, mutta esim. paritus ei.

Imam accused of launching 'jihad' against prostitutes in Spain

An imam who has launched a "jihad" on prostitutes, encouraging women to harass the women in a city in southern Spain, is facing a restraining order to prevent him from harassing them.

Street walkers in Cartagena, on Spain's southern Mediterranean coast, have complained that the imam of a local mosque has launched a campaign of intimidation to get them off the streets.

Yazid Koudri, president of the Islamic community of Cartagena and the imam of the Ennour mosque, has been accused of sending a team of "Muslim guards" onto the streets to prevent the women from working.

Police confirm that they have received several complaints from prostitutes working in the streets around the mosque, including one woman who claimed the imam had tried to run her over in his car.

Others said the imam sent a team of his faithful onto the streets encouraging them to "insult the sex workers" and "threaten violence".

Mr Koudri has openly lobbied authorities to crack down on the red light district, which has emerged on several streets around the mosque in what local newspapers have termed a "jihad against prostitution".

Last month, he presented a petition to the city hall, calling for more policing of the area. The letter had more than 200 signatures, believed to be collected from among the 300 people who regularly worship at the mosque.

"We are not against what these women do," Mr Koudri stated. "But ask that they don't do it in the streets where our children walk."

Members of the mosque have reportedly been placed at the entrance to streets favoured by prostitutes to prevent any Muslim passing through, an act which the women complain has led to a drop in clients.

The local prosecutor has applied for a restraining order to prevent the Imam going within 200 yards of the sex workers.

Prostitution is legal in Spain, although living off earnings derived from prostituting other people is not.

Espanja on vissiin erehtynyt ottamaan maahansa loisia vääränlaisia. Prosessi pitää pystyä kääntämään takaisinkin. Tai jos ei niin tuollahan syttyy sisällissota aivan kohta. Tosin Espanjalla on siitä kokemusta jo historiasta.
