This person, who repeatedly violated the rights of the Somali journalists, and a number of times victimized vulnerable journalists is now in Finland, where he has reportedly seeking for asylum.  It's believed that he applied for the asylum request with the help of an organization by the name Vikes.

Who we are?

The Finnish Foundation for Media and Development (known by its Finnish acronym 'Vikes') is a journalists' solidarity organization devoted to supporting freedom of expression around the world by drawing on the expertise of Finnish journalists. Vikes does this work in developing countries, and at the same time raises awareness among people in Finland about freedom of expression and development. It also provides training for journalists from EU countries on freedom of expression and development issues.

We are the only Finnish development cooperation organization specialized in freedom of expression and media. Our aim is to focus on freedom of expression as the cornerstone of human rights and democracy. Most of Vikes funding comes from the development budgets of the EU and the Finnish Foreign Ministry. We have collected about a million euros from donations and voluntary work. Donations from private companies are also crucial to sustaining our activities.
