Horrific events in the UK now demonstrate the consequences of Western "sensitivity" towards Islam. Last week a report revealed that at least 1400 children had been subjected to sexual torture in the northern England town of Rotherham between 1997 and 2013. The perpetrators were mostly Pakistani men. Professor Alexis Jay's report found cases of "children who had been doused in petrol and threatened with being set alight, threatened with guns, made to witness brutally violent rapes and threatened they would be next if they told anyone."

Rotherham has a population of 250,000. You would think during those 16 years of systematic sexual abuse that someone might have noticed or that some of the victims and their families would have come forward. And, in fact, many did. But authorities, following the "no loud denunciation" rule, largely ignored them. Aside from the jailing of five men for sexual offences against girls in 2010, the attacks just continued.

Denis MacShane, the Labour MP for Rotherham from 1994 to 2012, explained why: "There was a culture of not wanting to rock the multi-cultural community boat, if I may put it like that. Perhaps, yes, as a true Guardian reader and liberal leftie, I suppose I didn't want to raise that too hard." Nobody did. According to Professor Jay's report: "Several staff described their nervousness about identifying the ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought as racist; others remembered clear direction from their managers not to do so."

It wasn't just council staff who were aware children were being abducted and raped. Everybody knew. Absolutely everybody. "As soon as I commenced in April 2005 as Rotherham's first director of children's services, I was briefed by politicians, senior managers and frontline staff about the issue of sexual exploitation of young people," Sonia Sharp revealed last week. "We knew that there were many children in the community at risk."

So what happened next? Nothing, basically, apart from a truly outstanding level of bureaucratic blame-avoidance. "There was a lot to do," Sharp said. "Shifting attitudes, raising the quality of services for these vulnerable children, improving early identification and strategies for prevention ..."

Please stop. (Sharp, incidentally, has since found subsequent employment in Australia. She's a deputy secretary with the Victorian education department.)

Timidity is ongoing, even in the report's wake. UK writer James Delingpole noted a BBC item on the Rotherham outrage ran for 20 paragraphs before mentioning the ethnic identity of the perpetrators. Not to be outdone, a piece on the ABC's AM program last week took 23 paragraphs before this line appeared: "Most of the offenders in Rotherham were from the town's Pakistani community." And then there was this classic line from The Guardian: "The scale of the sexual exploitation revealed in the Jay inquiry is shocking, but let's avoid racial stereotyping."

Do these people ever consider that there just might be one or two things even worse than the dreaded racial stereotyping? Such as the destruction of 1400 young lives, for example?

By avoiding issues of ethnicity and faith, we avoid a proper examination of wrongs committed by members of certain ethnicities and faiths. As Mark Steyn put it: "Not every Muslim wants to chop your head off. Not every Muslim wants to 'groom' your 11-year-old daughter. But these pathologies nest within Islam, and thrive at the intersection of Islam and the West." He's right. And they will keep on thriving unless we get loud about it.

Rotherham researcher 'sent on diversity course' after raising alarm

The Home Office researcher was told to "never, ever" repeat evidence, contained in her 2001 report, that most of the perpatrators were Asian men


A researcher who raised the alarm over the sexual abuse of teenage girls in Rotherham more than a decade ago was sent on a 'ethnicity and diversity course' by child protection bosses who refused to act on her evidence.


The researcher, who was seconded to Rotherham council by the Home Office, was told she must "never, ever" again refer to the fact that the abusers were predominantly Asian men.


Speaking to the BBC's Panorama programme under the condition of anonymity, the researcher said that she identified more 270 victims of trafficking and underage prostitution by mainly Muslim gangs in Rotherham.


But, despite being sent to Rotherham Council, the report - based on interviews with underage girls seeking help from the council's anti-child prositution project, called Risky Business - was never published.

Kuvitelkaapa, jos Tampereella vähintään kerran viikossa 16 vuoden ajan joku nuori tyttö joutuisi tuntemattoman miesjoukon seksileluksi.
Jokaisessa yläkoulussa olisi vuosittain viisi uutta oppilasta, joiden elämä olisi ajautunut syöksykierteistä pahimpaan.
Poliisi, sosiaalihuolto ja koulu olisivat autuaan tietämättömiä asiasta.
Raiskauskerhot saisivat rauhassa kokoontua ja kierrättää uhrejaan, vaikka rohkeimmat heistä uskaltautuisivatkin poliisin puheille.
Poliisi luokittelisi näiden köyhien, päihteitä käyttävien ja lintsaavien alaikäisten puheet epäluotettaviksi eikä selvittäisi tapauksia.

Näin on käynyt Pohjois-Englannin Rotherhamissa, jossa 16 vuoden aikana ainakin 1 400 lasta (pääosin tyttöjä) joutui raiskausrenkaiden leikkikaluiksi.
Noin 250 000 asukkaan Rotherham on vain hivenen Tamperetta suurempi.
Raiskaukset alkoivat vuonna 1997 ja todennäköisesti päättyivät viime vuonna.
Viime viikolla julkaistun selvityksen mukaan uhrit olivat pääasiassa valkoisia englantilaisia ja raiskaajat lähes poikkeuksetta pakistanilaisia muslimeja.

Aamulehden jutussa on aika hyvin asian taustaakin, en muista, että mikään muu lehti olisi tätä tuonut esille:

Vuonna 1997 britit alkoivat metsästää institutionaalisia rasisteja, kun lontoolaisen mustan teinin Stephen Lawrencen murhatutkimukset eivät edistyneet ollenkaan.

Ensin Lontoon poliisi todettiin rasistiseksi: sen palveluksessa oli liian vähän etnisiä vähemmistöjä, sen tutkijat selvittivät innokkaammin valkoisiin kuin mustiin kohdistuneita rikoksia, mutta ottivat kiinni mieluummin mustia kuin valkoisia rikollisia.

Lontoon poliisin jälkeen muut poliisipiirit, sosiaaliviranomaiset, terveyspalvelut ja armeija joutuivat institutionaalista rasismia koskevien selvitysten kohteeksi.

Rasistiksi leimautuminen oli niiden johtajille varmin tie potkuihin.

Siksi Rotherhaminkin poliisi karttoi pakistanilaisista koostuneen joukon touhujen laajamittaista selvittämistä.

Peter Frost käsittelee uusimmassa kirjoituksessaan Rotherham:in järjetöntä touhua varsinkin viranomaisten taholta. Kirotut hyysärit ja mokuttajat, jos omaa vähänkin järkeä, niin ymmärtää, että maahanmuuttajia ei kannata haalia mistä tahansa valtavasti, jos kaiken lisäksi tiedetään muslimien usein syyllistyvän tällaisiin rikoksiin ja olevan huonommin kotoutuvia länsimaihin. Toivottavasti tämä tapaus järkevöittää ihmiset, mutta on valitettavaa, että miksi täytyy tapahtua jotain suurta ja vakavaa ennen kuin asioihin viimein puututaan. Eikö hyysärit ymmärrä, että ei rasismia vähennä tällaisen touhun läpisormien katsominen vaan asioihin on hyvä puuttua ajoissa. En tällä tarkoita kaikkia hyysäreitä ja mokuttajia vaan niitä typeryksiä, jotka täytyy asettaa vastuuseen. Toivottavasti myös Suomessa viranomaiset perehtyvät Rotherham:iin ja miksei myös muihin maihin, että millaisia ongelmia tai rikoksia usein maahanmuuttajat tai eri etniset ryhmät aiheuttavat, jotta niihin voidaan ajoissa puuttua.

Tämä taisi olla yksi ensimmäisistä uutisista, joka herätti minut maahanmuuton ongelmiin Ranskan katumellakoiden, somalien rikosten ja Tanskan pilakuvakohun lisäksi, mutta jo alusta lähtien olin hämmästynyt kuinka paljon maahamuuttajat tai vähemmistöön kuuluvat syyllistyvät raiskauksiin ja mikä pahinta joukkoraiskauksiin. There was thus growing pressure from above to root out racist politicians, racist police officers, and racist social workers ...

Antiracism is self-validating. On the one hand, it leads people to dismiss evidence that may undermine its view of reality. On the other, it strengthens its view of reality by encouraging people to create supporting evidence. There is no conspiracy. There is only the madness of ideology.

A victim of Rotherham's child sex abuse scandal confronted a man she says groomed her - but was left shocked when she was the one arrested.

The woman was shocked when she saw the man walking through the town's centre on Friday and decided to challenge him over the allegations.

But she was tackled by two police officers and pushed up against a wall during her 'thuggish' arrest, a witness has said.

A damning report released last month detailed how 1,400 children were sexually exploited in the area over a 16-year period.

The Times reported that a woman whose case is being investigated by authorities - but has not yet been interviewed - was arrested after tackling a man she says groomed her when she was 15.

A witness accused the police of 'acting like insensitive thugs', telling the paper: 'A police van came and six male officers piled out.

'Two of them dragged her away, handcuffed her, put her against a wall and then shoved her into the back of the van.'

Child sex abuse was endemic in Sheffield, says ex care worker

The sexual exploitation of teenage girls was "endemic" in Sheffield during the early 2000s, a former care home worker has claimed.

She told the BBC that girls were passed around organised groups of men and trafficked to other cities.

Her claims follow the publication of a report showing 1,400 children were sexually abused in nearby Rotherham.

Sheffield Council said it had taken action and South Yorkshire Police said it was working on 173 abuse cases.

Ruth, who has used a pseudonym to protect the identity of those who were in her care, worked at a home in the city for two years from 2002 until 2004.

Offered to men

She said her colleagues were powerless to stop the youngsters, aged between 13 and 14 years old, meeting groups of older men she said were of Asian heritage.

In one instance, she said a perpetrator rang the care home to describe the location of a girl who had been raped and left in a park.
