Mustien oikeusjärjestö CRAN on tuominnun Miss Ranska -kilpailun aivan liian valkoiseksi. Järjestön mukaan kilpaulu ei ottanut riittävästi huomioon Ranskan etnistä todellisuutta. Kilpailun 33 finalistista vain 8 edusti etnisiä vähemmistöjä.

Kaiken lisäksi kilpailun voittajankin oli poimittu pottunokkien joukosta.

Kaikkien ehdokkaiden olisi pitänyt esiintyä koko ajan mörköpuvuissa ja voittaja olisi pitänyt valita Koraanin tuntemuksen ja kotiorjan taitojen perusteella.

Eiköhän Ranskan etninen todellisuus ole yhä se, että suurin osa maan ihmisistä on valkoisia eurooppalaisia halusivat sitä eräät motivaatioiltaan epämääräiset järjestöt tai eivät. Sitä paitsi uskoisin, että aika monen neoranskalaisen naisen kohdalla on melkoisen ylitsepääsemättömiä kulttuurillisia esteitä osallistumiselle tuonkaltaisiin kisoihin. Niqabiin sonnustaunut nainen ei kuulostaa potentiaaliselta missiltä.

Ruotsalaisia naisia monet pitivät maailman kauneimpina, ennen kuin ruotsalaiset lihoivat. Osittain ruotsalaisia Miss Suomia on vaikka kuinka monta, esim. Janina Fry. Nykyään monet pitävät venäläisiä naisia maailman kauneimpina. Jos Miss Universe -kisat olisivat reilut, niin voittaja olisi yleensä noilta suunnilta.

Pitäisi tarkemmin perehtyä tähän missien valintaan, mutta varmaan eri maanosien missit on valittu asukkaiden ja raadin antamien äänien perusteella, joten tässä mennään helposti siihen, että Louis-Georges Tin on itse rasisti, jos alkaa kritisoimaan ihmisten oikeutta valita mielestään kaunein vaikka kauneimmaksi valittu olisi vaalea ranskalainen neito mustan naisen sijasta.

Vaikka nykyään kiimassa puhutaan paljonkin eksotiikasta ja sekarotuisuuden hienoudesta, niin siitä huolimatta käyttäytymistieteelliset tutkimukset osoittavat ihmisten tykkäävän enemmän samankaltaisen ulkonäön omaavista, joten tämä varmaan vaikuttaa myös osaltaan missien valintaan. Kuitenkaan se ei tarkoita, etteikö kantaväestöstä huomattavan erilaisen ulkonäön omaavaa valittaisi ja näin on tietääkseni tapahtunut paljonkin Afrikassa, Aasiassa ja muuallakin, että missiksi on valittu esim. eurooppalaisemman ulkonäön omaava.

En tiedä sitten, onko valinnan tehnyt raati vai onko huomattavan erilaisen ulkonäön omaava kansa vaan tykännyt enemmän eurooppalaisemman ulkonäön omaavasta ja valinnut eksoottisen missin. Tämä on sinänsä erikoinen ilmiö, että kasvavassa määrin Euroopassa tai länsimaissa osaltaan mokutuksesta johtuen valitaan esim. afrikkalaisen taustan omaavia misseiksi, kun Euroopan ulkopuolisissa maissa missit voivat olla vastaavasti eurooppalaisen näköisiä.

Alla on Bahaman edustaja Miss Global Teen 2012 kilpailussa vaikka maan asukkaista suurin osa on mustia. Tämä on varmaan esim. joidenkin mielestä hyvä osoitus mustien antirasistisuudesta tai sitten vaan kaunein oli tällä kertaa valkoinen nainen.

Tämä on varmaan kasvava ongelma myös Suomessakin, että meillä on kaikenlaisia mustien ja muiden ihmisryhmien jokseenkin rasistisia järjestöjä, jotka ajavat omia etuja ja näkevät rasismia vain kantaväestössä, kuten suomalaisvihamielinen Tessieri ja samalla tekevät kantaväestön elämää vaikeammaksi vaatimalla positiivista syrjintää ja kaikkea muuta vaikka parempi olisi, että nämä oikeuksien ajajat muuttaisivat takaisin synnyinmaahansa.

Kun tuolta TF1 tv-kanavan sivuilta katsoo kuvia kilpailijoista näyttävät ne varmaankin hyvin edustavan maanosansa ulkonäköä ainakin jossain määrin eli varsinkin emämaan ulkopuolelta on valittu afrikkalaisemman tai sekarotuisemman ulkonäön omaavia. Ranskassa taas, kuten jo moni muukin totesi on väestö vielä toistaiseksi suurelta osin eurooppalaisen näköinen ja kun varsinkin monen musliminaisen osalta missikisat ovat poissuljettuja uskontoon ja kulttuurin liittyvistä tekijöistä johtuen, niin ei sinänsä ole ihme ettei pohjoisafrikkalaisia naisia näy.

Kuten tuossa ylempänä jo Mursu mainitsi olivat tänä vuonna ensimmäiset Miss musta Ranska kisat, johon myös Louis-Georges Tin osallistui tuomarina. Pitäisi tähänkin kisaan ja valinta perusteisiin tarkemmin perehtyä, mutta on kuitenkin mielenkiintoista, että missikisat olivat selvästi rodulliset, koska kisat olisivat voineet olla yleisesti kaikkia tummemman ihonvärin tai kaikkia afrikkalaisia koskevat, kuten myös niitä pohjoisafrikkalaisia.

The Siddhi of Karnataka, exhibit typical Negroid features like dark skin, dark frizzly/woolly hair, flat nose with broad nostrils, scanty facial and body hair. The Siddhi men and women have moderate stature and lean body build.

Human is unique and is an ancestral gift. Biometric recognition system can use race in identifying the human globally with a particular identity. This paper proposes an algorithm for classification of people into three major races namely Caucasoid, Negroid and Mongoloid, which can easily be integrated into any face recognition system. Firstly, the proposed classification method extracts the distinct primary facial feature, skin color model, and the other secondary features such as forehead and lip of the given face to effectively classify the races. Extensive simulations on images obtained from Yale, FERET and other sources exhibit superior performance of the proposed method.

Black female bodies are devalued in a sexual marketplace that reifies whiteness, especially white femininity (Nagle, 1997). The young, blonde, lithe, busty, white woman is constructed as the most valuable sexual commodity. As seen at the AVN Adult Expo, white women's bodies arethe primary currency of the multi-billion dollar adult entertainment business. They are the focus of companies like Vivid, Hustler, and Wicked,and they are the 'cash cows' for an industry that is immensely lucrative for major US corporations such as AT&T, TimeWarner, and DirectTV that profit from selling hardcore over pay-per-view cable channels, video on demand, the internet, and in millions of hotel rooms each year (PBS Front-line, 2001a; PBS Frontline, 2001b). Although they are fetishized for their difference, the bodies of women of color hold much less currency for these corporations because they receive significantly less demand compared to white female bodies. The devalued status of black female bodies is significantly evident in wage inequalities, and this is one of the sorest issues for black women sex workers in the business.

Our finding that white women who do not fit conventional norms of beauty (i.e.  those who are not thin or athletic-looking) are much more likely to include black men as possible dates than other white women is consistent with the notion that cultural ideals about beauty shape racial preferences. Much research has shown that, in dating and marriage markets, physical  attractiveness is a more valued trait for women than men (Stewart, Stinnet and Rosenfeld 2000).  Therefore, an openness to dating black men among these white women may actually reflect their knowledge that they do not fit the conventional beauty standards that appeal to white men.

Among white women, one of the most striking findings is that white women who describe themselves as slim, slender, athletic, fit or average are nearly seven times as likely to exclude black men as dates as women who describe themselves as thick, voluptuous, a few extra pounds, or large.

The U.S. Department of Justice compiles statistics on crime by race, but only between and among people categorized as black or white. It should be noted that the "white" category in the Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) includes non-black Hispanics. There were 194,270 white and 17,920 black victims of rape or sexual assault reported in 2006. Out of the 194,270 cases involving white victims, 50.6% had white offenders and 16.7% had black offenders, while the 36,620 black victims had a figure of 43% black offenders, the remaining being of other or unreported race, with a negligible number of white offenders. Gary LaFree's rape data for the 45-year period revealed that blacks were arrested for rape an average of 6.52 times more often than whites.

"Fifty years ago, when everything white was right, it should have come as no surprise that little black girls preferred white dolls – as psychologist Kenneth Clarke showed in his seminal 1954 experiment. But it came as a disheartening surprise in 2005 when a similar experiment by a racially conscious high-school student, Kiri Davis, showed that little blacks still preferred white dolls. After all, one would have expected the pervasive influence black culture has had on white culture in recent decades to change such self-loathing preferences."

This is how I began a January 5, 2010 commentary entitled Black is Beautiful! Just Not in South Africa. I went on to express my dismay over the results of a survey which found that, when South African adults were asked to name the 10 most beautiful celebrities in the world, only one black woman, Thandie Newton, made the cut at number 10 ... and she's half-white.

Now comes an even more disheartening manifestation of this self-loathing pathology. For of all of the beautiful, dark-skinned women in Haiti, officials there crowned a black one on May 16 who looks even whiter than Thandie to be the new Miss Haiti.

Martin examined the relationship between racial group membership and judgment of female beauty by males. He asked a panel of judges to rank ten facial photographs of black females from least Negroid to the most Negroid. The least Negroid type was understood to have the most Caucasian appearance. After the judges ranked the photographs, three groups of men, fifty American whites, fifty American blacks and fifty African (Nigerian) blacks were asked to rank the photographs according to attractiveness.

The results were striking. They strongly support the proposition that American whites and American blacks share a common esthetic standard - the Caucasian facial model - for judging beauty, at least of the female face. Also confirmed by this study is thesis that Caucasian features are considered more attractive than Negroid features in American society today. However, the African group rated Caucasian facial features less often attractive than did either American group.

To the physician, as well as the public, there is confusion about the meaning of the word "race" as applied to man. The biologist, however, who studies insects, plants, and other kinds of organisms about which there is no reason for emotional controversy, is not confused. To him a race is a collection-basically a group of individuals of both sexes definitely associated with a place of origin, habitually interbreeding and possessing a historical continuity in the reproduction of the general type. These individuals tend not only to look alike but to behave similarly.

The concept of race includes differences in observable external characters, in behavior, in growth time, and in other variables, all of which are genetically determined. In the long run, these variations serve to suit races to different environments or to different phases of a single environment. Near the Arctic circle people are uniformly short; peoples native to areas of greatest heat and sunlight tend to have dark skin and eye colors. The nose of an Arab would probably freeze were he to spend a day outdoors in Siberia, while flat faced Tungas are able to withstand such extreme cold.

In a study of facial features, skin color and attractiveness, Neal (1988, cited in Neal and Wilson, 1989) found that "unattractive women were perceived as having darker skin tones than attractive women and that women with more Caucasoid features were perceived as more attractive to the opposite sex, more successful in their love lives and their careers than women with Negroid features" (Neal and Wilson, 1989:328).

From a larger sociological perspective, studies by Keith and Herring (1991), Bond and Cash (1992), and Taylor (1993) find that European racial features including skin color, nose shape and hair texture are generally preferred among both minority and majority groups, perceptual outcomes being that higher social acceptance levels result.

However, Leeds' (1994) study shows that the impact of the "Black is Beautiful" slogan was short lived, particularly where hair is concerned. Her study showed that African American female adolescents believe that women who wear naturally curly short hair either do not care about their appearance, or want to look masculine.

Banks (2000) conducted an empirical study of African American women's hair and found that, "The 'good hair' and 'bad hair' distinction is probably the most indelible construction of hair that occupies the psyche of African Americans" (p. 29). In American culture, "good hair" is synonymous with manageable hair. Manageable hair is generally either straight or wavy hair. On the other hand, "bad hair" is equated with unmanageability, which is to say tightly coiled hair, "nappy" or "kinky hair".

There thus seems to be a linkage between eye color and face shape. This finding is consistent with findings for other European physical traits, especially bright or colorful facial features. These European traits—white skin, multi-colored hair, multi-colored eyes, and a less robust face shape—are actually female traits. They seem to be due to a selection pressure that first acted on early European women and then spilled over on to early European men. This phenotypic change affected both sexes because the traits in question are at most mildly sex-linked.

There is some ambivalence in societies where women do most of the agricultural labor. In such a context, wives tend to be chosen for their ability to work outdoors, especially in the sun, and less weight is given to other criteria, like physical beauty. This is true in most agricultural societies of sub-Saharan Africa and in New Guinea.

Se olisi tosiasiallista monimuotoisuutta. Tai sitten voitaisiin lakkauttaa nämäkin bileet turhina, säästyisi rahaa.

Niistä suurin osa on samanlaisia slummien asukkeja, joita ei yleensäkään missikisoissa nähdä, mutta kai suvaitsevat ranskalaiset nyt korjaavat tilanteen asettamalla kiintiöt lähiövalaita ja päihdeongelmaisia hutsuja varten.
