FBI: Five Men Arrested in Plot to Bomb Ohio Bridge

CLEVELAND—Five people were arrested and accused of conspiring to use explosives to destroy a bridge near Cleveland, Steven M. Dettelbach, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, and Stephen D. Anthony, Special Agent in Charge of the Cleveland Division of the FBI, announced today.

Douglas L. Wright, 26; Brandon L. Baxter, 20; and Anthony Hayne, 35, were arrested by members of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force on the evening of April 30, 2012, on charges of conspiracy and attempted use of explosive materials to damage physical property affecting interstate commerce. Also arrested were Connor C. Stevens, 20, and Joshua S. Stafford, 23, and charges are pending against them.

The public was never in danger from the explosive devices, which were controlled by an undercover FBI employee. The defendants were closely monitored by law enforcement. The explosives that the defendants allegedly purchased and attempted to use were inoperable and posed no threat to the public.

A criminal complaint was filed this morning in U.S. District Court in Cleveland.

According to that complaint, Wright, Baxter, and Hayne are self-proclaimed anarchists who formed into a small group and considered a series of evolving plots over several months.

The initial plot involved the use of smoke grenades to distract law enforcement in order for the co-conspirators to topple financial institution signs atop high rise buildings in downtown Cleveland, according to the complaint.

The plot later developed to the utilization of explosive materials. The defendants conspired to obtain C-4 explosives contained in two improvised explosive devices to be placed and remotely detonated, according to the complaint.

The defendants discussed various bridges and physical targets in and around the Cleveland metropolitan area over the course of several months. The final plan resulted in the Route 82 Brecksville-Northfield High Level Bridge being the designated target. This bridge crosses from Brecksville, Ohio to Sagamore Hills, Ohio over the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, according to the complaint.

"The complaint in this case alleges that the defendants took specific and defined actions to further a terrorist plot," said U.S. Attorney Dettelbach. "The defendants stand charged based not upon any words or beliefs they might espouse, but based upon their own plans and actions."

"The safety of the citizens of the Northern District of Ohio is and continues to be our primary focus. The individuals charged in this plot were intent on using violence to express their ideological views," said FBI Special Agent in Charge Anthony. "The Joint Terrorism Task Force will continue to be vigilant in its efforts to detect and disrupt any terrorism threat, domestic or international."

Wright, Baxter, Hayne, Stevens, and Stafford will appear before a federal magistrate in U.S. District court today, May 1, 2012, in Cleveland.

FBI mukaan heidän soluttautuja oli mukana ryhmässä alusta asti ja miehet suunnittelivat iskuja pitkän aikaa eri kohteisiin. Heillä ei tuntunut kuitenkaan olevan mitään hajua miten valmistaa tai hankkia räjähteitä - mm. yhden heistä kerrotaan arvailleen että "me tarvitaan vain jotain pesuainetta, siitähän toisen-maailmansodan kranaatitkin oli tehty". FBI:n agentti myi heille kaksi "C-4 pommia" 450 dollarilla. Heidät otettiin kiinni matkalla asentamaan niitä.

On mahdollista he tulevat käyttämään puolustuksessaan 'johdattelua' (entrapment) - siis sitä että viranomaiset auttoivat heitä suunnittelemaan ja toteuttamaan teon - apua jota ilman he tuskin olisivat päässeet näin pitkälle. Syyttäjän tulee luultavasti vetoamaan siihen että näyttöä heidän aikeistaan on riittävästi ja että heillä oli selkeä motiivi toimilleen.

Eikö kukaan teistä huomannut tämän uutisen pääpointtia? Vai oletteko sen verran sokeita että kun on mahdollisuus haukkua jotain "vasemmistoa"  niin mennään saman tien oikeisto vs vasemmisto ajatteluun eikä mietitä kokonaiskuvaa.

Ja koska FBI oli tämän jutun ratkasevassa roolissa, niin ottaen huomioon ettei se ole FBI:n eka kerta, voidaan todeta melko pitkälle että ei tämä ollut oikea ryhmä vaan nämä oli todennäkösesti mukaan yllytettyjä huumeidenpolttaja hörhöjä jotka lavastettiin tähän mukaan.

FBI ettii "mahdollisia terroristeja tai ryhmiä" ja tarvittaessa yllyttää niitä toimimaan. Toi johtaa nimittäin lopulta oikeudenkäyntiin jossa tuomitaan kasa "terroristeja" ja toi ylläpitää ihmisissä tätä "terroristit iskee, muista wtc" pelkoa.

FBI estää itsemurhapommittajan jonka piti räjäyttää ittensä mutta pommit oli saatu fbi:ltä eikä ne toimineet tietenkään.

Kävi ilmi että tyypin al-qaida kontakti oli tiedustelupalvelun agentti, pommit oli annettu tyypille FBi:n kautta ja ne ei toimineet, siinä oli itsemurhaliivi jossa leikkiräjähdettä. Tyypin suuri ja pelottava suunnitelma oli hyökätä ravintolaan, synagoogaan, johonkin sotilaiden kokoontumispaikkaan ja siten tappaa 30 ihmistä ja lopulta räjäyttää ittensä itsemurhapommiliivin kanssa joka oli kanssa saatu FBI:ltä.

* As the alleged plotters batted around assorted attack ideas--like bombing a "Nazi/Klan headquarters" or blowing up a Federal Reserve bank--Wright joked that he would wear a suicide vest and blow himself up, "but advised he would have to be very drunk."

* A local Justice Center was considered a good target, but a bombing there was rejected since the accused plotters believed "they would risk hurting inmates."

* Wright suggested using Google Maps to figure out the area near the Cleveland-area bridge "where the bombs will be dropped and the get-away route."

* Defendant Brandon Baxter, 20, mused that if the plotters were caught, "they will all go to Guantanamo Bay" and not a "normal prison."

* Baxter also "suggested getting tacks that they could throw out of the back of the car if they get in a chase." This getaway tactic was last successfully used in a Batman episode from 1967.

Noi district court records näyttäisi löytyvän netistä kaikki mutta pitäisi rekata enkä viitsinyt.
Muutamia kommentteja parilta palstalta kun luki niin aika monen mielestä olivat viranomaiset yllyttäneet näitä jotka ei itse olisi osanneet jotta saavat jutun aikaan.

Antaisitko kukaan vastuullinen ihminen tuollaisille miehille sytyttimiä, räjähdelankaa, aktiivisia komponentteja tai edes tuliasetta. Tai edes laukkua johon on kirjoitettu "pommi".

Yhdysvaltalaiseen oikeusjärjestelmään kuuluu peitetoiminta ja rikollisten avustaminen syytteiden aikaansaamiseksi ja varmistamiseksi. On hyvin todennäköistä että ainoa jolla on ollut vähänkään älyä on ollut liittovaltion agentti joka on kuukausipalkkansa eteen saanut kiinni joukon kannabiksella ja pontikalla aikaansaatuja sekopäitä.

Itse olen tavannut monta äärivasemmistolaista jotka ovat hirvittävän mukavia ihmisiä eivätkä millään lailla väkivaltaisia. Päinvastoin. Toisin kuin vaikka Arhinmäki, tuntemani äärivasemmistolaiset oikeasti elävät niinkuin saarnaavat. Tämä tekee heistä äärimmäisen mukavia ihmisiä, vaikka ideologisesti ovatkin tyhmiä kuin pässit. Onneksi heillä on äärioikeistolaisia sukulaisia jotka ovat jaksaneet rahoittaa äärivasemmistolaiset arvovalinnat.

Miehillä on päivä oikeudessa jossa he voivat esittää näkökantansa sillanräjäytykseen. Täytyy todeta että onneksi ei tarvi olla kuulemassa.

FBI: Three Men Sentenced to Prison for Roles in Plot to Bomb Ohio Bridge

CLEVELAND—Three men were sentenced to prison for their roles in a conspiracy to use explosives to destroy a bridge near Cleveland, said Steven M. Dettelbach, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, and Stephen D. Anthony, Special Agent in Charge of the Cleveland Division of the FBI.

Douglas L. Wright, 27, of Indianapolis, was sentenced to 11 ½ years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release.

Brandon L. Baxter, 20, of Lakewood, Ohio, was sentenced to nine years and nine months in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release.

Connor C. Stevens, 20, of Berea, Ohio, was sentenced to eight years and one month in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release.

All three men pleaded guilty earlier this year to conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction, attempted use of weapons of mass destruction, and malicious use of an explosive device to destroy property used in interstate commerce before U.S. District Judge David Dowd.

Anthony M. Hayne, 35, of Cleveland pleaded guilty in July to the same charges. He is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday.

According to court documents, Wright, Baxter, Hayne, Stevens, and Stafford are self-proclaimed anarchists who formed into a small group and considered a series of evolving plots over several months.

Stafford's case is pending while he undergoes an examination and competency hearing.
