Imaami Hassen Chalghoumi saarnaa rauhan puolesta, hän on myös tunnustanut holokaustain kauhut ja lähentynyt näin ollen juutalaisia. Mistä onkin kutsuttu Ranskassa rauhan-imaamiksi.

Viimevuonna Chalghoumi uskalsi julkisesti tuomita naamahuivit ja sen jälkeen elämä ei ole ollut entisensä. Drancyssä Ranskan köyhimmällä alueella asuva, Chalghoumi tarvitsee ympärivuorokautista poliisi suojelua radikaali islamistejä vastaan.
