"As much as some liberal journalist would like you to believe that we do what we do because we're simply monsters with no logic behind our course of action, the fact is that we continue to wage – and escalate – a calculated war that the West thought it had ended several years ago.

"We continue dragging you further and further into a swamp you thought you'd already escaped only to realise that you're stuck even deeper within its murky waters... And we do so while offering you a way out on our terms.

"So you can continue to believe that those 'despicable terrorists' hate you because of your lattes and your Timberlands, and continue spending ridiculous amounts of money to try to prevail."

Tämä ei tietysti ole mikään ISIS-kokoelma-ketju, mutta lueskelin samana iltana toisen artikkelin, jossa ISISin vankeudesta selvinnyt toimittaja (tai kuten jutussa tituulerataan "photographer") kertoo melko yksityiskohtaisesti omista oloistaan ja tovereistaan, joille kävi ISISin kynsissä huonommin. Iltalehti: Kirkkoiskussa papin tappanut terroristi haudattiin Pariisin liepeille

Paikalliset muslimiyhteisöt kieltäytyivät hautaamasta papintappajaa.

Toinen Pohjois-Ranskan kirkkoiskun tekijöistä on haudattu hautausmaalle Pariisin esikaupunkialueella. Kaksi nuorta miestä hyökkäsi Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvrayssa teräaseiden kanssa heinäkuun lopussa katoliseen kirkkoon kesken aamujumalanpalveluksen, viilsi 84-vuotiaan papin Jacques Hamelin kurkun auki ja haavoitti vakavasti toista uhria.

Poliisi ampui rynnäkössä molemmat islamistiterroristit kuoliaaksi.

Toinen tekijöistä, 19-vuotias Adel Kermiche, haudattiin perjantai-iltana Puiseux-Pontoisen hautausmaalle hiljaisuudessa, kertoivat paikallisviranomaiset.

Kirkkoiskun tekijöiden hautaamisesta on käyty Ranskassa kiivasta keskustelua. Viranomaiset ja seurakunnat eivät halua, että terroristien hautapaikoista tulee pyhiinvaelluskohteita muille jihadisteille.

Kermichen kotiseudulla Rouenissa muslimiyhteisö kieltäytyi kiivaasti hänen hautaamisestaan, koska terroristin ei haluttu likaavan islaminuskontoa. Kermichen suku omistaa hautaholvin Puiseux-Pontoisessa, jonne haudataan eri uskontojen edustajia.

- Noudatimme vain lakia. Perhe omistaa haudan hautausmaalla, ja laki takaa yksilölle oikeuden tulla haudatuksi riippumatta siitä, millaisissa olosuhteissa henkilö kuoli, paikallisviranomainen kommentoi.

Toinen kirkkoiskun tekijä, Abdel Malik Petitjean, on yhä hautaamatta. Hänen synnyinkuntansa ja kotikuntansa pormestarit eivät kumpikaan halua hänen ruumistaan alueelleen.

Nyt väitetään, että viranomaisilla oli Adel Kermiche seurannassa ja että juuri ennen tätä kirkkoiskua hän olisi tehnyt kirkkoihin kohdistuneita uhkauksia, mutta kukaan ei toiminut.

French Intelligence Agencies Knew of Islamic Radical Who Beheaded Priest, But Did Not Act

Three French intelligence agencies are alleged to have had prior knowledge of one of the radical Islamic terrorists involved in the murder of elderly priest Jacques Hamel in 2016 but due to poor communication, never shared their information.

The revelations come from well-known French satirical paper Le Canard Enchaîné which has had a history of breaking several stories including the "fake jobs" scandal of former French presidential candidate François Fillon.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that the Intelligence Directorate of the Paris Police Prefecture (DRPP) had been monitoring one of the attackers, radical Islamic extremist Adel Kermiche, on the encrypted messaging service Telegram as well as on social media.

It has also been alleged that both the Military Intelligence Directorate (MRD) and the Central Intelligence Service Territorial (SCRT) had Kermiche under surveillance for weeks before he participated in the murder of Father Hamel, Le Figaro reports.

Shortly before the attack, which occurred on July 26th 2016, agents from the MRD noticed that Kermiche had been making a number of threats against churches in particular. The information was passed on to the Central Directorate of Internal Intelligence but the agency did not act.

Five days before the attack, the Central Intelligence Service Territorial (SCRT) transmitted a message to police services saying that a man, whom they referred to as "Jayyed", was preparing an attack on a church. But due to the fact that emergency procedures were not followed, the information was not prioritised.

Shortly after the murder, the Roman Catholic church announced that Father Hamel had been a Christian martyr and the Archbishop of Rouen encouraged pilgrimage to his tomb.

Pope Francis has not only declared Father Hemel a martyr but also announced that he would begin the process to elevate the priest to sainthood.
