Hamburg sees first May Day clashes

In the night before May Day, clashes between police and leftist demonstrators in Hamburg left 14 people injured. In Berlin, however, the feared violence did not materialize.

Friday night's violence in Hamburg was centred around the city's Schanzenviertel neighborhood, where according to police some 150 left-wing demonstrators lit a bonfire in a street outside a youth centre, threw bottles and stones at police, and damaged a bank branch.

Thousands protest neo-Nazis on May Day

More than ten thousand demonstrators demonstrated against neo-Nazi marches on Saturday across Germany. Around 200 extreme right wingers were detained.

Fearing riots, police across Germany made efforts to separate leftist and neo-Nazi demonstrators in several cities across Germany.

In Berlin, neo-Nazis and people from the far-left spent hours vying for control of May Day demonstration routes through the German capital, although by early evening on Saturday, confrontations had mostly ended peacefully.

Violence, with brawls between leftists and rightists, burning barricades and damage to banks and shops, has been an annual ritual on May Day for more than two decades in Berlin, Hamburg and other German cities.

Arrests at Dutch Mayday demonstration

Up to 15 people have been arrested at a Mayday rally in the centre of the Dutch city of Rotterdam.

The demonstration had been organised by a number of marxist-leninist groups to protest against planned government cuts and against Geert Wilders' Freedom Party.

Some of the approximately 200 demonstrators were armed with batons, which was not allowed. When they were summoned by police to hand in their arms, a number of the protesters refused and began calling the policemen names.

Riot police intervened, using police dogs and mounted police.

Deputy-speaker of German parliament could face criminal charges

German prosecutors are considering whether to file criminal charges against Wolfgang Thierse, the deputy speaker of the German Parliament. Thierse participated in a sit-down blockade of a Neo-Nazi parade on May Day.

The head of the German police union on Monday called for the resignation of the deputy speaker of the German Parliament  Wolfgang Thierse for illegally blocking an approved Neo-Nazi parade in Berlin on May Day.

"He had deliberately placed himself in front of police vehicles and had to be removed forcibly," Rainer Wendt, the head of the German police union (DPolG), told N24 TV station. "That behaviour is simply unacceptable."

In addition, the Interior Ministry accused the 66-year old Social Democrat, who took part in a sit-in protest of around of 10,000 leftists and anarchists of displaying "arrogance towards the state."

Interior Minister Thomas De Maizière sharply criticized Thierse for failing to set a public example.

"No one is above the law," said De Maizière. "On the contrary, the deputy speaker of the German parliament must behave in an exemplary manner."

Attacks on police rise dramatically

The number of attacks on German police officers rose drastically last year, according to figures released Saturday by the federal police authority in Potsdam.

The number of police officers who were the victims of attack rose by 58 percent from 985 in 2008 to 1,555 in 2009, the police authority revealed. The number of attackers also rose significantly to 1,228, an increase of 65 percent.

This is the most offenders since the relevant statistics were first collected in 2000. In the last three years, the number has always stayed been 700 and 800.

The number of injured policemen saw a particularly large increase, with 462 injured – 130 percent more than 2008. Reports say that most of the attacks occurred on Fridays and Saturdays, with attackers frequently under the influence of alcohol. Only a quarter of the attackers were caught.

The head of the police union (GdP) Konrad Freiberg told news magazine Spiegel, "The police is increasingly becoming the target for people releasing their frustration and hate."

On Friday, the upper house of the German parliament, the Bundesrat, put its weight behind a law proposal to increase punishments for attacking police. The law, proposed by the representatives of Bavaria and Saxony, would increase the maximum punishment to three years' imprisonment. A punishment of five years' imprisonment is being proposed for attacks using "dangerous weapons."

Crime handbook provokes fear of increased left-wing violence

Police are trying to find the authors and distributors of what has been described as a criminal handbook full of tips for saboteurs on how to commit arson, stop trains and cut down electricity pylons without getting caught, according to Der Spiegel magazine.

The 80-page brochure called 'Prisma' has been circulated within largely left-wing groupings in the Berlin, Hamburg and the Lower Saxony  regions, according to the authorities who fear it may become instrumental in encouraging violence.

The use of sophisticated techniques such as deploying timers as well as several different kinds of inflammable material in arson attacks is discussed in the brochure, as are methods for cutting down electricity pylons and stopping trains by placing obstructions on the line.

There are also several chapters on how to avoid getting caught, outlining the investigation techniques of the police, and offering detailed advice on how saboteurs can avoid leaving clues and shake off those who might be tracking them.

The brochure, "encourages criminal acts with an until now unseen attention to detail and professionalism," said Hans-Werner Wargel, head of Lower Saxony's state intelligence service.

"This criminal handbook has reached a quality not previously seen," he told Der Spiegel.

The magazine noted figures which showed that the number of left-wing radical acts of violence rose by 53 percent in 2009. A grouping of federal and state interior ministers is planning to tackle the scene with an action plan, which has yet to be agreed.

Leftists called upon to attack tourism

Left-wing extremists are being urged to launch a 2011 campaign against Berlin's tourism boom by attacking hotels and tourist buses, as well as targeting visitors for petty theft, media reported Monday.

The latest edition of the left-wing radical newspaper Interim contains a "proposal for an anti-tourism campaign 2011," daily Der Tagesspiegel reported.

The campaign would include "swiping wallets and phones from tables in restaurants, setting fire to cars, attacking hotels, creating rubbish piles, throwing things at tourist buses."

The author of the statement in the paper argues that tourism is fuelling "gentrification," which is a growing complaint among the city's left-wing radicals, who argue that rising affluence can push poorer people out of districts in which they have lived for years.

Berliinin junaliikenteeseen kohdistuneet hyökkäykset ovat herättäneet pelon väkivaltaisen äärivasemmiston uudesta tulemisesta. Viime aikoina Berliinin rautateiltä on löytnyt yhteensä 18 palopommia. 16 pommia 18:sta epäonnistui räjähdyksessä johtuen huonoista sytyttimistä.

Vuoden 2011 ensimmäisen 3 kuukauden aikana vasemmiston tekemät iskut lisääntyivät 39% verrattuna edelliseen vuoteen ja väkivaltaiset toimet peräti 68%.

Selvitysten mukaan hardcore äärivasemmistolaisita militanteista 65% on alle 26 vuotiaita ja 84% miehiä.

'A Dramatic Wake-Up Call' Berlin Rail Attacks Fuel Fears of Left-Wing Extremism

The recent discovery of 18 firebombs along railtracks around Berlin has triggered a heated debate on left-wing extremist violence in Germany. For months German officials have been warning about radicalization of the far-left scene, which has seen an uptick in arson attacks.

Hardcore left-wing extremists primarily display two sociological traits: age and gender. Indeed, an evaluation of the personal details of 767 individuals, found in a recently compiled dossier of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution labeled "Violence-Prone Left-Wing Extremists," reports that 65 percent of all active left-wing militants are younger than 26 and that up to 84 percent of them are male.

These days, the left-wing scene has even become confident enough to openly discuss its clandestine actions. For example, at a "congress for autonomous policies" held in June in the western city of Cologne, participants admitted to "practicing and executing ... liberating" violence. One of the items on the agenda for discussion at the meeting also read: "Militancy -- We Stand By It."

Pidän äärivasemmistolaisia yhteiskunnan kannalta vaarallisempina kuin vaikkapa eurovaalien aikana jatkuvasti äärioikeistolaisiksi kutsuttuja puolueita ja poliittisia liikkeitä. Jälkimmäiset taitavat ainakin pääsääntöisesti tukea vallitsevaa yhteiskuntajärjestystä, vaikka eivät esimerkiksi maahanmuuttopolitiikkaa hyväksy.

Äärivasemmistolaiset taas pyrkivät väkivallalla aiheuttamaan yhteiskunnassa levottomuuksia ja lopullinen tavoite lienee aina vallan ja järjestyksen vaihtuminen. Mielestäni demokraattisten yhteiskuntien ei tarvitse kuitenkaan loputtomasti katsoa yhteiskuntajärjestyksen vastaisia liikkeitä vaikkei näiden ääriliikkeiden toiminnan rajoittaminen ei ehkä olisikaan ihan kaikkien demokratian pelisääntöjen mukaista.

Juu, sen ne vallanpitäjät osaa, niinkuin nämä Ulrika Mainhof ja Andreas Baader tekivät itsarin yhtä aikaa vaikka olivat eri selleissä. Tosin en oikein ymmärrä tätä äärivasemmisto -nimeä. Tuskin  ne liikkeet ovat saaneet istumapaikan eduskunnan istuntosalissa, jolloin tämä vasen-sana menettää merkityksensä.

Tämähän oli sitä hyväksyttyä väkivaltaa, joka ei kuulema kohdistu ihmisiin, mitä nyt joku Aldo Moro teurastettiin Punaisen Armeijakunnan toimesta ammoin. Ajankohtaisessa Kakkosessa esiintyneet punatytöt eivät semmoisesta tiedäkään tai eivät haluakaan tietää mitään. Punaterrorismi oli todellinen riesa 70-luvun Euroopassa.

En minä kovasti ihmettele, että kova kapitalismin nimeen vannova jokainen-on-oman-onnensa-seppä -yhteiskunta tuottaa kovia vastareaktioita. Saksassa punaterrorismilla on tunnettu historia ennen natsien voittoa. Toisinkin olisi voinut käydä.

Vaikka kannatan yksilönvapautta ja taloudellista vapautta, kansallisvaltio Suomen ei pitäisi mennä liian kauas pois pohjoismaisen hyvinvoinnin ideaalista, yhteisvastuullisuudesta ja välittämisestä.

Ongelma on vain siinä että tämä samainen vasemmisto, jonka riehaantumista tässä nyt pelätään/odotetaan, on omilla maailmansyleilytoimillaan tekemässä perinteisen hyvinvointivaltio-mallin mahdottomaksi. Yksinkertaisesti rahat loppuvat jos joudumme rahoittamaan lähes koko maailman ongelmat verorahoillamme.

En tiedä on tuo tahallista vai eikö vasemmisto yksinkertaisesti tajua asiaa.

Tajuavat kyllä. Vasemmiston taktiikka on aina ollut spam and destroy. Rippeistä sitten rakennetaan "sosialistiparatiisi".

M unohti mainita, että vasemmistoterrori on rehottanut paljon sotien jälkeenkin ja erityisesti Saksassa. Vasemmiston perimmäinen motiivi anarkialle ei ole ollut köyhyys tms. vaan ylipäätään kaiken vastustaminen. Erityisesti vasemmistonuorten keskuudessa organisointi on hyvin kevyttä eikä se ylety seuraavaa polttokohdetta tai spreijattua seinää pitemmälle. Jos he oikeesti saisivat vallan he eivät tietäisi mitä tekisi sillä. Vetoaminen köyhyyteen, jota esim. Saksassa ei tosiasiassa ole, on vaan keppihevonen ja halpaa puhetta.

Se mitä en ole ymmärtänyt, on miten vasemmisto kaikissa maasssa aina jämähtää jonnekin teiniprotestin tasolle. Koko vasemmistolainen liike on lapsellisen mustavalkoisesti ajatteleva, yhden totuuden, teiniangsteja purkaava, kouluttamaton, agitoinnista villiintyvä roskaporukka, joka kuvittelee että juuri heidän sukupolvi ja vallankumous pistää maailman kuntoon. Tällaista umpinaivia käyttäytymistä voi odottaa 14-15 vuotiailta muttei aikuisilta ihmisiltä.

Ilmeisesti vasemmisto onkin vaan kasa laiskoja ikiteinejä, jotka kiukuttelevat ja protestoivat kaikkea kun heille ei tarjota kaikki valmiina vadilla. Sekaan mahtuu sitten muutama fiksumpi poliittinen opportunisti, joka valjastaa nämä pahvipäät tuhoamaan paikkoja.

Ilmeisesti vasemmisto onkin vaan kasa laiskoja ikiteinejä, jotka kiukuttelevat ja protestoivat kaikkea kun heille ei tarjota kaikki valmiina vadilla. Sekaan mahtuu sitten muutama fiksumpi poliittinen opportunisti, joka valjastaa nämä pahvipäät tuhoamaan paikkoja.

Lisätään tähän määritelmään vielä jyrkkä kieltäytyminen ottamasta vastuuta itsestä ja omasta elämästä, niin mielestäni on saatu suht' tarkka kuva maalattua tavan anarkomarkosta/maijasta.

Luulisi vähän vaatimattomillakin ajattelunlahjoilla varustetun ihmisolennon ymmärtävän, ettei kaikenmaailman meuhkaaminen ja yksityisen/julkisen omaisuuden tuhoaminen (tai sen yrittäminen) ainakaan kerää sympatioita puolelleen. Ja ellei aate kerää kasvavasti sympatiaa ja kannattajia puolelleen, se on tuomittu jäämään pienen porukan näpertelyksi, kunnes - toivottavasti - kuihtuu ja katoaa pois.

Valitettavasti punaterrorismin uskottavuus koki inflaation kun NATO:n salaiset armeijat julkaistiin ja selvisi, kuinka suuri osa iskuista lopulta olikin false flag -operaatioita. Sitä oli osattu odottaa Blognan pommi-iskun jälkeen tehdyistä pidätyksistä saakka, mutta seikkaperäinen selonteko oli silti iso juttu.
