Lapsen isä on tiettävästi vain muutaman vuoden tulevaa äitiä vanhempi.
11-vuotiaasta tytöstä on tulossa Britannian nuorin äiti. Tapauksesta uutisoivan Mirrorin mukaan lapsen odotetaan synnyttävän lähiaikoina.

Tytön raskaudesta ei ole kerrottu julkisuuteen tarkempia tietoja laillisista syistä, mutta poliisin mukaan pian syntyvän vauvan isä on tiettävästi vain muutaman vuoden tulevaa äitiä vanhempi.

Police in Paris have launched an investigation after two men, a father and his son, were found with their throats slit in a trendy part of the French capital. Another son has been arrested in connection with the murders.

A man was arrested in Paris on Friday suspected of slitting the throats of his father and brother outside a building in the capital's trendy 11th district, police sources told AFP.

The sources, who asked not to be named because they were not authorised to speak publicly, said the reason for the attack was being investigated.

Police have called for caution to be taken before speculating over the motive for the double murder after it was reported that the knifeman shouted "Allahu Akbar" ('God is greatest', in Arabic).

The attacked happened on Rue de Montreuil in the east of the French capital.

Romanian crime gang which burgled Peterborough jewellers jailed for 47 years

Members of a Romanian crime gang which stole more than £3.1 million of property from jewellers in England, including one in Peterborough, have been jailed for a total of 47 years. The six men were today (Friday, March 17) jailed for conspiring to commit burglaries at jewellers spanning nine counties.

The men were sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court for the offences which included a raid on Fraser Hart in Queensgate on August 25, 2016 where around £192,000 worth of diamond rings were stolen.

On that occasion, five men broke in using sledgehammers at 3am in the morning.

Across the country, jewellery including watches, rings, necklaces and other items were stolen from branches of Beaverbrooks, Fraser Hart, Goldsmiths and independent jewellers in a series of 11 raids described as 'meticulously planned' by the detective running the investigation.

Cab driver knocked out and left lying in street after 'right of way' road rage row

A cab driver suffered a fractured skull after being knocked to the ground in a vicious "right of way" stand-off on  a narrow London road.

The bespectacled victim, 62, was today recovering in hospital after tempers flared when two vehicles both refused to give way.

The driver of the other car leaned through his window to land the first punch, before both men got out of their  vehicles.

The cab driver was then struck in the face with such force that he fell to the ground, hitting his head.

Witnesses said the attacker left his victim unconscious in the road and got back in his car and continued along Gleneldon Road in Streatham.

The road was blocked off for five hours after the incident, at 5.15pm on Friday, as police launched a hunt for the driver.

NHS worker Shafaq Hassan, 37, said: "I sat down next to the man and tried to talk to him but I could see his head was badly injured. He was in a daze. I said, 'Are you okay?' but he was silent for 20 minutes. When he put his hand up to the wound behind his ear blood was dripping down his fingernails onto his arm. I held on to his arm the whole time to let him know I was there for him."

The speech and language therapist said of the younger attacker: "I can't believe this man reacted so violently over some small traffic delay, it's just nasty. He needs to be found before he does this to someone else."

Residents have raised concerns about the pinchpoint in the road with MP Chuka Umunna.

Ms Hassan said: "The road is very narrow and so many cars come down here that it leads to a lot of stand-offs. There is a one-way section which a lot of people usually ignore and drive illegally down so we want more cameras to catch them."

The suspect is described as black, in his early twenties and around 5ft 8in tall with afro hair. He wore a jumper, black trousers and black shoes and was driving a dark green car.

Jailed: 'Predator' who pretended to be son of African king before sexually assaulting teen girls

A "predator" who groomed two teenage girls online before sexually assaulting them has been jailed for seven years.

Taheeb Udusole, 27, met his victims on social media while pretending to be a 17-year-old boy called Daniel who was rich due to his father being an African king.

The unemployed Nigerian offered the girls, aged 14 and 15, gifts and money while he sent taxis to collect them and bring them near his home in south-east London.

The victims, who did not know each other, both thought that 'Daniel' was their boyfriend and made their allegations to police independently.

Udosole was arrested last May and on Monday pleaded guilty at Snaresbrook Crown Court to one count of sexual activity with a 14-year-old and two with a 15-year-old.

He also received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order [SOPO] and will be deported at the end of his sentence.

Detective Sergeant Laura Hillier, the investigating officer, said: "Taheeb Udusole is a predator who claimed that he believed the girls were adult because neither arrived in school uniform. Both girls had told Udusole their age and he continued to force them to have sex regardless".

"Unaware that they were victims, these girls have gone through a traumatic experience and should be proud of the strength of character they have shown during the investigation and approaching trial. I hope that today's sentence brings them a measure of comfort and closure and that they can move on with their lives.

"We cannot be certain that there are not more victims who have suffered from the actions of this man who have not yet come forward. I would urge anyone who has been a victim to contact police immediately by dialling 101."

Police want to speak to these two women in connection with a spate of distraction thefts in Oldham.

GMP have released images of the women after reports of thieves distracting pensioners on the street in order to steal jewellery or cash.

The thieves grab their victims' attention with a number of tactics, including offering people cheap jewellery and placing it on their hands or neck.

They then steal the victim's own jewellery in the process.

The cuplrits have also been approaching people using cash machines and bump into them before stealing their cards, cash and wallets.

Another method has involved men and women screaming hysterically asking where the nearest hospital is.

They are joined by more offenders who steal from the victims.

Now officers have released these images as part of their investigation.

Det Con Matthew Adshead, from GMP's Oldham borough, said: "I want to assure residents and people visiting Oldham that we are doing everything we can to find the people responsible for these offences.

"Elderly people in particular are sadly being targeted and we understand crimes like this, where offenders prey on the trusting nature of innocent people, are distressing and can affect people's confidence.

"We have now released two images in the hope of identifying the women pictured.

"If you recognise them, have any information about them, or if you are the women in the pictures, then please contact police."

Greater Manchester Police have recorded 13 distraction thefts in the area from December 1, 2016, to February 28 this year.

In one incident the offenders pulled a ring and necklaces from 90-year-old woman on Hollins Road, on Sunday, February 26.

They duped the woman by asking her for directions, before they forced a ring from her finger and took three necklaces from around her neck.

Officers have been advising people to shield their pin at cash machines and to cover high value jewellery.

Anyone with any information about these incidents, or the women pictured, is urged to call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Brasilian lihaskandaali koskettaa Eurooppaa – Suomessa myynnissä brasilialaista naudan- ja broilerinlihaa

Myös suomalaisissa lounasravintoloissa on käytetty brassinautaa- ja broileria.

Suomalaiselle lautaselle brasilialainen liha kulkeutuu todennäköisimmin suurkeittiön tai ravintolan kautta.

Brasiliassa kahden suuren lihantuottajan ja usean pienemmän tuottajan lahjontaepäily. Brasilialaiset lihantuottajat olivat lahjoneet vuosien ajan viranomaisia ja poliitikkoja, jotta nämä eivät huomioisi mädäntyneen ja salmonellaa sisältävän lihan vientiä ulkomaille. Lihaa vietiin myös Euroopan markkinoille.

Suomessa S-ketjun valikoimissa on myynnissä brasilialaista naudan sisä-ja ulkofilettä.

– Olemme selvittäneet koko päivän tilannetta. Meillä on vähittäiskaupan lihavalikoimissa kaksi brasilialaista tuotetta eli naudan sisä- ja ulkofile. Nämä tuotteet on jäljitettävissä teurastamoille asti. Nyt käymme läpi tätä ketjua ja tarkistamme, että onko toisessa päässä epäilyjä, sanoo SOK:n kaupallinen johtaja Ilkka Alarotu.

Hänen mukaansa S-ketjussa lihalle tehdään jatkuvasti salmonella- ja tuoreustestejä, eikä mitään poikkeavaa ole löytynyt.

– Kaiken kaikkiaan brasilialaisen lihan osuus suomalaisessa vähittäiskaupassa on erittäin pieni, Alarotu kertoo.

Suomessa brasilialaista broilerinlihaa ovat käyttäneet muun muassa lounasravintoloihin keskittynyt Fazer Amica sekä S-ketjun ravintoloista Amarillo ja Fransmanni. Brassinautaa ovat käyttäneet niin ikään Amarillo ja Fransmanni. Tiedot perustuvat vuodelta 2016.

Tilanne on kuitenkin muuttunut alkuvuonna Fazer Amicassa. Yhtiö on luopunut brasilialaisen broilerin käytöstä lounasruuissaan.

– Emme käytä lainkaan brasilialaista lihaa. Meidän liha on yli 90 prosenttisesti suomalaista. Loppu on pääasiassa riistaa ja lammasta. Tämä perustuu meidän pitkän aikavälin lihanhankintasuunnitelmaan, joka hyväksyttiin viime vuonna, sanoo Fazer Food Servicesin hankintajohtaja Timo Ståhlström.

Hänen mukaansa Fazer Amicalla oli aiemmin valikoimissaan kolme broilerituotetta Brasiliasta, joten niiden määrä oli varsin pieni.

– Löysimme kotimaisesta tarjonnasta korvaavat tuotteet.

Hankintajohtaja Ståhlström arvioi, että jos joku jonkun alkuperä kiinnostaa suomalaista kuluttajaa, niin se on lihan alkuperä.

– Suomessa tuotetaan hyvää tavaraa ja se vastaa hyvin niitä tarpeita, mitä meillä on.

S-ketjun ravintoloiden lihanhankinnnasta vastaavan Meira Novan toimitusjohtaja Eero Raappana sanoo, että brasilialaisia lihatuotteita on käytetty tämän vuoden kahden ensimmäisen kuukauden aikana 0,09 prosenttia kaikesta lihasta.

– Meidän listallamme on yksi kypsennetty naudanlihasuikale, joka tulee kotimaiselta toimittajalta. Sitten löytyy neljä siipikarjatuotetta, jotka ovat kaikki kypsiä tuotteita. Muun muassa Snellmann myy näitä tuotteita.

Toimitusjohtaja Raappana sanoo, että brasilialaiset tuotteet voidaan poistaa valikoimista, koska niiden määrä on olemattoman pieni.

Hän pitää Brasilian tilannetta kaikkiaan erittäin huolestuttavana.

– Nyt tarvitaan ehdottomasti lisätietoa, mistä [saastunut] liha on lähtöisin ja, miten se on todettu. Brasilia on erittäin merkittävä lihantuottaja ja koko maan lihateollisuuden leimaaminen huonosti hoidetuksi on pelottavaa.

Kahdelle ählämille tuli Birminghamissa pientä kähinää liikenteessä elokuussa 2016. Tönimisen jälkeen Abu Taher lähti hakemaan toista miestä avukseen ja palasi tapahtumapaikalle. Myös Abbas Khan palasi paikalle haettuaan haulikon autostaan. Khan ampui Taheria muutaman metrin päästä haulikolla ja osui tätä käteen. Uhrin käsi saatiin täpärästi pelastettua amputaatiolta hätäleikkauksella, mutta se on kuitenkin ilmeisesti toimintakyvytön.

Abbas Khan sai 14 vuoden vankeusrangaistuksen.

Teenager gunned down motorist in horror road rage attack in Alum Rock

A TEENAGER has been jailed for 14 years after pulling out a shotgun and shooting a motorist in a horrifying road rage attack in Birmingham.

Abbas Khan, 19, gunned down Abu Taher after the pair had clashed in George Arthur Road, Alum Rock, after a minor traffic incident.

The shot victim, 29, needed emergency surgery to save his arm from being amputated and is now disabled.

Birmingham Crown Court heard the weapon used had never been found by police, but they did recover CCTV of the incident.

Khan, of Ellesmere Road, Alum Rock, previously admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a firearm with intent.

The court heard the shooting took place in the early hours of August 8 when a road rage incident between the men began with pushing and shoving.

Those involved left the scene but Mr Taher returned after recruiting another man to act as "muscle." Khan also returned - with a loaded shotgun taken from a car.

Judge Simon Drew QC said: "Mr Tahir approached you, that was on the CCTV footage. He was clearly unarmed and such danger presented to you was clearly limited.

"You could have run off but you didn't.

"Tahir was about 10 to 15 feet away from you. When he tried to persuade you not to fire at him you ignored that. He tried to turn to get away and you shot him.

"You caused serious physical and psychological harm. He was in immense pain, required operations and may require a further operation in the future.

Myös tämä toinen uutinen on Birminghamista. Poliisi pysäytti syyskuussa 2016 auton, jota ajoi Yasir Nassir ja jossa matkustajana oli Kuldipsingh Atwal. Poliisit huomasivat haulikon patruunoita auton jalkatilassa ja alkoivat tutkia ajoneuvoa tarkemmin. He löysivät kaksi katkaistua haulikkoa ja starttipistoolin. Lisäksi myöhemmässä kotietsinnässä löytyi haulikko, kaksi äänenvaimenninta, pari ilmakivääriä ja kuteja. Aseisiin ei uutisen mukaan ollut lupia.

Nassir sai 7 vuotta ja Atwal 8 vuotta vankeutta. Miehillä on myös aiempia tuomioita väkivaltarikoksista. Jutussa ei ollut varsinaista kuvaa miehistä, joten otin kaappauksen tuosta videon alkukuvasta.

Two men jailed after police found sawn-off shotguns stashed under car seats

Two men have been jailed for a combined total of 15 years after police found sawn-off shotguns stashed under the seats of a car stopped in the city centre.

Firearms officers pulled over the Citroen C3, which was being driven by Yasir Nassir, at 5am on September 10 in Newtown Row.

Eagled-eyed police spotted shotgun cartridges in the rear seat footwell.

Following a search of the car, in which Kuldipsingh Atwal was a passenger, cops uncovered two short-barelled firearms alongside a starter pistol which was hidden under the seats.

West Midlands Police said searches of Nassir's home in Moncrieffe Street, Walsall, uncovered an arsenal of weapons, including another shotgun, a silencer, two air rifles, pellets and blank 6mm cartridges.

Both Nassir, 45, and Atwal, 49, from Stafford Street, Walsall, denied knowledge of the guns but refused to answer any police questions when interviewed.

But Nassir went on to admit possessing firearms, with Atwal found guilty on the same offences.

At Birmingham Crown Court on March 10, they were jailed for seven and eight years respectively.

Tyrel Thompson ja Kareem Dawkins (keenereitä) matkustivat heinäkuussa 2016 Birminghamista Lontooseen junalla. Poliisi sai nimettömän vihjeen ennen keskiyötä, että junassa olevilla nuorukaisilla on ase ja runsaasti huimausaineita mukanaan. Tarkastettuaan useita junia poliisi sai miehet lopulta kiinni ja heidän hallustaan löytyi katkaistu haulikko, patruunoita sekä kilo kannabista. Lontoossa tehdyissä kotietsinnöissä löytyi sitten mm. vaaka ja runsaasti matkapuhelimia, joissa olevien tekstiviestien perusteella heidän voitiin olettaa olevan mukana huimausainekaupassa.

Thompson tuomittiin 5½ vuodeksi vankeuteen. Tapahtumahetkellä alaikäinen Dawkins, joka täytti helmikuussa 18, saa tuomionsa myöhemmin.

Jailed: Man caught travelling to London with sawn-off shotgun and drugs stash worth thousands

A man caught with a sawn-off shotgun and thousands of pounds worth of cannabis on a train heading towards London has been jailed.

Tyrel Thompson, 20, was attempting to smuggle the illegal weapon and £4,000 worth of the drug with a friend while travelling on a train between Birmingham and London.

Police received an anonymous tip-off just before midnight that two people carrying a gun and a large amount of drugs were travelling on a train on July 26 last year.

After checking several trains, officers eventually caught up with Thompson and his friend Kareem Dawkins, who was 17 at the time.

The teen was found to have a sawn-off shotgun, ammunition and a kilogram of cannabis in his bag.

The gun was handed to the National Ballistics Intelligence Service to see if it could be linked to any previous crimes.

During a search of Thompson's rented room in Kingston Road, Raynes Park, officers found six mobile phones, 100 small snap bags and a set of scales.

Dawkins' home in St Saviour's Road, Croydon, was also searched, with officers seizing seven mobile phones containing texts that indicated he was involved in drug dealing.

The pair were later charged with possession of a sawn-off shotgun and possession with intent to supply cannabis, with Dawkins admitting the offences.

Thompson denied any involvement but was found guilty following a trial at Northampton Crown Court.

He was sentenced yesterday to a total of five and a half years behind bars. Dawkins, who turned 18 last month, will be sentenced at a later date.

Tekohetkellä 16-vuotiaista koostunut jihadistikolmikko räjäytti kotitekoisen pommin kesken intialaisen hääseremonian huhtikuussa 2016. Häitä vietettiin paikallisessa sikhitemppelissä Essenissä Saksassa. Asiasta kertoo uutistoimisto Reuters.

Räjähdyksessä loukkaantui vakavasti pappi ja lievemmin kaksi muuta henkilöä.

Saksalaissyntyinen kolmikko oli tavannut toisensa sosiaalisessa mediassa. He olivat radikalisoituneet jo ennen tapaamistaan. He päättivät suorittaa yhdessä iskun vääräuskoisina pitämiään henkilöitä vastaan läntisessä Saksassa.

Yksi kolmikosta sai seitsemän vuoden tuomion ja toinen kuuden vuoden ja yhdeksän kuukauden tuomion murhan yrittämisestä. Kolmas nuorukainen tuomittiin kuudeksi vuodeksi vankeuteen teossa avustamisesta.

2017-03-23 The Local: Police dismantle suspected terror cell in Italy

Italy on Thursday dismantled a terror cell which spread jihadist ideology over social media, the national police force said.

The group of four had shared thousands of posts, photos, and videos in support of extremist ideologies, and expressed praise for terror attacks claimed by Isis.

The suspects, who were based in Milan and Perugia in central Italy, have been charged for incitement to murder and using an electronic network for terrorist purposes.

One of the suspects was a Tunisian citizen legally resident in Italy and who occasionally worked as a pizza chef, however the others were undocumented, homeless, and involved in drug dealing, police said.

Thursday's announcement came as Interior Minister Marco Minniti said Italy would be increasing security measures in crowded areas, following an attack in London which left four dead including the attacker.

Minniti chaired an extraordinary meeting of anti-terror unit CASA on Thursday morning, to evaluate the terror threat in Italy and the security measures in place. The terror threat level in Italy is currently at level 2, the highest possible in the absence of a direct attack.

They arrived in Lisbon on a flight from Casablanca in 2013. SEF border controls flagged their false passports, and the two Moroccans - neither ostensibly travelling together - gave similar stories of how this was the "only way" to flee a country where they were being persecuted.

Breaking news stories last night explain how the two men were given refugee status, housed in an asylum centre in Bobadela, Loures (on the outskirts of Lisbon) but were really "two Daesh terrorists" who then set about spreading their extremist ideology "trying to recruit new members" in this country.

It is common practice for refugees given asylum in Portugal to 'drop off the radar'. Indeed government minister Eduardo Cabrita told journalists last month that: "Portugal does not have any strategy that puts any kind of limitation on liberty of circulation" once refugees are taken in.

As a result, hundreds have just gone walkabout. But in this case, the PJ has been tracking the men with the help of European police.

One of the Moroccans - Hicham el-Hanafi, 26 - was arrested in France last November, suspected of planning a terrorist attack there and the other has just been extradited from Germany to Portugal for interrogation. Abdessalam Tazi, 63 is described by national tabloid Correio da Manhã as a "former policeman in his country".

A statement from the Attorney General's office explains the PJ sought Tazi for "adhesion and support of an international terrorist organisation (Daesh - ISIS) and the recruitment and financing of terrorism".

Like el-Hanafi, Tazi received monthly cash benefits from the Portuguese once he was awarded refugee status.

He was arrested as part of a prevention campaign following the recent London attempt. After verification of his identity, the police realized that he was the target of a European arrest warrant issued by Portugal. He was then handed over to the Portuguese authorities, who suspected him, since 2015, of belonging to the terrorist group of the Islamic State.

Tazi and El Hanafi, had succeeded in recruiting many young Europeans and financed their journey to the conflict zones in Iraq and Syria to prepare them for Europe.

Langleyn pikkukaupungissa Iso-Britanniassa kahta miestä solvattiin ja puukotettiin heidän uskontonsa vuoksi viime viikon perjantaina (17.3.).

Pesäpallomailalla ja puukolla varustautunut joukkio hyökkäsi miesten kimppuun bussipysäkillä. Toinen heistä sai puukoniskuja jalkaansa ja selkäänsä, toinen vatsaansa. Hyökkääjistä kahta kuvaillaan mustiksi ja yhtä valkoiseksi ja lisäksi paikalla oli muitakin, joista ei ole tarkempia tuntomerkkejä. Poliisi on pidättänyt kaksi 17-vuotiasta ja yhden 15-vuotiaan.

Poliisi on kehottanut lähistöllä sijaitsevaa moskeijaa olemaan antamasta lausuntoja ennen kuin tapauksen tutkinta on saatettu loppuun.

Jostain kumman syystä luulen, että väkivallan kohteeksi joutuneet eivät olleet muslimeja...

Men attacked at Langley bus stop 'over their religion' say Thames Valley Police

A RESIDENTIAL area has been rocked this week after two men were verbally abused because of their religion before being attacked and stabbed.

The incident happened at about 10.35pm last Friday, March 17 at a bus stop in Common Road, Langley, at the end of the cul-de-sac, Mendip Close.

A group of males wielding a baseball bat and knife targeted the men, aged in their 40s and late 20s, with religiously-offensive slurs before viciously attacking them.

One of the victims was stabbed in the leg and back and the other was stabbed in the stomach.

Both men required medical treatment and were taken to hospital where they remain.

The offenders are described as a black male in his teens, about 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and wearing a baseball cap; a black male in his late teens or early 20s, of average build and shorter than 5ft 10ins tall; a white male, of average build and wearing a dark grey tracksuit; and a male wearing a jacket who possibly had a dog with him.

Thames Valley Police believe more males wearing hooded tops were involved in the incident but they currently have no further description of them.

Investigating officer Detective Constable James Rocks, from Maidenhead CID, said: "We would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or who may be able to assist with enquiries to please come forward so that the offenders can be brought to justice for their actions."

One resident, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "I saw an ambulance and a man wrapped in a quilt.

"I have lived here for one and a half years and never seen anything like this.

"It was quite terrifying. I have two toddlers and I am keeping them inside always."

The Faizan-e-Madina mosque, in Cheviot Road, at the other end of Mendip Close, said police had told them not to make a statement until the investigation was over.

Three boys, two aged 17 and one 15, all from Slough, have been arrested on suspicion of religiously aggravated grievous bodily harm. They have been bailed until May 13.

Nykyään 19-vuotias Jordan Johnson-Ogunkoya hyökkäsi veitsen kanssa kahden teinipojan kimppuun vuoden 2014 Halloweenina Bromleyssa. 16-vuotias sai vammoja jalkaansa ja 17-vuotias hyvin vakavia vammoja vatsaansa.

Johnson-Ogunkoya pidätettiin mittavan poliisitutkinnan jälkeen vasta vuoden 2016 kesäkuussa. Saatuaan syytteet hän yritti karata Jamaikalle (en ymmärrä miksei ollut koko aikaa vangittuna?), mutta hänet saatiin kiinni Gatwickin lentokentällä joulukuussa 2016.

Johnson-Ogunkoya sai perjantaina 8 vuoden vankeusrangaistuksen.

Jailed: Jordan Johnson-Ogunkoya sentenced to eight years for 'despicable and unprovoked' stabbing

A teenager has been jailed for eight years after stabbing a 17-year-old with a 13-inch knife in a "despicable" attack.

Jordan Johnson-Ogunkoya, 19, was with a group of people who attacked two teenage boys on Halloween 2014 in a case of mistaken identity.

He stabbed two of them – leaving one with a severed bowel in two places and serious damage to his renal artery.

Johnson-Ogunkoya of Turnham Road, Brockley, was jailed for eight years at the Old Bailey on Friday having previously pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent.

The Judge  described the knife that was used as "a shocking weapon" and stated that Johnson-Ogunkoya posed "a high risk of harm".

Judge Bate added: "We see this all too often, young man carrying knives routinely, with grievous or fatal consequences and young lives are left utterly ruined."

Police rushed to Queens Mead Recreation Ground in Bromley just before midnight on October 31 following reports of a large group of youths attacking two teens.

Officers found a 17-year-old boy suffering from serious injuries to the abdomen and a 16-year-old with stab wounds to his leg.

Both were rushed to a south London hospital and the 16-year-old victim was discharged a few hours later.

The 17-year-old victim remained in hospital until December after suffering a large stab wound to the abdomen. He lost lots of blood and was left with "life changing injuries".

Detective inspector Charles Clare said: "This was a despicable, cowardly and wholly unprovoked attack which has had a significant impact on the life of both the young victim and his family. He very nearly died.

"There was nothing at all to connect the victims to Johnson-Ogunkoya, they were simply the victims of mistaken identity.

"The investigation was exceedingly challenging and I am delighted we have secured this conviction. I would like to thank the bravery of the victim and his family and hope this result allows them to move forward."

Johnson-Okunkoya was arrested on June 2016 – two years after the stabbing – after a huge police investigation.

After being charged he fled the country to Jamaica but was arrested again at Gatwick Airport on December 29.

Jailed: Teenage gangster who stabbed ex-Arsenal trainee Champion Ganda to death outside primary school

A self-confessed teenage gangster who stabbed a talented rapper to death in a brutal fight outside a primary school has been jailed for 14 years.

Amani Lynch, then 17, knifed Champion Ganda 11 times in the shocking broad-daylight attack, piercing his lung and inflicting wounds so deep the knife chipped the bone.

Champion, also 17, a talented rapper under the name Chrome and a former Arsenal youth trainee, collapsed a short distance from the attack, which happened just outside Sandringham Primary School in Forest Gate.

At the Old Bailey on Friday afternoon, Judge Wendy Joseph QC sentenced Lynch to 14 years in youth detention, saying he had "committed himself to a life of serious organised crime" despite his young age.

"I'm quite satisfied either Mr Lynch brought the knife to the scene or he was at least well-aware the knife was in the cab and you were complicit in it being there", she said.

She it was "pure good fortune" that the primary school pupils did not witness the attack during their lunch break.

"If that had happened, the effects are hardly bear thinking about," she said.

"Three members of staff who did see it were still visibly horrified and distressed as they gave evidence three years later."

The judge said Lynch had "shown an utter lack of understanding of what he had done", and criticised his behaviour during the trial, when he was seen grinning in the dock and joking around just yards away from Champion's grieving relatives.

"I don't accept his behaviour was a sign of immaturity, it was a sign of his determination to intimidate a co-defendant who had decided to tell the court Mr Lynch was the stabber, and Mr Lynch had equally resolved not to say it."

The court heard Lynch summoned friends to the court public gallery during the trial in a failed bid to intimidate co-accused Devante Clifford, who was preparing to point the finger at him for the fatal stabbing.

The jury cleared Lynch of murder but found him guilty of manslaughter, while Clifford and a third man, Marvin Simos, were both acquitted of both charges.

The three men had been in a cab together on May 9, 2013 when they came across Champion, a performing arts student at Stratford College, and his friend, Shaquille Davis, who were on their way to deal cannabis.

Lynch and his friends chased the two teenagers, and then a fight broke out in which Lynch was seen brandishing a knife.

He stabbed Shaquille twice and knifed Champion 11 times before fleeing with the bloodied knife hidden up his sleeve, quickly ditching the weapon and his blood-stained clothes.

Lynch was later heard boasting about the stabbing in a branch of KFC, the court heard.
