Yhdeksää Irakista Eurooppaan turvapaikanhakijana muuttanutta miestä syytetään 28-vuotiaan naisen joukkoraiskauksesta Itävallan Wienissä. Rikos tapahtui uutenavuotena 2015-2016, ja oikeutta puidaan nyt.

Oikeudenkäynti jatkuu tänään, tässä uutisessa ei paljon uutta tietoa jo yllä olevan lisäksi, mutta uhri on opettaja.

A court in Austria has heard that nine Iraqi immigrants gang raped a teacher during New Year's Eve celebrations in Vienna.

The woman, 28, said she was drinking in a bar with a female friend but was apparently "taken away" by four men and led to an apartment where five more men were waiting to begin the "humiliating and agonizing" attack, which lasted for two hours.

The defendants in the case are aged 22 to 45 and are all related to each other. At the time of the alleged attack, which is said to have taken place on January 1, 2016, five of the men had refugee status while the asylum applications of the other four were pending.

Terroristiepäilty pidätettiin Saksassa - halusi tappaa poliiseja ja sotilaita

26-vuotiasta Saksan kansalaista syytetään terroriteon valmistelusta.

Saksan poliisi on pidättänyt Ala-Saksin osavaltion Northeimissa 26-vuotiaan miehen, jota syytetään terroristisen teon valmistelemisesta valtiota vastaan. Epäillyn uskotaan kuuluvan salafistiseen ryhmään.

Miehen uskotaan valmistelleen pommi-iskua. Hänen asunnostaan löytyi kemikaaleja, joita voidaan käyttää pommin rakentamiseen. Asunnosta löytyi myös todisteita kotitekoisen räjähteen rakentamisesta.

Mies otettiin kiinni keskiviikkona. Hän on alustavissa kuulusteluissa myöntänyt suunnitelleensa iskua poliiseja tai sotilaita vastaan. Hänen oli määrä houkutella viranomaiset paikkaan, jossa hän olisi räjäyttänyt pomminsa.

Valkoisten kansanmurha Etelä-Afrikassa jatkuu.

Kolmen miehen porukka murtautui Sue Howarthin ja Robert Lynnin maatilalle ryöstöaikeissa sunnuntaiyönä Dullstroomin pikkukaupungin lähellä 150 mailin päässä Pretoriasta. Kun pariskunta kertoi ettei heillä ole kassakaappia, miehet sitoivat heidät ja alkoivat kiduttaa heitä hakkaamalla, puukottamalla ja toholla polttamalla sekä myös ampuivat näitä.

Lopulta Howarth ja Lynn vietiin autolla syrjemmälle. Miehet johdattivat Lynnin pellolle ja käskivät tämän polvistua, mutta jättivät tämän sinne. Lynn onnistui ryömimään takaisin tielle ja löysi vaimonsa ojasta vakavasti loukkaantuneena ja sidottuna. Heidän ystävänsä ajoivat aamunkoitteessa sattumalta paikalle ja veivät nämä sairaalaan. Howarth kuoli tiistaina vammoihinsa.

British woman dies after being tortured with blowtorches and shot by gang in South Africa

Sue Howarth and Robert Lynn were attacked on their farm in the middle of the night on Sunday by a masked gang who burned their bodies with a blowtorch, beat them around the head, knifed and shot them after tying them up.

The couple were eventually abandoned miles from their home and found by two friends the next morning who took them to hospital where Ms Howarth, who will be remembered as having "a heart of gold", died on Tuesday.

Three men broke into their remote home, 150miles from Pretoria near the small town of Dullstroom in Mpumalanga province, at 2am through a window in an attempt to rob them, but when the couple said they did not have a safe the burglars refused to believe them and started torturing them.

Ms Howarth, 64, who moved to South Africa from Southsea in Hampshire in 1996, had a plastic bag shoved down her throat and Mr Lynn, 66, had a bag tied around his neck before the attackers started burning them with a blow torch on their chests and legs.

Mr Lynn managed to bite little holes in the bag so he could breathe, although both the couple's hands were tied.

The electrical engineer was hit over the head with a gun and told to shut up by the gang leader after he told them they had been given incorrect information because they did not have more money than the few hundred rand he had given them, or a gun safe.

The married couple were then bundled into the back of their own Nissan pick-up truck where Mr Lynn thought they were going to be driven to nearby Dullstroom to withdraw money.

However, the attackers turned in the opposite direction towards another small town called Belfast before eventually stopping and pulling him out of the vehicle by his hair and walking him over a field where he had to crawl through a barbed wire fence and get on to his knees.

Mr Lynn told the Middleburg Observer: "They were looking for things we just don't have.

"I said to them that whoever gave them their their information, gave them the wrong information. One of them replied with 'No they didn't'."

After being ordered onto his knees, he said: "That was the last thing I remember. I thought I was dead after that until I looked up and saw the stars."

He told how he eventually managed to free his hands and crawled back to the road where something made him turn right instead of left down the hill.

As he was crawling he believed he heard a cow mooing but realised it was his wife moaning in agony as she lay ditch with her hands tied behind her back, bleeding severely from her head.

In a miraculous show of strength he managed to stand up next to the road where seven vehicles drove past sounding their horns, but did not stop.

Just as dawn broke, two of his friends drove past and rescued the couple.

Talking about Ms Howarth's death, Mr Lynn, said: "I have to come to terms with losing my best friend.

"Susan was a great girl. She had a great life – just to end up in a ditch with her hands tied behind her back.

"I am amazed how good people have been to me. But I will never be able to forget what evil people are capable of."

Only child Ms Howarth's ashes will be flown to Southsea to be buried next to her parents.

Vincent Taylor, a friend of the couple's and the owner of a security company, is offering a 20,000 rand (£1,240) reward for any information leading to a successful arrest.

Before moving to Dullstroom and starting the Dullstroom Stables, Ms Howarth was the head of a pharmaceutical company in Johannesburg.

Since the beginning of February, 30 farms across South Africa have been attacked and 15 people have died.

The South African press has been heavily criticised for not covering the couple's brutal attack.

The French Bureau of National Vigilance Against Antisemitism (BNVCA) yesterday published a shocking announcement. On 21 February in the French town of Bondy, just outside the Boulevard Périphérique, two Jewish brothers, 29 and 17 years of age, were driving their car on the Avenue Gallieni around 21:00. According to their father, an important man in the Jewish community of Bondy, his sons had their heads covered with a kippah.

Then they were cut off by a van, forcing them off their route. The van drives up to their height, and the two occupants shout:

The men force them to a halt near a shisha bar, from which others pour to lend a helping hand, violently attacking the brothers, beating, kicking them and shouting "if you move, I will kill you."

In an interview with Armand Azoulay, the father of the 29 and 17-year-old victims, he said that his son was "grabbed by the throat" and attacked with a wood saw. The perpetrator has not succeeded in sawing off his son's finger. "The finger has not been severed," Azoulay said, in response to earlier reports. He stressed that "this was an anti-Semitic attack in all its forms."

Shocked and wounded, the brothers went to a hospital and filed a complaint. The French Bureau of National Vigilance Against Antisemitism (BNVCA) has asked the police to do everything possible to identify the original aggressors, a father and son described as of North African origin. It has also decided to put its counsels Sabine Tourjman and Maître Charles Baccouche at the disposal of the two Jewish victims to defend their interests and to assist them legally.

Pariisissa Bondyn lähiössä kaksi juutalaista miestä joutui sanallisen ja fyysisen hyökkäyksen kohteeksi tämän viikon tiistaina.

Juutalaiset 17- ja 29-vuotiaat veljekset ajoivat lähiön läpi kipat päässään ja huomasivat perässä tulevassa pakettiautossa olevien miesten tuijottavan heitä. Toinen veljeksistä avasi ikkunan ja kysyi mitä pakettiauton kuljettaja tekee, kun paku häiritsi heidän ajamistaan. Mies vastasi tekevänsä tien päällä mitä haluaa, haukkui näitä likaisiksi juutalaisiksi ja paskiaisiksi sekä sanoi näiden kaikkien kuolevan.

Veljekset joutuivat pysäyttämään paikallisen shishabaarin eteen, jolloin pakun kuljettaja hyppäsi autostaan ja kaivoi kaarisahan esille. Veljekset yrittivät paeta, mutta heitä jahdattiin ja hakattiin. Hyökkääjä onnistui saamaan vanhemman veljeksistä maahan ja painoi sahan tämän kurkulle. Nuorempi veljeksistä löi hyökkääjää ja onnistui ilmeisesti estämään sen enemmät sahailut.

Ranskan antisemitismin vastainen toimielin BNVCA tuomitsi hyökkäyksen, on tarjonnut lakiapua uhreille ja pyytää poliiseja tekemään kaikkensa, jotta hyökkääjät tunnistettaisiin. Hyökkääjiä kuvaillaan pohjoisafrikkalaistaustaisiksi (ullatus!) isäksi ja pojaksi.

Shishabaarin omistaja kertoi medialle nähneensä tapauksen ja menneensä väliin, mutta ei havainnut mitään uskonnollisia tunnusmerkkejä kellään... niinpä niin.

Jewish men attacked with hacksaw by men 'shouting anti-Semitic abuse' in Paris

Men say they were called 'dirty Jews' by assailants who swerved in front of their car

Two Jewish men have been attacked with a hacksaw in Paris after allegedly being called "dirty Jews" in a volley of anti-Semitic abuse.

The brothers, aged 17 and 29, said they were wearing kippahs as they drove through the suburb of Bondy and noticed the alleged attackers staring at them from a following van.

The elder brother told police he lowered his window to ask what the driver was doing after he started swerving in front of their car, LCI Radio reported.

"I do what I want to on the road," he allegedly replied. "You dirty Jews! Bastards! You're all going to die!"

The brothers said they feared a crash and were forced to stop outside a shisha bar, where the van driver pulled a weapon described as a hacksaw out from the back of the vehicle.

They said they attempted to flee but were chased and beaten. The elder brother was reportedly punched to the ground before his attacker moved the saw to his throat.

The teenager said he struck the assailant before struggling for the saw, leaving him with wounds that needing hospital treatment.

France's National Bureau for Vigilance Against Anti-Semitism (BNVCA) denounced the attack on Tuesday evening and has offered legal representation to the victims.

"The BNVCA asks the police to do everything possible to identify the anti-Jewish aggressors, a father and son described as of North African origin," a spokesperson said.

The manager of the bar where the incident took place told French media he saw an attacker with a saw and "intervened before something more serious happened" but did notice any religious symbols.

"I saw neither Jew nor Muslim nor Christian nor atheist at the scene," he added.

No arrests have been made in relation to the attack. It came amid fears over anti-Semitic violence in France, where a gunman loyal to Isis killed four people at a kosher supermarket in January 2015.

Extremist gunman Mohammed Merah also targeted a Jewish school in a shooting spree that left seven people dead in 2012, while the Brussels Jewish Museum was attacked by an Isis supporter in neighbouring Brussels in 2014.

France, which has the third-largest Jewish population in the world, has seen a decrease in reported anti-Semitic attacks over the past two years according to interior ministry figures.

Bondy lies near the suburb of Aulnay-sous-Bois, which has been hit by waves of protests and rioting following a police officer's alleged rape of a black man.

Mayor blasted over calls for 'sordid' Roma camps to be destroyed after violent mob attacks

FRENCH officials have called for the closure of two Roma camps near Lille after several runners and cyclists were mugged or sexually assaulted by residents of the makeshift settlements.

A spokesperson for the Lille mayor's office said on Saturday the demand had been made - but the calls have led to pro-Roma groups to respond furiously.

A spokesperson for the mayor said: "Several locals have been attacked by young Roma gypsies while out running or cycling along the Deûle river, which is located a stone's throw from both the Poterne and Constantine Roma camps.

"We are therefore asking prefecture officials to demolish both settlements as soon as possible."

On February 12, Lucie, 22, claims she was mugged and sexually assaulted by "six or seven" teenagers while out jogging near her home.

She told the French daily France Info: "They hit me and tried to rape me. They pinned me to ground and starting kissing me and then one of them tried to pull down my leggings."

Two days later, on February 14, a 17-year-old teenager was mugged by two stick-wielding children while out cycling along the the Deûle river with a friend.

The unnamed teenager told police: "One of them was about seven, the other couldn't have been older than 12. They tried to grab our phones and threatened to beat us with a stick. The youngest sunk his teeth into my hand. Luckily, a passer-by came to our rescue and they ran away."

Last Wednesday, a man in his fifties was mugged and brutally assaulted by two teenagers while out cycling near the camps.

An anonymous police source told the French daily Le Figaro that most of the attackers had since been formally identified as "residents of the Poterne and Constantine Roma camps" and that most of them were "under 18 years of age".

The mayor of Lille, Martine Aubry, added that the two Roma settlements were "squalid and unsafe" and posed a "security threat".

A local pro-Roma organisation, however, has condemned calls to close the camps, and claims that doing so will "not help solve the underlying problem".

Tiedä häntä sitten tuosta jälkimmäisestä tuomiosta (toiseen suuntaan). Pohjautui pitkälti kanssasyytettyjen kertomuksiin. Heitä uhkasi pitkät tuomiot, mutta he pääsivät todistuksiaan vastaan ehdonalaisilla. Brysselissä poliisi pysäytti tänään auton, joka oli ajanut useissa risteyksissä päin punaisia (taas auto syyllistyi rikokseen ). Auton tutkinnan yhteydessä sitten havaittiin, että se oli täynnä kaasupulloja. Paikalle kutsuttiin kaivosyhtiön räjähdeasiantuntijoita ja myöhemmin kuultiin voimakas räjähdys, joka viittaisi siihen, että mahdollinen pommiviritelmä tuhottiin.

Ranskan tapauksessa terrorisminvastaiset poliisijoukot ovat pidättäneet tiistaina kolme miestä Pariisissa ja lisäksi tuoneet tutkintaan mukaan yhden miehen, joka on jo tällä hetkellä vankilassa terrorisyytösten vuoksi. Kaikki miehet ovat toisilleen sukua. Pidätykset tehtiin erään tammikuisen ratsian yhteydessä löytyneen DNA:n perusteella. Tuolloin viranomaiset paljastivat suuren pommimateriaalikätkön Seine-Saint-Denisin lähiössä sijaitsevasta asunnosta Pariisista. Asunnon oletetaan olleen yhden pidätetyn miehen käytössä.

Explosives experts scrambled as Brussels police stop car filled with canisters

A STREET in Brussels has been sealed off after Belgian police stopped a car filled with gas canisters.

Soldiers are now at the scene at the road in Porte de Hal has been sealed off.

Explosives experts from a mine company were called as officials instruct witnesses to keep their distance.

A loud bang was reported by witnesses soon after, indicating the devices had been destroyed by the explosives crew.

Police have not revealed details of any arrests.

Officers had stopped a car which ran several red lights, the spokeswoman for the local police said.

When they checked the car they saw the gas bottles and called the bomb squad.

According to a local television channel, the entire area has been put into lockdown.

They said: "The whole area in front of the castle of the Porte de Hal is closed.

"Traffic is also at a standstill and public transport has been stopped."

The city transport authority said a metro station close to the main Gare du Midi railway station had been closed.

Brussels remains on a high terror alert following a deadly attack in the city exactly 12 months ago.

A coordinated attack on Brussels airport and a metro station left 35 people dead and 340 injured.

French counter-terror police arrest four members of same family on bomb-making charges

FRENCH counter-terrorism officials have arrested four members of the same family on bomb-making charges.

All four men are known to police and are suspected of having close links to radical Islam, a judicial source told the AFP news agency on Wednesday.

Three of the men, who are aged between 20 and 42 and whose identities have not yet been revealed, were arrested at their Paris home in the early hours of Tuesday morning and immediately taken into police custody.

The fourth suspect, who is currently in jail on terrorism charges, has been removed from his cell for questioning.

The judicial source said: "All four relatives have also been accused of having links with terrorism."

Police made the arrests after the DNA of one of the suspects was found on bomb-making material seized during a separate house raid in the Paris suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis, which took place earlier this year.

In January, police discovered a large stash of bomb-making material, including bottles of acetone and sulphuric acid – which can be used to make explosives –, in a flat believed to be used by one of the suspects.

Police also found a rag, a plate, aluminium foil and a thermometer during the raid.

All four men had been placed under surveillance by DGSI counter-terrorism officials months before their arrest, and were known to police for their close links to radical Islamist circles.

Khurran Rehman (kuvan ja nimen perusteella paki tai joku muu vastaava ukkeli) raiskasi 16-vuotiaan tytön väkivaltaisesti Itä-Lontoossa Stratfordissa viime heinäkuussa.

Raiskarikusipää Rehman nappasi tytön ranteista kiinni keskellä päivää ja uhkasi puukottaa tytön, mikäli tämä ei tulisi hänen autoonsa. Uhri yritti paeta, mutta Rehman pakotti hänet autoon. Hän ajoi syrjemmälle ja raiskasi tytön ilmeisesti useampaan kertaan uhkaillen tätä samalla. Lopulta hän vaati tytön puhelinnumeron ja käski tätä pysymään hiljaa tapauksesta.

Khurran Rehman tuomittiin perjantaina kolmesta raiskauksesta ja kidnappauksesta 21 vuodeksi vankilaan. Häntä kuvailtiin vaaralliseksi mieheksi, joka aiheuttaa merkittävän riskin naisille (pätee muuten aika moneen matuun).

On tuolla näköjään rangaistukset ihan kohdillaan. Suomessa olisi saanut todennäköisesti muutaman vuoden istumista.

Jailed: Dangerous rapist who snatched girl, 16, from street in broad daylight in terrifying attack

A dangerous man who snatched a teenage girl from the streets of east London and violently raped her in the back of his car has been jailed for 21 years.

Khurran Rehman, 29, grabbed his 16-year-old victim by the wrists and threatened to stab her if she did not get in his car in broad daylight in East Road, Stratford, in July last year.

The teenager tried to escape but Rehman threatened her again and forced her into the vehicle.

He drove off and parked in nearby Elmgreen Close where he subjected the young girl to a prolonged and serious sex assault, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.

His victim begged him to stop but Rehman continually threatened to stab her.

The attacker then demanded the girl's phone number and ordered her to keep quiet about the attack before throwing her out of the car, the court was told.

As he drove off, Rehman hurled £10 at his terrified victim.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, contacted police immediately and was harassed by Rehman over the phone as she spoke with detectives.

He was found guilty of three counts of rape and kidnap on December 13 last year following a six-day trial.

Rehman was jailed for 21 years at the same court on Friday.

DC Spencer Thomas said: "Khurram Rehman is a very dangerous man who kidnapped and raped a girl he pulled off the street.

"He poses a significant risk to women and I am pleased that today he has received this custodial sentence. The police have a responsibility to protect the public from this kind of individual.

"I would like to pay tribute to the victim who had the courage to quickly report this distressing assault to police, and attend court to give evidence against Rehman.

"I hope that today's sentence gives the victim and her family a measure of comfort and closure."
