A Labour minister says his party has been infiltrated by a fundamentalist Muslim group that wants to create an "Islamic social and political order" in Britain.

The Islamic Forum of Europe (IFE) — which believes in jihad and sharia law, and wants to turn Britain and Europe into an Islamic state — has placed sympathisers in elected office and claims, correctly, to be able to achieve "mass mobilisation" of voters.

Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph, Jim Fitzpatrick, the Environment Minister, said the IFE had become, in effect, a secret party within Labour and other political parties.

"They are acting almost as an entryist organisation, placing people within the political parties, recruiting members to those political parties, trying to get individuals selected and elected so they can exercise political influence and power, whether it's at local government level or national level," he said.

"They are completely at odds with Labour's programme, with our support for secularism."

Mr Fitzpatrick, the MP for Poplar and Canning Town, said the IFE had infiltrated and "corrupted" his party in east London in the same way that the far-Left Militant Tendency did in the 1980s. Leaked Labour lists show a 110 per cent rise in party membership in one constituency in two years.

In a six-month investigation by this newspaper and Channel 4's Dispatches, involving weeks of covert filming by the programme's reporters:

   * IFE activists boasted to the undercover reporters that they had already "consolidated ... a lot of influence and power" over Tower Hamlets, a London borough council with a £1 billion budget.
   * We have established that the group and its allies were awarded more than £10 million of taxpayers' money, much of it from government funds designed to "prevent violent extremism".
   * IFE leaders were recorded expressing opposition to democracy, support for sharia law or mocking black people. The IFE organised meetings with extremists, including Taliban allies, a man named by the US government as an "unindicted co-conspirator" in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and a man under investigation by the FBI for his links to the September 11 attacks.
   * Moderate Muslims in London told how the IFE and its allies were enforcing their hardline views on the rest of the local community, curbing behaviour they deemed "un-Islamic". The owner of a dating agency received a threatening email from an IFE activist, warning her to close it.
   * George Galloway, a London MP, admitted in recordings obtained by this newspaper that his surprise victory in the 2005 election owed more to the IFE "than it would be wise – for them – for me to say, adding that they played a "decisive role" in his triumph at the polls.

Mr Galloway now says they were one of many groups which supported his anti-war stance and had never sought to influence him.

The IFE has particularly close links to Tower Hamlets council. Seven serving and former councillors said Lutfur Rahman, the current council leader, gained his post with the group's help.

Some said they were canvassed by a senior IFE official on his behalf. After Mr Rahman was elected, a man with close links to the group, Lutfur Ali, was appointed assistant chief executive of the council with responsibility for grant funding.

This was despite a chequered employment record, a misleading CV and a negative report from the headhunters appointed to consider the candidates. The council's white chief executive was subsequently forced from his post.

Since Mr Rahman became leader, more council grants have been paid to a number of organisations which our investigation established are closely linked to the IFE.

Funding for other, secular groups was ended or cut. In the borough's well-known Brick Lane area, council funds were switched from a largely secular heritage trail to a highly controversial "hijab sculpture", angering many residents who accused the council of "religious triumphalism".

Schools in Tower Hamlets are told by the council should close for the Muslim festival of Eid, even where most of their pupils are not Muslim.

Mr Rahman refused to deny that an IFE activist had canvassed councillors on his behalf. He said: "There are various people across Tower Hamlets who get excited, who get involved."

He would not comment on concerns about infiltration, saying they were "party matters". He said: "If you look at our flagship policies, like investing £20 million to tackle overcrowding, you can see that we are working for everyone."

The IFE said it did not seek to influence the council and had not lobbied for Mr Rahman. "If anything, existing members of the Labour Party have joined the IFE, rather than the other way round," it said.

The group insisted it was not a fundamentalist or extremist organisation and did not support violence.

Ison Britannian ympäristöministerin Jim Fitzpatrickin mukaan fundamentalistiryhmä Euroopan Islamilainen Foorumi (IFE) on soluttanut jäseniään Britannian työväenpuolueeseen.

IFE:stä on ministerin mukaan käytännössä tullut puolueen sisällä vaikuttava oma itsenäinen puolue. Asiasta kertoi The Daily Telegraph.

Euroopan Islamilaisen Foorumin tavoitteena on muuttaa Britannia ja koko Eurooppa islamilaiseksi valtioksi, jossa sovellettaisiin shariaa, islamilaista lakia. IFE uskoo myös jihadiin, islamilaisten pyhään taisteluun vääräuskoisia vastaan.

Työväenpuoluetta itsekin edustavan ympäristöministerin mukaan IFE on onnistunut nimittämään omia jäseniään puolueen virkoihin, harrastaa aktiivista, valikoitua rekrytointia ja yrittää saada omia jäseniään valituksi valtuustoihin sekä parlamenttiin.

Fitzpatrick kertoi, että islamistit ovat soluttautuneet erityisesti työväenpuolueen osastoihin Itä-Lontoossa.

Fitzpatrickin mielestä IFE:n ajatusmaailma on täydellisessä ristiriidassa sekularismia, uskonnon ja politiikan erottamista, kannattavan työväenpuolueen puolueohjelman kanssa.

The Daily Telegraphin ja Channel 4:n tutkimuksissa on selvinnyt, että IFE:n aktivistit ovat saaneet 10 miljoonaa puntaa veronmaksajien rahoja väkivaltaisen ekstremismin ennaltaehkäisyyn.

Tutkimusten mukaan IFE:n johtajat ovat ilmaisseet vastustavansa demokratiaa ja tukevansa sharialakia. IFE on myös järjestänyt tapaamisia Afganistanin Talibanien liittolaisten kanssa.

Maltillisemmat muslimit ovat kertoneet, että IFE liittolaisineen yrittää pakottaa maltillisia kovan linjan taakse.

Militantit soluttautuivat ensimmäisen kerran 80-luvulla, kun Trotskylainen militantti järjestö lopetti toimintansa.

Ministeri nimesi soluttautujaksi Islamic Forum of Europe -järjestön (IFE), ko. järjestö on lähtöisin Itä-Lontoon moskeijasta. Ihmisiä joita ei aikaisemmin ole tunnettu ja jotka ovat myös kadonneet maan nielemänä ovat mm. kirjautunut työväenpuolueen jäseniksi ja osallistunut ehdokasvalinta tilaisuusksiin.

Olettuksen mukaan IFE:llä on nykyään valtaa mm. Tower Hamlets kaupunginosan hallituksessa ja sen 1,1 miljardin punnan budjetti rahoissa.

Lisäys. Kävinpä lukemassa muutkin artikkelit aiheesta. On oikein maltillinen järjestö tämä IFE. Eivät jäänet ainakaan järjestön tavoitteet epäselväksi.

Käsittääkseni muslimiyhteisö muodostaisi tällä hetkellä alueen väestöstä kolmanneksen. Ei tarvitse odottaa enää montaa vuotta, että päästään näkemään, mihin suuntaan alueen kehitys lähtee kulkemaan. Ehkä Telegraphin artikkelit ovat vain halpahintaista populismia ja IFE:n tavoitteet paljastuvat pelkäksi kuplaksi.

Stop alienating Britain's Muslims

    Attempt to drive Islamists and young Asian activists out of the political mainstream is a dangerous folly

    If young British Muslims had any doubts that they are singled out for special treatment in the land of their birth, the punishments being meted out to those who took part in last year's London demonstrations against Israel's war on Gaza will have dispelled them.

    The protests near the Israeli embassy at the height of the onslaught were angry: bottles and stones were thrown, a Starbucks was trashed and the police employed unusually violent tactics, even by the standards of other recent confrontations, such as the G20 protests.

    But a year later, it turns out that it's the sentences that are truly exceptional. Of 119 people arrested, 78 have been charged, all but two of them young Muslims (most between the ages of 16 and 19), according to Manchester University's Joanna Gilmore, even though such figures in no way reflect the mix of those who took part.

    In the past few weeks, 15 have been convicted, mostly of violent disorder, and jailed for between eight months and two-and-a-half years, having switched to guilty pleas to avoid heavier terms.

    The severity of the charges and sentencing goes far beyond the official response to any other recent anti-war demonstration. So do the arrests, many of them carried out months after the event in dawn raids by dozens of police officers, who smashed down doors and handcuffed family members as if they were suspected terrorists.

    Naturally, none of the more than 30 complaints about police violence were upheld, even where video evidence was available.

    Nothing quite like this has happened, in fact, since 2001, when young Asian Muslims rioted in Bradford and other northern English towns and were subjected to heavily disproportionate prison terms.
    In the Gaza protest cases, the judge has explicitly relied on the Bradford precedent and repeatedly stated that the sentences he is handing down are intended as a deterrent.

    Strong-arm tactics

    For many in the Muslim community, the point will be clear: not only that these are political sentences, but that different rules apply to Muslims, who take part in democratic protest at their peril.

    It's a dangerous message, especially given the threat from a tiny minority that is drawn towards indiscriminate violence in response to Britain's wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and rejects any truck with mainstream politics.

    But it's one that is constantly reinforced by politicians and parts of the media, who have increasingly blurred the distinction between violent and non- violent groups, demonised Islamism as an alien threat and branded as extremist any Muslim leader who dares to campaign against western foreign policy in the Muslim world.

    That's reflected in the government's targeting of 'non-violent extremism' and lavish funding of anti-Islamist groups, as well as in Tory plans to ban the non-violent Hizb ut-Tahrir and crack down ever harder on "extremist written material and speech".

    In the media, it takes the form of relentless attempts to expose Muslims involved in wider politics as secret fanatics and sympathisers with terrorism.

    As recent research co-authored by the former head of the Metropolitan police special branch's Muslim contact unit, Bob Lambert, has shown, such ubiquitous portrayals of Muslim activists as 'terrorists, sympathisers and subversives' are one factor in the alarming growth of British Islamophobia and the rising tide of anti-Muslim violence and hate crimes that stem from it.

    Last month's British Social Attitudes survey found that most people now regard Britain as "deeply divided along religious lines", with hostility to Muslims and Islam far outstripping such attitudes to any other religious group.

    On the ground that has translated into murders, assaults and attacks on mosques and Muslim institutions with shamefully little response in politics or the media.

    Last year, five mosques in Britain were firebombed, though barely reported in the national press, let alone visited by a government minister. And now there is a street movement, the English Defence League to intimidate and threaten Muslim communities across the country.

    Of course, anti-Muslim bigotry the last socially acceptable racismis often explained away by the London bombings of 2005 and the continuing threat of terror attacks, even though by far the greatest number of what the authorities call "terrorist incidents" in the UK take place in Northern Ireland.

    Europol figures show that more than 99 per cent of terrorist attacks in Europe over the past three years were carried out by non-Muslims. And in the last nine months, two of the most serious bomb plot convictions were of far right racists, Neil Lewington and Terence Gavan, who were planning to kill Muslims.

    Meanwhile, in the run-up to the general election, expect some ugly dog whistles from Westminster politicians. With few winnable Muslim votes, the Tories seem especially up for it.

    As long as British governments back wars and occupations in the Muslim world, there will continue to be a risk of violence in Britain. But attempts to drive British Muslims out of normal political activity, and the refusal to confront anti-Muslim hatred, can only ratchet up the danger and threaten us all.

Muslimeissahan ei siis ole mitään vikaa ja salaliitto rulettaa. En oikein tiedä mitä ajatella väkivaltaisista ja ei-väkivaltaisista muslimeista. Olihan sitä aikoinaan väkivallattomia natseja ja kommunisteja mutta lopputuloksena ensinmäisillä oli kansanmurha ja toisilla luokkamurha. Huomatkaa tuo lopussa mainittu Europolin tilasto, samaa hämäyskikkaa yritti eräs vasemmistoliittolainen Uuden Suomen blogissaan mutta loppupelissä hänen argumenttinsa eivät kestäneet päivänvaloa.

Channel 4 on perinteisesti profiloitunut käsittääkseni ns. roskaviihteen tuottajana. Mutta viimeisen parin vuosikymmenen aikana Briteissä, kuten Suomessakin, perinteiset laatumediat, mm. BBC ,ovat "kunnostautuneet" vihervasemmistolaisen ideologian sokeina levittäjinä. Jolloin Channel 4 on tuottanut paljon aidompaa uutisointia. Samahan se on Suomessakin, että HS ja YLE tuottavat lähes pelkkää propagandaa ja oikeaa uutisointia saa etsiä muualta.

Älä ihmeessä käytä tässä yhteydessä sanaa fobia. Fobia on pelkoa ilman todellista syytä, siksihän monikultturistitkin sanaa käyttävät. Tämä pelko josta tuossa puhutaan on ihan aiheellista ja kumpuaa elävän elämän tapahtumista.

Kohtaamisteorian mukaan näiden fobioiden ja ennakkoluulojen tulisi poistua, kun kultuurit kohtaavat.

Osin teoria on oikeassa, ennakkoluulot ja fobiat todellakin enimmäkseen poistuvat,mutta jostain oudosta syystä siinä käy kuitenkin niin, että niiden tilalle tulevat aiheelliset pelot ja perusteltu epäluuloisuus
