Increasing number of Islamic congregations

The number of Islamic religous communities in Norway has increased by 40 per cent since the year 2000, accoording to the newspaper Vårt Land. 126 registered congregations now receive state support.

Islam is now the second largest religion in Norway. Of the members of religious communities outside the Norwegian Lutheran State Church, those registered in Islamic congregations constitute 21 per cent.

Islamilaisten yhteisöjen määrä on kasvanut 40% vuodesta 2000. Norjassa on nyt 126 islamilaista surakuntaa, jotka nauttivat valtion tuesta.

Islam on nyt Norjan toiseksi suurin uskonto Norjan Luterilaisen kirkon jälkeen.
