Käteisen käytölle on edelleen kuluttajien vankka tuki, vaikka Pohjoismaissa digimaksaminen on yleistynyt kovaa vauhtia.

– Käteisellä maksaessa on muun muassa mahdollista hahmottaa tarkemmin omaa rahankäyttöään.

Suomen Pankki on keväällä 2022 tehnyt aloitteen käteisen aseman turvaamisesta suomalaisessa yhteiskunnassa.[...]

I have been given no explanation or recourse as to why this is happening to me.

This is serious political persecution at the very highest level of our system.

If they can do it to me, they can do it to you too

Apparently that is not allowed at Orwellian Paypal.

En usko, nehän on vaan paperilappuja.

Are banks shutting out customers with anti-woke beliefs? First Direct 'closes account of campaigner who said women can't have penises', as Nigel Farage, Toby Young and Laurence Fox say they have also been suspended or barred by the money giants
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12249755/Nigel-Farage-claims-three-loved-ones-bank-accounts-closed-Brexit.html

Nigel Farage told MailOnline today that three members of his family have recently had accounts closed by UK banks - as lenders were accused of dumping customers who say things they don't like on gender and LGBT issues or Brexit.

Mr Farage has not named the bank who plan to shut his own personal and business accounts this summer, but is understood to be Coutts, the famous 327-year-old private bank whose clients include members of the Royal Family.

It is owned by high street giant NatWest, which is still 38.6% owned by the British taxpayer after it was bailed out following the 2008 financial crisis. MailOnline has asked Coutts and Nat West to comment.

Comparing Britain to 'communist China', Mr Farage told MailOnline: 'Some of these ridiculous rules and closures have been extended to my immediate family. I am enraged and also have a feeling of guilt that members of my family are being punished for my campaign to leave the European Union'.

Warning that anyone in Britain could be next he added: 'The banking industry in the UK has become politicised. We are going down a road where anybody in Britain could say something on Facebook or Twitter that a bank doesn't like and lose their accounts'.

First Direct has also been accused of closing the account of the founder Wings over Scotland pro-Scottish independence blog, run by journalist Stuart Campbell. Mr Campbell has suggested that his accounts were closed because of his views on gender and sex, including declaring: 'Women don't have penises'.
...
Journalist Toby Young, of the Free Speech Union, told Mr Farage on GB News last night that he was contacted by a Yorkshire Building Society customer who claimed he asked why their branches were festooned with Pride flags. The bank allegedly replied that his account would be closed down. MailOnline has Yorkshire Building Society to comment.

PayPal has also pulled services from groups and people in recent years, including Mr Young himself, before a U-turn on his account three days later. The TRIGGERnometry free speech YouTube show and podcast claims Tide has shut down its business account.

In 2021 Laurence Fox's political party 'Reclaim' was also denied a bank account. Mr Fox said recently: 'The Reclaim Party cannot get a uk bank account. Despite three years of box ticking and immaculate compliance. In fact, entire new compliance departments are created just to stop us existing.
...
The furore began yesterday when the former Brexit Party and Ukip leader said he was a victim of 'political persecution' and suggested he was trying to be forced out of the UK.

Going Cashless: Central Banks and Digital Currencies – IMF F&D Magazine - Point of View

Quote
The governor of the world's oldest central bank discusses his country's shift toward digital money
...
Citizens can expect a payments market to meet a few basic requirements. First, its services should be broadly available. Second, its infrastructure should be safe and secure. Sellers and buyers should be convinced that the payment order will be carried out—a necessary condition for people to be willing to use the system. Third, it should be efficient: payments should be settled fast, at the lowest possible cost, and the system should be perceived as simple and easy to use.

Do we fulfill these requirements? I am becoming increasingly uncertain whether we can respond with an unequivocal yes.

If banknotes and coins have had their day, then in the near future, the general public will no longer have access to a state-guaranteed means of payment, and the private sector will to a greater extent control accessibility, technological developments, and pricing of the available payment methods. It is difficult to say at present what consequences this might have, but it will likely further limit financial access for groups in society that currently lack any means of payment other than cash. Competition and redundancy in the payments infrastructure will likely be reduced if the state is no longer a participant. Today, cash has a natural place as the only legal tender. But in a cashless society, what would legal tender mean?

In this regard, one might ask whether central banks should start issuing digital currency to the public. This is a complex issue and one central banks will likely struggle with for years to come. I approach the question as a practical, not a hypothetical, matter. I am convinced that within 10 years we will almost exclusively be paying digitally, both in Sweden and in many parts of the world. Even today, young people, at least in Sweden, use practically no cash at all. This demographic dimension is also why I believe that cash's decline can be neither stopped nor reversed. While the Nordic countries are at the forefront, we are not alone. It is interesting to see how quickly the Chinese payments market, for instance, is changing.

And then there is the emergence of crypto assets. I do not consider these so-called currencies to be money, as they do not fulfill the three essential functions of money—to serve as a means of payment, a unit of account, and a store of value. This view is shared by most of my colleagues. Crypto assets' main contribution is to show that financial infrastructure can be built in a new way with blockchain technology, smart contracts, and crypto solutions. Although the new technology is interesting and can probably create value added in the long run, it is important that central banks make it clear that cryptocurrencies are generally not currencies but rather assets and high-risk investments. The clearer we are in communicating this, the greater the chance that we can prevent unnecessary bubbles from arising in the future. We may also want to review the need for regulatory frameworks and supervision for this relatively new phenomenon.

WEF Banker: Eliminating Cash Gives 'Absolute Control' over Population - Slay News

Quote
A video has emerged of one of the world's most powerful bankers boasting about plans to eliminate cash and gain "absolute control" over the global population through the use of digital money.

The video features Agustin Carstens, the General Manager of the Bank of International Settlements (BIS) and a World Economic Forum (WEF) member, discussing the "advantages" of a cashless society.

Carstens, who previously served as the Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, issues a disturbing message about the future of the financial surveillance state and central banks' plans to gain "absolute control" of everyone's money.

The video initially surfaced in 2021 but has recently reemerged and gone viral in response to Democrat President Joe Biden's push for digital cash.
...
Carstens boasts that by getting rid of cash and using CBDCs, governments and their financial oligarchs will be able to track purchases globally and see exactly who's buying what.

They'll also be able to fulfill their longtime goal of having "absolute control" over financial transactions, he adds.

WEF Calls on World Governments to 'Advance Cashless Societies' - Slay News

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has called on governments around the globe to begin ushering plans to eliminate physical cash and roll out digital "money."

The WEF published a new report on Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) to coincide with its "Summer Davos" event in Communist China this week.

In its report, the WEF praises CBDCs, calls for "public-private partnerships" on digital cash, and urges governments to begin "advancing cashless societies."

The WEF has been unequivocally pushing for the adoption and proliferation of CBDCs at "Summer Davos."

Through an array of discussions, the WEF showcased the pivotal role of "public-private partnerships" in fashioning an integrated financial system.

As members of the WEF celebrate the push toward "cashless societies," major concerns are being raised for the privacy and civil liberties of the general public.
...
Under such plans, privacy, security, and freedoms are all at risk.
...
Aside from surveillance, concerns are mounting about how much control over a person's finances such the system would allow.

In the same way that Big Tech companies shut down the accounts of users who "violate" their policies, a person could, in theory, lose access to their own money due to their political views.

This report analyses CBDCs from a regional perspective, identifying unique aspects and areas of alignment among jurisdictions. It highlights key principles that can serve as a basis for interoperable CBDC design, including trust, financial inclusion, payment efficiency, regulatory compliance, privacy, cybersecurity and more.

WEF: Lockdowns Prove 'Billions' Will Comply with Climate 'Restrictions' - Slay News
https://slaynews.com/news/wef-lockdowns-prove-billions-will-comply-climate-restrictions/
Quote
Klaus Schwab's World Economic Forum (WEF) has declared that COVID-19 pandemic-related lockdowns have proved that "billions of citizens across the world" would comply with global restrictions on freedoms for the sake of "climate change."

In an article published by the WEF, the organization lauds how "billions" of people complied with Covid "restrictions," arguing that they would do the same under the guise of reducing carbon emissions.

Titled "My Carbon: An approach for inclusive and sustainable cities," the article suggests that the same fear tactics could be used to impose further "restrictions" on the general public.

The subject of the piece is how to convince people to adopt "personal carbon allowance programs."

The WEF laments that such schemes have so far been largely unsuccessful.

However, Schwab's group notes that improvements in tracking and surveillance technology are helping to overcome "political resistance" against such programs.
...
The article goes on to call for a social-credit style carbon emissions rationing scheme.
...
New social norms would also be created to define what "a fair share" of personal emissions represents, and determine "acceptable levels" of personal emissions.

'My Carbon': An approach for inclusive & sustainable cities | World Economic Forum
https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2022/09/my-carbon-an-approach-for-inclusive-and-sustainable-cities/
Quote
Inclusivity of citizens is becoming the most important element of success or failure in the journey towards sustainability. Community-led initiatives can make a significant contribution towards sustainability, increase resilience and social cohesion. There have been numerous examples of personal carbon allowance programs in discussions for the last two decades, however they had limited success due to a lack of social acceptance, political resistance, and a lack of awareness and fair mechanism for tracking "My Carbon" emissions.
...
There have been significant developments in last five to seven years on social, environment and technology fronts that could help realise "My Carbon" initiatives for shaping the future towards smart and sustainable cities.

Specifically, to mention three developments in this context:

1. COVID-19 was the test of social responsibility – A huge number of unimaginable restrictions for public health were adopted by billions of citizens across the world. There were numerous examples globally of maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, mass vaccinations and acceptance of contact-tracing applications for public health, which demonstrated the core of individual social responsibility.

2. Fourth Industrial Revolution technology breakthroughs – Advances in emerging technologies like AI, blockchain and digitization can enable tracking personal carbon emissions, raise awareness and also provide individual advisories on lower carbon and ethical choices for consumption of product and services. The World Economic Forum's Scale 360 initiative demonstrates the use of fourth industrial revolution technologies across the whole life cycle of products and services.
