Billionaire investor George Soros has given hundreds of thousands of pounds to a pro-EU campaign, according to media reports.
The Best for Britain campaign, which advocates staying in the EU, has been given more than £400,000 ($550,000) of funding by Soros' Open Society Foundation.

PRO-EU campaigner Gina Miller has furiously slammed the Remain-supporting campaign group she founded for being "undemocratic" after claims were made they were raising money to bring down the Government.

Her extraordinary remarks came after it was revealed billionaire investor George Soros had handed £400,000 to the Best for Britain campaign group, which is trying to overturn Brexit with a nationwide advertising campaign and Momentum style rallies.

Ms Miller, who stepped down as Director of Best for Britain after the 2017 general election, hit out at the organisation for their secretive fund raising and their attempts to undermine Theresa May.

She said: "It is undemocratic. One of the objectives cannot be to bring down a Government, not without an election or a referendum.

"This idea of bringing down a Government and guerrilla warfare, I don't agree with any of that. I'm a transparency campaigner, it doesn't matter which side of the argument you are on.

"If you are going to have funders who are getting involved in something that could determine Britain's future then the public has a right to know who is backing it.

Theresa May's former chief of staff Nick Timothy, who backed the Leave cause, used his newspaper column to claim that Best for Britain wanted to bring down Mrs May's Government.

In the Telegraph he wrote: "The objective is to convince MPs to vote against the deal Theresa May negotiates with Brussels, regardless of its content and despite the risk that doing so could mean Britain leaves the EU with no alternative agreement in place.

"Malloch-Brown (the Chairman of Best for Britain) and his backers believe that, if Parliament rejects the Brexit deal, the Government will fall, and Brexit can then be stopped."

Hungary Seeks to Punish Those Who Aid Illegal Migration

The Hungarian government is proposing a set of laws which would tax and possibly sanction Hungarian organizations which assist illegal migration and receive foreign funding.

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — A new set of laws would tax and possibly sanction Hungarian groups assisting illegal migration which receive foreign funding, Hungary's government said Wednesday.

Such groups would have to register with the courts and, if they get more than half of their funds from foreign sources, pay a 25-percent tax on the funds received from abroad, Interior Minister Sandor Pinter said. Groups failing to register, and which authorities consider to be adding illegal migrants, could be fined.

Pinter, without mentioning anyone by name, gave an example of someone providing a smartphone containing maps and other information "showing the way to Europe" to a migrant in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, and part of the "Balkan route" migrants use to try to reach Germany and other destinations in Western Europe.

Also, restraining orders could be issued against Hungarian citizens considered to be "organizing illegal migration," preventing them from going within eight kilometers (five miles) of Hungary's Schengen borders, those with countries outside the European Union, like Serbia and Ukraine. Foreigners found to be aiding illegal migrants could be banned from Hungary, Pinter said.

Government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs said the expectations were that Hungarian non-governmental groups "which deal with illegal migrants or the issue of migration will follow the law and indicate to authorities ... that they are doing this activity."

The new laws would apparently not apply to, for example, religious charity groups or the Red Cross, which distribute food, medicines and other aid to migrants.

"Giving assistance is not the same as actively ... taking part in someone crossing the border illegally," Kovacs said.

Soros on tunnettu liberaalin demokratian puolestapuhuja. Unkarin hallitusta johtaa nationalistinen pääministeri Viktor Orbán, joka on hyökännyt suoraan Euroopan unionin arvoja vastaan. Hän on jo vuosia maalannut maahanmuuton Unkarin turvallisuusuhkaksi.

Pari viikkoa ennen vaaleja Budapestin katujen varsilla on paitsi eri ehdokkaiden vaalimainoksia myös sinisiä Unkarin hallituksen maksamia kylttejä. Verorahoilla maksettujen kylttien perusviesti on se, että Bryssel, YK tai Soros haluavat vahingoittaa Unkarin itsemääräämisoikeutta ja pakkoasuttaa maan ulkomaalaisilla.

Unkarilainen politiikan tutkija Edit Zgut Political Capital -tutkimuslaitoksesta sanoo Unkarin hallituksen viestivän kansalle, että EU ja Soros työskentelevät yhdessä Unkarin valtiollisen itsevallan viemiseksi. Zgutin mukaan viesti ulkoisesta vihollisesta on toiminut hyvin Unkarin hallituksen hyväksi.

Unkarin Helsinki-komitean Márta Pardavi sanoo olevansa huolissaan kansalaisjärjestöjen kohtalosta, sillä Unkarin hallitus sanoi viime viikolla tehtyjen paljastusten jälkeen ajavansa Stop Soros -lain läpiviemistä heti vaalien jälkeen. Pardavin mukaan laki halvaannuttaisi järjestöjen toiminnan, sillä sen myötä toimintaluvan myöntämistä voitaisiin pitkittää.

– Se estäisi maahanmuuttajalapsien auttamisen ja jopa maahanmuuttajien tilanteesta puhumisen julkisesti.

Nyt suunnitelty lakipaketti koskisi vain maahanmuuttajien kanssa työskenteleviä järjestöjä. Pardavin mukaan riski on, että lain jälkeen myös muiden, eri asioita ajavien kansalaisjärjestöjen toimintaa rajoitettaisiin.

Soros's Open Society Foundations Announces Exit from Hungary

In a major victory for the Hungarian government and the Hungarian people who overwhelmingly re-elected it in the recent elections, the Open Society Foundations (OSF) has said it will leave Budapest after a sustained campaign against the globalist influence of George Soros.

OSF chairman Patrick Gaspard personally travelled to Hungary's capital to inform around 100 members of staff there that the international grantmaking network founded by Soros will be moving its Eastern European operations to Berlin, Austria's Die Presse reported Thursday.

After closing its Budapest office in August, the organisation will operate temporarily in Vienna before moving to a site in the German capital, according to the liberal news portal 444.hu.

The OSF's announcement followed reports that Soros' Central European University (CEU) is also planning to retreat from Hungary, with the institution having already signed an agreement with a landlord in Vienna where it will establish a campus.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's conservative Fidesz party swept to victory in elections, winning a huge two-thirds majority of seats in the Hungarian parliament after a campaign vowing to protect citizens from Soros's plans to turn the country into a multicultural "nation of immigrants".

A major pillar of the party's campaign was directed at the influence of foreign NGOs and the far left financier, who has spent more than $32 billion on OSF's work to "build vibrant and tolerant democracies" since launching what he describes as his "philanthropic" career in South Africa in 1979.

Since the election, Fidesz has said that a major priority for the government will be passing a package of bills dubbed the "Stop Soros" laws which would tax foreign income to NGOs and restrict the operations of open borders groups.

Commenting on Hungary's recent parliamentary election result on Friday's edition of the Kossuth Radio programme "180 Minutes", Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that George Soros's circles of financial speculators backed the wrong horse, and "right now they are on the losing side".

Regarding George Soros's associates, the Prime Minister stated that "I know that they will not accept the result of the election, they will organise all manner of things and they have unlimited financial resources at their disposal". In his view, "they mobilised colossal amounts of money" in trying to secure victory for the opposition, because it is not good for them if there is an anti-immigration government.

Regarding the recently published "Soros network" list, he said that the essence of European politics is transparency, and he therefore he encourages the press to publicly reveal the facts and uncover as many networks and syndicates as possible. If someone is not ashamed to accept money from foreigners, he observed, they should not be ashamed to declare that fact.


Mr. Orbán also said that the Government sees immigration as the most important question for the coming decades, and it is therefore a moral duty to talk about it and to ensure that this message reaches every household: "we have to repeat this a hundred times – and, if necessary, a thousand times".

He added that he will not be idle in this regard, and that although this demands a high tolerance for monotony, it is an important part of his profession.

In relation to the UN's preparations for a migration compact, he stressed that the Hungarian people see migration as something bad, and something which must be kept at bay rather than encouraged, together with the need to help everyone prosper in their native lands. He stressed that Europe's Christian-based civilisation must be defended.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the European Union's plans related to migration, saying that it would run counter to the principles of democracy to adopt new immigration policy decisions now, just one year before elections for the European Parliament. Such decisions would, he said, present leaders elected next year with a "fait accompli".

Regarding the result of Hungary's parliamentary elections, the Prime Minister said that he is in good spirits and is happy, because some 650,000 more people voted for the governing parties than four years ago, and they received 336,000 more votes than all opposition parties in Parliament combined. The police unions are less enthusiastic. According to ANPV, a survey of 600 officers found that 90 percent think that allowing religious expressions is a bad idea. Nykyisten tietojen mukaan lakiesitys ei vaikeuttaisi järjestöiltä muuta kuin laittoman maahantulon ja maassaolon tukemista, mutta jotenkin tämä olennainen seikka unohtuu järjestöjen tiedotteista ja Hesarin uutisista. Vastaavasti Sorosin säätiö on muun muassa väittänyt Unkarin hallituksen valheeksi ja Sorosin mustamaalaamiseksi, että Soros olisi vaatinut Eurooppaan miljoona pakolaista joka vuosi. Kuten hän on tehnyt.

Järjestöjä ja niiden taustatahoja voisi kunnioittaa edes jollain tasolla, jos ne edustaisivat avoimesti ajamaansa politiikkaa eli rajojen avaamista ja laittomien siirtolaisten hyysäämistä, mutta sen sijaan ne mediapelin voittaakseen valehtelevat tavoitteistaan, kiistävät poliittisuutensa ja tekeytyvät uhreiksi. Soros Demands Europe Give Africa 30 Billion Euros a Year to Prevent Collapse of the EU

Left-wing Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros has called on European Union member states to give €30 billion to Africa annually for several years to curb the flow of migrants which he now claims could bring down the political bloc.

Mr. Soros, who in 2015 pushed for mass migration remarking in an interview that "our plan treats the protection of refugees as the objective and national borders as the obstacle", now wants the EU to pay billions to Africa to prevent mass migration, Kronen Zeitung reports.

The billionaire, whose Open Society Foundations (OSF) has funded far-left activist groups and open borders campaigners, added that it was unlikely the EU member states would be willing to spend the money claiming it was "far beyond what the member states are willing or able to afford".

Writing a commentary piece for Focus, Soros said that instead the bloc should go into debt and borrow money to finance the venture saying: "The financing could be done by tapping the EU's largely untapped credit capacity."

Kehitysapu on vaan kohdistettu väärin. Jos 30 miljardia käytettäisiin oikein niin sillä saisi minkä tahansa kehitysmaan jaloilleen ennenpitkää.

Ensinnäkin kehitysmaitten ongelma on yleisesti ottaen liian alhainen keskiverto IQ, siksi kehittyneiden maitten IQ 150 nerojen pitää lahjoittaa siittiöitään ja kehitysrahojen avulla vaikka kaikki paikalliset naiset pitää keinohedelmöittää nerojen IQ:lla - tämä nostaa kehitysmaan keskiverto IQ:ta huomattavasti ja tuloksia alkaa näkymään 20-30v päästä jo. Tietenkin vaihtoehtoisesti voidaan etsiä joku paikallinen nero joka lahjoittaa siittiöitään jos kehitysmaa ei halua muuttaa etnis-geneettistä koostumustaan. Kannatan tätä myös btw Suomelle, mutta kehitysmaat on suuremmassa tarpeessa. Tietenkin tämä voi perustua vapaaehtoisuuteen ainakin osittain, esim. jokaiselle naiselle joka synnyttää keinohedelmöitetyn lapsen saa huomattavan summan rahaa palkkioksi jne.. Mielestäni 30 miljardia voitaisiin hyvin käyttää pelkästään näihin palkkioihin. Jos jokaiselle kehitysmaalaiselle naiselle maksettaisiin vaikka 1000e niin 30 miljardilla voitaisiin maksaa 30 miljoonalle naiselle siitä, että he synnyttää neron lapsen. Ja esim. kongossa keskimääräinen kuukausitulot on jotain 35e ja vuositulot 400e luokkaa niin olisihan se iso raha. 30 miljardilla saataisiin siis vuosittain 30 miljoonaa korkean IQ:n omaavaa lasta kehitysmaihin. Jos ei he tuosta innostu niin heille voitaisiin maksaa siitä 10000e eli 20v palkka, ja silloinkin kehitysmaihin saataisiin 3 miljoonaa "neroa" lasta syntymään. Voin olla väärässä, mutta voisin kuvitella että 20v palkka yhdestä synnytyksestä houkuttelisi aika monia kehitysmaitten perheitä...

Toisekseen kehitysmaiden syntyvyyttä pitää pienentää, tämä onnistuu parhaiten tukemalla perhesuunnittelua, lobbaamalla aborttia, jakamalla ehkäisyvälineitä ja urbanisoimalla kehitysmaata (koska kaupungeissa syntyvyys aina pienenee)

Kolmanneksi pitää tarjota internettiä paikallisille, koska netin kautta kehitysmaalaiset löytää rajattomasti tietoa ja kontakteja joiden avulla he pystyvät ratkaisemaan ongelmansa itsekin.

George Soros: How to Save Europe

It is good to be here. Thank you. I think this is the right place to discuss how to save Europe.

The European Union is in an existential crisis. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. First I will briefly explain how this happened and then I will explore what can be done to reverse the trend.

As a result, many young people today regard the European Union as an enemy that has deprived them of jobs and a secure and promising future. Populist politicians exploited the resentments and formed anti-European parties and movements.

Then came the refugee crisis of 2015. At first most people sympathized with the plight of refugees fleeing from political repression or civil war, but they didn't want their everyday lives disrupted by a breakdown of social services. They were also disappointed by the failure of the authorities to cope with the crisis.

When that happened in Germany, the AfD was empowered and it has grown into the largest opposition party. Italy has suffered from a similar experience recently and the political repercussions have been even more disastrous: the anti-European parties almost took over the government. Italy is now facing elections in the midst of political chaos. 

​Indeed the whole of Europe has been disrupted by the refugee crisis. Unscrupulous leaders have exploited it even in countries that have accepted hardly any refugees. In Hungary, Victor Orban based his reelection campaign on falsely accusing me of planning to flood Europe, Hungary included, with Muslim refugees.

He is now posing as the defender of his version of a Christian Europe that is challenging the values on which the European Union was founded. He is trying to take over the leadership of the Christian Democratic parties, which form the majority in the European Parliament.

​In recent weeks not just Europe but the whole world has been shocked by President Trump's actions. He has unilaterally withdrawn from a nuclear arms treaty with Iran thereby effectively destroying the transatlantic alliance. This development will put additional pressure of unpredictable force on an already beleaguered Europe. It is no longer a figure of speech to say that Europe is in existential danger; it is the harsh reality.   

​What can be done to save Europe?

​Europe faces three pressing problems: the refugee crisis; territorial disintegrations as exemplified by Brexit; and the austerity policy that has hindered Europe's economic development. Bringing the refugee crisis under control may be the best place to start.

​I have always advocated that the allocation of refugees within Europe should be entirely voluntary. Member states should not be forced to accept refugees they don't want and refugees should not be forced to settle in countries where they don't want to go.

The voluntary principle ought to guide Europe's migration policy. Europe must also urgently reform or repeal the so-called Dublin Regulations which have put an unfair burden on Italy and other Mediterranean countries with disastrous political consequences.

The EU must protect its external borders but keep them open for lawful migrants. Member states in turn must not close their internal borders. The idea of a "fortress Europe" closed to political refugees and economic migrants alike violates both European and international law and in any case it is totally unrealistic.

​Europe wants to extend a helping hand towards Africa (and other parts of the developing world) by offering substantial assistance to democratically inclined regimes. This would enable them to provide education and employment to their citizens. They would be less likely to leave and those who did would not qualify as refugees. At the same time, European countries could welcome migrants from these and other countries to meet their economic needsthrough an orderly process. In this way migration would be voluntary both on the part of the migrants and the receiving states. Such a "Marshall Plan" would also help to reduce the number of political refugees by strengthening democratic regimes in the developing world.

​Present day reality falls substantially short of this ideal. First and most importantly, the European Union still doesn't have a unified migration policy. Each member state has its own policy, which is often at odds with the interests of other states. 

​Second, the main objective of most European countries is not to foster democratic development but to stem the flow of migrants. This diverts a large part of the available funds to dirty deals with dictators, bribing them to prevent migrants from passing through their territory or to use repressive measures to prevent their citizens from leaving. In the long-run this will generate more political refugees.

Third, there is a woeful shortage of financial resources. We estimate that a meaningful Marshall Plan for Africa would require at least 30 billion euros a year for a number of years. Member states could contribute only a small fraction of this amount even if they were ready to do so.

​How might such a plan be financed then? It's important to recognize that the refugee crisis is a European problem and it needs a European solution. The European Union has a high credit rating and its borrowing capacity is largely unused. When should that capacity be put to use if not in an existential crisis? Throughout history, the national debt always grew at times of war. Admittedly, adding to the national debt runs counter to the prevailing addiction to austerity; but the austerity policy is itself a contributing factor to the crisis in which Europe finds itself.

Until recently it could have been argued that the austerity is working and we must persevere with it because the European economy is slowly improving. But looking ahead we are now facing the termination of the nuclear arms deal with Iran and the destruction of the transatlantic alliance.  This is bound to have a negative effect on the European economy and cause other dislocations. The strength of the dollar is already precipitating a flight from emerging market currencies. We may be heading for another major financial crisis. The economic stimulus of a Marshall Plan should kick in just at the right time.

That is what has led me to put forward an out-of-the-box proposal for financing it. I won't go into the details, but I want to point out that the proposal contains an ingenious device that would enable the European Union to borrow from the market at a very advantageous rate without incurring a direct obligation for itself or for its member states. This also offers considerable accounting benefits. Moreover, although it is an out-of-the-box proposal, it has already been successfully used in other contexts, mainly ingeneral revenue municipal bonds in the US and also in surge funding for infectious diseases.

Divorce will be a long process, probably taking more than five years. Five years is aneternity in politics, especially in revolutionary times like the present. Ultimately, it's up to the British people to decide what they want to do. It would be better however if they came to a decision sooner rather than later. That's the goal of an initiative called the "Best for Britain," which I support.

Best for Britain fought for, and helped to win, a meaningful parliamentary vote which includes the option of not leaving at all. 

This would be good for Britain but would also render Europe a great service by rescinding Brexit and not creating a hard-to-fill hole in the European budget. But the British public must express its support by a convincing margin in order to be taken seriously by Europe. That's what the Best for Britain is aiming for by engaging the electorate.  It will publish its manifesto in the next few days.

Harsh reality may force member states to set aside their national interests in the interest of preserving the European Union. That's what President Macron was urging in his Aachen speech and he was cautiously endorsed by Chancellor Merkel who is painfully aware of the opposition she faces at home.

If Macron and Merkel succeeded in spite of all the obstacles, they would follow in the footsteps of Jean Monnet and his small band of visionaries. As I said before, that small band needs to be replaced by a large upsurge of grass-roots pro-European initiatives. I and my network of Open Society Foundations will do everything in our power to help support those initiatives.
